This place is an absolute joke. The lady Veronica is completely unprofessional. Got a phone call…read moretelling me they approved me and I just need to submit the three required documents. I do that that then they come back and tell me my signature wasn't good enough. I did that. Then they tell me they need something with my employer name on it. (Even tho they have my most recent paystub that clearly shows everything) I upped that. Then they tell me they need my entire rent lease agreement. (Even tho 6 months ago they didn't). I upload that. Then they tell me there's no apartment number on the lease. I call my landlord and have him put the unit number on the lease. Then they were closed. Spent 10 hours trying to work this out with them. Today I call back and they tell me I need to bring my lease agreement into the office. These people are an absolute joke and they just waste your time. Veronica should be fired she's an absolute clown

This is not about a particular branch, but about the policies if Mountain America…read more They place unnecessary barriers for their clients in working with other financial institutions. They do not recognize the usual services that link accounts from other institutions. They require micro transactions over a 3 day period in order to allow transfers. They are also not of any help with on the 'shared credit union branch' concept. Mountain America "is longer a part of the CO-OP Shared Branch network. They terminated their shared branching service as of December 31, 2020." Both of these management decisions make it LESS CONVENIENT to do business with Mountain America. I have had other good experience with Mountain America, but this lack of collaboration is an inconvenience for customers and I question whether to continue with my checking there.

He was able to get a checking account set up for me in no time and was even able to help me find a good deal in terms of promotion for opening my account. He explained everything very thoroughly and it's great because the credit union is very simple and user-friendly. I was out of there in no time knowing that my money was safe and knowing that my banking experience would now be much easier and much less painful. I even came back the next day and Tim was there and greeted me like you know me for years. That's when you know that an experience like this is 1 million times better than having to work with the unprofessional, rude people at Wells Fargo. If you're ever in need of an account or any information about a credit union I would highly suggest going to the sugarhouse branch and talking to Tim.

However something I find very frustrating with this location is that the tellers seem to think they work in retail sales, and will hold you hostage trying to open credit cards and new accounts, even ignoring when politely told that the customer is on a strict time limit. I had a hard credit pull take my score from Good to Fair after spending years working to improve it, and then was essentially ghosted by the staff and never able to get the account open! I did not hear back until after the pull had expired and I would need a new one! Very poor service. I have been hounded every single time I am in the lobby about opening more credit cards this past year or more. I can guarantee regardless of whatever the corporate office thinks, NO CUSTOMER likes to be hounded this way! It does NOT work in the credit unions favor. Sales is NOT a tellers job! Customer service is. They are not equivalent. If someone wants a credit card they will ASK. Please learn from your mistakes.

My husband and I own our own home, have no debt, and I work full time - about 6 years with my current employer. My credit score is in the 800's. I applied for a car loan, at Mountain America, as I was purchasing a new SUV. I was denied a car loan through this institution - or only given 1/ 2 the amount, actually. I was amazed! I then applied through the U of U credit union, which I have been a member of for only five years. They quickly approved the loan, with a reasonable interest rate. They were congenial and efficient. If there is a choice between UFirst and Mountain America, U First wins all around! .
