Every location I dealt with before was helpful, understanding, and willing to work with me if something came up. That's the only reason I trusted them again when my car needed repairs.
This time around was a completely different experience.
I took the loan knowing the terms and fully planned to pay it off fast, just like the others. But more things went wrong with my car, the repairs cost way more than expected, and life hit me in ways I couldn't control. I've been struggling just trying to keep my head above water -- but I still called them to explain the situation and let them know I want to pay what I can. I even offered them the only money I had: $800 pluse the $434 I already paid. On a $1350 loan that I've only had for two months instead now he wants to $1550 but I'll never be able to pay.
The guy I talked to wouldn't even listen. He cut me off, didn't care about anything I said, and basically told me, "We're going to take your car, and even if we take it, you still have to pay us. We're not responsible."
It wasn't professional. It wasn't compassionate. It honestly made the situation worse. I wasn't asking for a free ride -- I was just asking for some help so I wouldn't end up losing my job, my vehicle, and possibly my home.
I've always respected TitleMax because they helped me in the past. But this location? Completely different. No understanding, no willingness to work with me, nothing. Just threats of taking my car and still making me pay the full balance.
I'm disappointed. Life happens. People hit hard times. A little compassion could go a long way toward keeping customers on their feet. Unfortunately, this time around I didn't see any of that just the feeling that they could care less about me.
