I had site five, which was by the river, but there is a bit of a hill to climb to get to/from the site, so if you have accessibility issues or a lot of heavy gear, stick to sites one or two. The bathroom situation is only okay. There is a building with flush toilets nearby, but it is only open from 7:30am-9pm each day, and those times aren't set in stone. Other than that, there is one port-a-potty that could stand to be serviced more frequently than is currently scheduled. Each camping site has a water spigot, a picnic table, and a fire pit, but you need to buy firewood off-site; we found some at Lowe's. You are close to a lot of scenic drives through farm country, and we saw a lot of Amish traveling by horse and buggy on our drives. Also nearby is the city of Lancaster, which is beautiful, way bigger than anticipated, and surprisingly had several Puerto Rican restaurants. All in all this park is a great home base for a trip to Lancaster, and the camping facilities are great.

Yesterday, I came here for the "Lantern Festival - Philadelphia." It's a huge field park with a car…read moreraceway in one section. I took a quick glimpse of the car race. During the festival, there were some food stands selling stir fried noodles, pizza, burgers, fries, funnel cake, sodas, and beer. The prices were ok and I got a slice of pizza ($3.50) and 24oz soda ($3.50). There were a few porta potties at the festivals. But, there's a restroom all the way in the back of the food stands near the start of the car raceway area. The Lantern Festival was extremely fun. Hope they set it up here again in the future. (BTW, I bought my tickets for the festival back in April 2016. It was $35 during my registration).

I'd definitely recommend going to these events once to experience this! go early and picnic with a group of friends until it's time to light up the lanterns, you can spend time writing wishes or drawing on the lanterns. Remember to bring some mats or things to sit on. Some people even brought their own tents. You can bring your own food and drinks.They also have live music and some vendors around (super long lines though). It's a really popular event so expect to be stuck in some traffic on the way out. Great activity over the weekend for families and friends!
