I'm getting married this fall and with some other things going on - it kind of snuck up on me when I realized recently I don't have a dress. Queue: full panic mode. While scrolling through Instagram I saw that Monica's Bridal advertising a sample sale. I immediately scheduled an appointment to secure a dressing room thinking maybe I'll get lucky. The weekend arrived and I WAS BLOWN AWAY. The "babes" (as they're called) were all so nice and accommodating. I really had no idea what I was looking for... boho for the desert? Glam for Vegas? Caelin worked with my aunt and cousin to find what ended up being a DREAM dress. I'm only sad that they aren't accepting alterations for weddings before Thanksgiving (my wedding is the beginning of November), but that just shows how in demand they are. If I could rate Monica's more than 5 stars I would. The whole experience was amazing and I highly recommend them to anyone in the market for bridal gowns! read more

My little sister just got engaged and has never tried on wedding dresses so we drove from Dalton, Ga to Monica's and got an appointment only 12 hours in advance! We were assigned Madison to assist us in the dress picking process and she was AMAZING! Very honest and sweet-- extremely helpful and knew her stuff!!!! I had a bit of a unique dress experience as I never had to hunt for my dress. During the Pink Bridal show, Monica's had a runway show which featured the most amazing combo of boho glam in a dress that I had ever seen. I immediately fell in love and knew what I wanted before I even went shopping. The appointment making process was online and simple. It included a detailed questionnaire and lots of dress shopping tips. My appointment was during the pandemic but I was still able to bring 4 masked guests. The decor of the store was adorable, trendy boho full of mirrors and comfy chairs. The store location (North Shore) includes its own designated parking lot so you don't have to worry about finding a space. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance as well, so it's easy to make an event out of your dress shopping appointment. I would recommend NOT scheduling your dress appointment on a Saturday, especially not during the Spring, as Monica's was very busy and I did not get to that once-in-a-lifetime event experience I had been expecting. The salesperson helping me was very frazzled and had clearly not looked at the questionnaire I had spent time filling out. But, she was very positive and friendly despite the obvious stress she was under. She brought out several dresses for me to try that I never would've thought I would have liked. I tried them on one-by-one, liking most, but not falling in love until I finally tried on the gown I had seen at the bridal show. It was disappointing that, despite my gown coming in extended sizes and Monica's specifically noting on their website that they have extended sizes, the only floor size they had of my dress was a size 6. I understand these floor dresses are very expensive. However, I think it would be a good investment to have a standard and extended dress for brides to try on. Or, perhaps have some kind of rental agreement available with the designer so that multiple stores could share 1 floor dress. The questionnaire I had filled out had places for my dress size and, for brides like me who came in with a specific gown in mind, it would have been nice to have a dress available that relatively fits them. Ultimately, although I was able to wear the dress, the size definitely affected the fit and I had to trust the seamstress that she would be able to make my gown fit me the way it should. After validating that I had indeed found my dream dress, the payment process was simple and clearly explained. I knew I wasn't going the traditional route of wearing a veil and the salesperson assisting me was supportive and never made me feel pressured to make any additional purchases. My dress arrived a few months later and my two fitting appointments were wonderful! Ashley was professional and efficient and gave some GREAT tips throughout the fittings. She told me how to help relax the clear straps on my shoes and reassured me that I didn't need 14 layers of Spanx because I'd only end up feeling miserable. She even made a suggestion that I loved for how I could wear my dress again after the wedding. The pick-up process was quick and clear directions were given on how to prep my car along with what to bring. My dress was clean and came in a beautiful white garment bag. The type of dress I had was low-maintenance so I didn't have to do anything extra with it between the pick-up process and the wedding day. I would definitely recommend Monica's to any future bride! My suggestions would be to take some PTO and go during a weekday when there is less going on so you get the special, one-on-one, unrushed attention you want. (Just take the afternoon and make it a whole event.) Also, if you feel you might need an extended dress size, call them so you will know what to expect. The front desk was always very kind and responsive (the 1 time I called and no one answered I immediately got a call back). I am here in town to visit my best friend. We enjoy looking at the window display each time I visit. My friend is very recently engaged and although not ready to get her dress yet, we thought it would be perfect just to browse again in the window until we were ready to shop in the next few months. We were so excited! We pulled up and parked in the almost empty lot and spent about 60 seconds looking in the window when an employee came out. She stated that we need to move our car out of the spot we were in and park far away because "20 brides" were "on their way" and deserved the spot we were in. God forbid we spent another 60 seconds excitedly browsing the window display, Anticipating the day we came back and shopped officially. The woman was SO rude and laughed at us as she walked back in the store. I am from Chicago was appalled at the rudeness. So much for Southern hospitality! My friend will most definitely not be giving them her business!!!! read more

I am now married and finally got to wear my gorgeous dress!!! Monica's was perfect from start to finish. My dress fit me perfectly ! I came in a few times for fittings to make sure the dress fit my body. They had me practice walking, sitting, and turning just to make sure I was comfortable in the dress. I made a last minute (day before) appointment to try on wedding dresses at Monica's. They were very accommodating, and I was seen promptly when we arrived. I'm sure a lot of how your experience goes has to do with who your consultant it, but let me just say, Chelsea was wonderful!!! So sweet and bubbly, and she really understood the look I was going for. I had fallen in love with Jenny Packham, Temperly London etc. online (way out of my budget) but we found several really great options by Watters at Monica's. The shop was very crowded, but everything went smoothly and easily- and I ended up buying my wedding dress! Thank you so much, Chelsea, for helping make this such a special day for me :-) I haven't done any fittings or alterations yet, but I expect good things! read more

I wouldn't have even bought a dress even if it was the perfect one! Customer service skills from the Manager was very poor. I had an appointment set up to dress shop for my wedding with my mother, my stepmother, and my matron of honor. This met the 3 people maximum for their Saturday appointments. My younger sister was supposed to be picked up by her father but he canceled at the last minute, and with her being a minor she had to stay with my mother. When I spoke to the Manager about this on the phone, I was told " You were told many times you can only have 3 people with you." To which I responded "I can't leave my youngest sister by herself. Is there anything we can do to make this work?" I was then told, "You need to figure that out amongst yourselves"... We understood covid and the new rules but there is always a way of handling complicated situations in a polite way and attempt to provide options for potential paying customers. The only reason I did not cancel my appointment after this phone call was because I would have been charged $30 for not going. This experience ruined the thing I was most excited about when it came to wedding planning. read more

I recently purchased my dress from Monica's and everything about it was easy! I pulled a few dresses and Ally pulled a couple for me. I fell in love with one she had pulled for me. I wasn't crazy about it on the hanger but obviously these ladies know what they're doing because it ended up being exactly what I wanted! They stayed within my budget, and were never pushy. I was comfortable inside and outside the fitting room. They even worked with me to get the paperwork signed since my work hours are the same as their store hours and I couldn't stop by the store. You can stop believing the bad reviews on here (they're super old anyway) and trust Ally and the Monica's team to make this the easiest part of your wedding planning. read more

The only good thing I can say about Monica's is the quality of dress that was received. I was an out of state bridesmaid and had to do fittings over the phone. I had someone measure me, and sent them the measurements. They put me in a size 20 dress. Now, I have never, even at my heaviest, even in the most small cut evening gown, been a size 20. I expressed concern, as I was told the dress was stretchy, cut large, etc. They insisted that I order that size, even though there was a "plus size" fee (assuming for extra material). I caved, because what was I to do? Fast forward to the point when I got the dress...it was falling off of me. I called to ask if we could do an exchange and to warn them that the dress was, in fact, cut large, but I was completely blown off. When I pressed the issue, the owner became angry, cutting me off and yelling at me. She accused me of lying about my measurements or measuring incorrectly (when I was measured again, there was maybe an inch difference...not enough to warrant a two size difference). It seemed as if she had my money, she didn't care what happened. I had to then pay to get it altered (common, I know, but a lot of fabric was taken out) and hemmed so it actually fit me. So a dress that should have run me around $175 ended up costing over $300 when it was all said and done. The money isn't my concern, it was the attitude of the owner...the woman who is representing her company. I have spent over 15 years in the customer service industry, and I would never think of talking to a customer (or anyone for that matter) the way I was spoken to. I always try to support local businesses, and my friend's dress was so beautiful, I did have it on the list of places to check out for my dress. That changed very quickly. Long story short, if you don't mind being talked down to and belittled, try it out. The dresses are excellent quality. Otherwise, take your business elsewhere. read more

WARNING TO CONSUMERS: As someone who has worked in corporate sales and a manger and retail sales this place is an absolute disaster. The other costumers who also put one star were not lying about the incredibly poor customer service. My friend wanted the bridesmaids to all be the same color and material, but different styles. She was giving all of the bridesmaids the opportunity to pick their style of dress before we purchased it. My job was to try on the dresses and help her pick which ones we liked. Mallorye Middleton, occasionally pulled dresses from the same collection we were pulling from. Mallorye Middleton, was back and forth with other customers so we were pretty much on our own. After a few hours we selected our top picks from one designer. Mallorye Middleton, wrote the top picks down on her clip board and I took photos of the dresses we selected. Fast forward to April of 2019. I walked in and asked for my dress. As soon as I received the dress the bride and I agreed it was the wrong dress and we gave it back. They came back with the receipt stating that I had signed a receipt with that style number on it. They also stated that the dress we wanted is out of stock. ( after checking with the designer - I confirmed it was not out of stock.) I communicated that since someone wrote it down wrong can we send it back? The answer from the beginning was always, "there is nothing we can do." I was a bit frustrated and it showed. I showed them the photos of the final dresses we picked and they said they would call both of us the next day if there is anything that they can do. The next day comes. They only called the bride. They did not call both of us as they said they would (I am the one who paid for it). I go into the store by myself to see if there was anything we could do since it was not what I agreed to purchase. I walk in and asked to see the dress again. The manager Mallorye Middleton reconfirmed that there was nothing that could be done. I then asked if we could make it right by getting a different dress that the bride and I had liked. The answer was no for every idea I had. They didn't even try to come up with something. After just a few short minutes of being in the store the owner Stephanie Palmer-Pack began to listen in ( on the conversation I was having with Mallorye Middleton). She started smirking and laughing at me. I asked her who she was and why she was laughing and she rudely put out her hand and said, "I am the Owner and you need to leave." Mind you I was not hostile, rude or disrespectful. Shortly after she started to raise her voice and tell me that she does not care about me because I am not a customer. I told her I am a paying customer and she said I don't care. I only care about the bride. She then stated that they emailed the bride the list of dresses and the bride confirmed the email. She asked me if that was true and I said that I did not know because I didn't actually see all of the emails myself. I also didn't receive any emails confirming this information. She then said I was lying. I said I would like to wait since the brides mom is on the phone and upset. She told me that she did not care and that I needed to leave because they had a flight to catch to New York and they were not going to let someone like me cause them to be late. I continued to tell her that this whole issue caused me to miss some personal things as well and she just did not care. I then asked if they could print the receipt. As it was printing I asked if their was any way we could do something to make it right. Stephanie Palmer-Pack asked, "what would you like me to do to make it right?" I said maybe a discount and something for the bride since this has caused her stress. She laughed and said, "for a mistake you made? No!" I informed them that I don't deny I should have checked her work, but I gave my credit card and money as an act of faith. She asked for my card before I was given any paper work- it was an act of faith that I regret and will never Do again. I ended it by calmly and sadly saying I guess I will have to communicate with the Better Business Bureau and dispute the charged. She laughed and told me to go right ahead. I then took the receipt and the dress and left. I was not even given the chance to try it on. I verbally made a legal agreement on the dress that I wanted my money to be used for. I was cheated, lied to and manipulated. I am a consumer and It is not my job to have to learn your numbers and your inventory to ensure my customer service. Thankfully the United States has something called the, Fair Credit Billing Act. read more

When I bought my dress here after paying it off. They called me telling me they couldn't find my payment. After telling them I would get my bank statement they said don't worry about it. Then a few months before my wedding on a slow rainy Wednesday morning my mom and sister went to the shop to see if there was any way they could alter my sisters dress since she had come in from out of town. There was NO ONE in the shop. The owner came out screaming saying they couldn't do it. That they had appointments. Then she started saying things about them that we're completely rude and to their face. When my mom and sister asked if there was anyone they would recommend to alter the dress the owner refused to say anything. Beware of this place. They are so nice to you when they are trying to get your business but once they've got it and your stuck with them they will treat you worse than a dog. read more

I had a horrible experience with Monicas. They messed up the alterations on my dress and admitted it the first time I went in. But after fixing it they denied that it was their fault and told me I Had just gotten fat. and made me pay for their mistake after telling me I wouldn't be charged. I was very embarrassed and humiliated. I have never been treated as rudely as I was by their employees and owner. read more

My friend and I had absolutely horrible experiences at Monica's. The ladies in the shop are snooty and very unhelpful. When we went in to order our bridesmaids dresses, they sized us incorrectly. When my friend tried to argue that she was a size 2 instead of a size 4, they insisted on ordering a size four. (We then had to pay an exorbitant amount of money to have this dress altered back down to a size 2). I also ordered a size 4 and when I went in for alterations, I asked the lady if she could leave it a little looser for comfort. When my sister and I picked up our dresses after alterations, both of the dresses were incorrectly altered. When we expressed our concerns about the dresses fitting too tightly, the lady brushed us off and said this was how the dress was supposed to fit. I would never recommend Monica's to anyone and will never go back! read more
