BIG COMPLAINT
Last Friday I brought in my T-4s for the purpose, and an advertised promise of a 'quick refund.'
Yesterday evening I came in to pickup my refund, and was told that my return had been 'suspended', but there was no note on the file.
The lovely young lady I was dealing with phoned and found out that
my T-4s could not be read at the other office. She re-faxed, and confirmed that the office was 'working on it'.
I waited, but it was late, and she told me my pick up would be ready in the morning.
This morning I came in to pick up my refund and was told that it was not ready, and that I would have to wait 48 hours more. Okay, cold, tired, now I got mad!
The morning clerk's reply, was:
"Whenever you make a change you have to wait 48 hours."
DID YOU CATCH THAT?
When.."I"..make a change? I DID NOT MAKE A CHANGE!
It was THEIR office's screw up of:
a) not faxing properly?
b) not leaving a note on the computer file so the problem could have been remedied on Friday, Saturday, Sunday...
c) being told it would be ready this morning
...and now I am being accused of making a change that caused this???
...and I have to wait ANOTHER 48 HOURS???
I AM PISSED OFF ENOUGH I AM TELLING EVERYONE NOT TO DEAL WITH/TRUST MONEY MART WITH THEIR INCOME TAXES...
....word of mouth, "yelp", Facebook Friends, etc., and I even want to post warnings on the door and side of the 107 st and Jasper building, that their
staff is incompetent at a simple job of faxing, their department 'working' on our taxes is incompetent buy 'suspending' a person's return with no explanation given, and then the clerk talks to you like it's YOUR fault,
cause YOU made changes...WHEN YOU DIDN'T!!!
Is this turning into a case of 'false advertising', or just plain old fashioned 'bad' customer service?
Definitely something for 'yelp', when I get spoken to as if it is MY fault.
I have asked that they 'override' their policy and procedures book and pre-release $50 to me TODAY to hold me over until they fix THEIR screw-up, and for my inconvenience.
I don't think that amount is too much to ask. Doubt they'll do it.
This or that...I WILL NOT ever trust them with my taxes again, and encourage people to think twice before doing business, at least at this location, with Money Mart. (No stars here.) read more
