Eddie and Travis are extremely reachable and responsive whenever we have questions. They are extremely attentive to our needs and excellent in following up on any questions or action items from our conversations. Their use of tools also makes it very easy to exchange messages, save historical conversations, and schedule zoom meetings whenever I want to talk to them live. I also love their financial planning tool called Right Capital. I used several other tools in the past but this is the best one by far in terms of the granularity of the parameters that can be set up to calculate realistic retirement scenarios. One other big differentiator is they are a fixed fee advisor who can provide advise for the entirety of our asset. Our old advisors charged a percentage fee over the non-retirement investment accounts they managed, so their primary interest was to increase the balance in those accounts only, with little regards to our overall retirement goals or any tax consequences from their investment choice. Downshift always provides investment advice taking into account all factors, including short and long term tax implications before and after retirement. It's also an added bonus that you get both Eddie and Travis with different experience and skill sets (Eddie with extensive wealth management experience and Travis with real estate experience and also being an IRS tax Enrolled Agent). When I was interviewing different fixed fee advisors, most of them were one man shop and their availability was limited. In summary we are extremely happy to have found Downshift. I retained Advisorlaw for an expungement issue. I paid a 10K retainer, and watched as no progress was made on my case for nearly 2 years. Meanwhile they were charging monthly fees for my case being active, and $60 an email when I would follow up with them on where things stood. When they finally got a hearing scheduled for the expungement, they wanted another 10K for the trial as they had somehow burned thru 10k with nothing to show for it. I found a local attorney who cleared up the issue in 2 months and charged $2000. When we went to the hearing the judge and both attorneys had a good laugh at previous counsel (advisorlaw) who hadn't even scheduled the proper type of hearing for my case. Do yourself a favor and hire a local attorney. Avoid this firm at all costs.

They are not the least expensive accounting firm in the area, but they more than earn back their fee in the time, money and stress that they save you. Fran is very meticulous and attentive to detail while still being very warm and easy to work with, and their entire process is laid out for you in an electronic organizer that they provide, so that you know if you're missing any documents that they need to prepare your return. Additionally, if you have a corporation, I highly recommend having Coet2 prepare your quarterly payroll and year-end corporate taxes. These seem like a small thing, but accounting is my most hated business task and payroll taxes used to cause me a lot of problems. Coet2's staffer Barb Arnold now handles everything for me and has completely streamlined my payroll process at a very reasonable cost. In addition, no one at Coet2 ever pushes the additional services that they offer, but they are there if you need them (QuickBooks classes, financial planning, etc.). Highly recommended, and I have dealt with 4 accountants over the life of my business, so I have a good basis to offer a recommendation.
