I would rather them be honest instead of lying.... I went to buy a new piece of jewelry and they gave me one that was like mixed matched and the jewelry kept falling out. They could've said that they couldn't find a piece of jewelry that matched and sent me on my way but because they gave me what they did my piercing fell off while I was eating and I bit it, chipping my tooth!!! And on top of that they tried telling me that my piercing was an Ashley. I went to go get my belly button pierced and my ears pierced for the agreed amount of $80 on July 8th at Monarch Studios by a piercer named Kevin. I immediately realized that my ear was pierced wrong & a few days later I realized my belly button was pierced wrong. On July 11th, I called the piercing shop & he said he can re-pierce me for free since he acknowledged that he pierced my belly button wrong. A couple days later I came to the conclusion that I can't trust him to pierce me correctly and that I would just like my money back so I called them again twice on July 13th and they kept declining my calls. I texted them to call me and the piercer finally called me back that same day. I told him I don't want to come in and I would just like a refund so he immediately refunded me and we got off the phone. After a couple weeks I noticed that the $80 has never been refunded and I see that he has indeed cancelled the refund. We agreed that he would be refunding my $80 but he slickly cancelled the refund. He charges using PayPal or Cashapp (under personal not business) so there's no way that I can get my money back. I'm pretty sure he does this on purpose so whoever is unhappy with his services and tries to dispute the charge aren't able to get there money back. Beware. read more

So, I've been really contemplating writing this but I think it's time. I went to get a tattoo on my wrist by a really sweet and nice guy, I'm horrible with names so bear with me, and it came out decent. I went back there to get my second tattoo which was a memorial piece to my father who passed, a week or so later i realized that one of the pool sticks on the tattoo is significantly more pointy than the other on the same tattoo. Which is really a shame because I was so happy to get it. The second thing that I have to write about is the piercing experience. oh my god it was horrible. I have gotten a few very painful piercings done already at another shop such as a double forward helix and a daith. NOTHING could have prepared me for how much pain I was put in when I went to Monarch. I hadn't noticed that my upper forward helix's piercing had fell off a few weeks prior and i needed to get the piercing re-opened. This guy at Monarch pushed a DULL earring INTO MY PIERCING HOLE FOR OVER 5 MINUTES UNTIL IT POPPED BACK OPEN. no needle. nothing but a dull earring being pushed into my ear by a grown man with all of his strength. Then, he put a BUTTERFLY BACKING ON IT and it was so tight that my ear was actually swollen around it?!?! Then, he pierced my nose and when I mentioned I was scared he told me to "suck it up." Then proceeded to pierce it SO SLOWLY and left the needle in my nose for over 5 minutes then proceeded to give me the wrong type of stud to put in it. I am just fuming thinking about that day. Okay rant over. Don't go here tbh. Only gave it an extra star for the nice tattoo guy and the price for my tattoo. read more

I've thought long and hard about writing this review but I've realized that if someone else had put this up my friends wouldn't be in the situations they were in. Last September I went with 3 friends to get piercings from the guy there named Kevin. I typically go to Harley (Rosie) at Another Realm but I know this guy trained her so I thought it would be a similar amazing experience. When we were talking to him he seemed cool but some of the stuff he was saying about using surgical steel jewelry was just off putting. I have nickel allergies so I can't use that jewelry ( another reason I love Rosie so much because she uses titanium). I decided against getting my helix done but my friends got their belly button, forward helix and surface tragus done. He put a hoop in my friend's belly button and it looked crooked but he said her body would naturally straighten it. I didn't believe that but my friend was happy with it. Next was my friend getting her surface tragus done and he put in an eyebrow ring so I asked him about it. He just kept saying that he's been piercing for decades and that he knows what works in peoples bodies. Whatever. Then my third friend gets her forward helix. This man CUT a butterfly back to put in her ear. I was shocked. When he was telling them how to take care of it he just said to use dial or dawn twice a day and they could change everything in a couple of weeks. I thought that because he trained Rosie he would be amazing and be really educated in metal types and jewelry and proper after care. I was wrong. My friends were okay with everything though so we left and a couple of weeks later they were all complaining about the way the piercings were healing. I took them to Black Pearl (it's since changed names to Another Realm Tattoo) and had Rosie look at everything. She stayed professional but I could tell she was so disappointed in what was done to them. She ended up removing everything for them. The hoop he put in my friend's belly button wasn't closed all the way so it ended up healing on the top half and was oozing pus really bad. The forward helix jewelry had sunk into her ear and created a missive hole. And my other friend now has a scar on her face from the eyebrow bar he put in. I'm putting this review now because a coworker got her rook pierced by him a couple of months ago and it's now threadbare thin and will most likely scar her. She said Kevin had good reviews so she didn't know any better. Hopefully people will read this in the future and do more research on who they let put holes in their bodies read more

In December I came to get two earlobe piercings in each ear. The piercer made two very big mistakes. Firstly, he put in earrings with butterfly backs which are not suitable for fresh piercings because they are extremely difficult to clean the gunk out of. Secondly, in my seconds, he put in these super tiny 2 mm studs which are way too small. I kept having to push my seconds out because they kept sinking into my ear. Yesterday, my second earring on my right ear was completely inside my earlobe. I tried to take out the earring but was struggling to take it out. The gem side slipped out of my hand and went inside of my ear. PAIN. I had to pull the earring completely through my ear, gem and all, because the butterfly back was completely jammed full of gunk. My ear started bleeding, too. And, to top it all off, he told me I could change my earrings starting just 3 weeks after! This is way too soon according to every source I could find, including the website of the Association of Professional Piercers (safepiercing.org). read more

Went to breezy to get a tattoo here at this shop. She dug super deep into me and called me the f slur at one point when I asked her to lighten up some. She kept wiping me without gloves on and other sketchy things. I got MRSA and had to go on meds for over a week. This shop need to be looked into. None of this is ok. read more

However, the tat I had in my head, and what I believed him to understand and agree to put on my wrist to fix the previous artist's neglect of my tat request, wasn't what this above artist ended up doing! I was very disappointed only because.... it should be what I described to him prior to his start! I believe he thought he was doing what I requested...or did it anyway thinking I would like it in the end..... Which, I do! It grew on me! So, all good in the end! Got my first ever two tats here back in November. I was nervous and not knowing what to expect, but the artist explained what she was doing, step by step and took her time. All other artists were friendly. Studio was clean and organized. Music not blaring, which is a good thing. Would come back here for future tats. Good work by artists. read more

Please take the time to read before you purchase a gift certificate & if you recently have schedule soon: I honestly contemplated posting this for a while but here it goes. Yesterday my cousin and I went get a small piece for our recently passed grandpa. We had planned on paying with a gift certificate I received late Christmas [ (12/30/17) ticket #60 for one hundred twenty dollars issued by "ToRi" ] our tattoos were very small and combined were both done within 10 minutes. (Minus the station/equipment cleaning) When proceeding to check out the concern of the receptionist and artist was made obvious. So they called over "Jamie" the co owner who then informed me their gift certificates "expire." Reason being "a lot of people get gift certificates and never use them so we put an expiration date. They used to be good for a year but now its only 6 months." If anybody can point this out in black and white listed anywhere at all, I would greatly appreciate it. (Also, he's explanation sounded like bull immediately coming out of him mouth) it felt like a major rip off! Our $100 worth of tattoo plus tip went to $240... The attitude and vibe completely shifted... I of course went to their convenient ATM and withdrew 120 dollars to cover our tattoos and tip. Paid and gave them my worthless certificate (which hindsight I should've kept, considering I just scrolled through a year and a half worth of Facebook, and their website to find that it was never posted or made notice.) I have to say Claire was really awesome, and professional handling the situation, and I could see the genuine shock I n her eyes. It really sucked for an awesome experience to end so bitterly. I ended up calling and asking them to post that information on Facebook to let all the other people who recently gifted their loved ones with "gifts that last a life time" that they better get there quick, or the money you already paid won't be "valid."
