I was stationed at Spang AFB from 86 to 89 and ate here any chance we had. Their food is exceptional and all the pomme fritz you could eat with the dinner. You never needed more! Great, the best pilsner beer in the world too! Bitburger pilsner! Fond memories! read more

We recently visited Mom's Place and we were blown away. Beware...cash only. No card. Totally worth the visit! Great service and the food was AMAZING! We went back a second time and it was well worth it! Hands down, the Spinach Tortellini was the best I've ever tasted. This is a MUST if you are in the Spangdahlem area! read more

We lived upstairs for 2 years. This is the best restaurant in Germany, Anywhere !!! Oma and Opa were wonderful friends! Horst and Marlice were like family too! Stopped into Mom's as it's close to home. We've just moved into the village and need to try it all. Mom's is a small restaurant with a homey feel. The daily buffet is exceptionally well priced and generally has schnitzel vegetable soup and pasta. Mom's wasn't crowded, but we arrived close to the 2 pm close. I had a Bitburger bier and the buffet. the schnitzel was delicious as was the potato. The star of the show though was the soup. Yes I went back, and ordered a side of bread for dipping. It was a tomato base soup, which I'm a sucker for, but still stands up as one of the better tomato soups I've enjoyed. I'm super grateful this restaurant is within walking distance of my new home, and I hope to return soon to try a meal off the regular menu. read more

For authentic Italian and huge portions for the price, and taste, you can't beat this place. The Chef is from Rome and the restaurant was previously located in the village of Spiecher. For those who remember Mom's for the awesome German cuisine, never fear because they are still dishing out the Jaeger Shnitzle just as before. We stopped in here on a recommendation of a coworker. The first time I went with my wife and kids. The food was good, I ordered a schnitzel, the pepper sauce aw terrific. I also enjoyed the salad as well. The second time I had the buffet and I w more impressed. The buffet was €6 and the food was a lot better. I don't recall what the soup was but I loved it. Stopped in here while looking for apartments in the area. Had a Warsteiner and the Deergoulash und Spätzle. It was delicious tender deer chunks in a meat sauce with Spätzle. It hit the spot, and I look forward to dining in more of these small places! read more

This was my first experience with genuine German food and I was more than impressed, I ordered the jagerschnitzeil (spelling?) and had the hefewiezen, blew my mind! The staff was absolutely amazing and I tried the rest of my parties meals, which included almost everything on the dinner menu, it was out of this world, I would recommend moms to every one who has the chance to eat here. This was one of my favorite places to eat while stationed in Germany, even had a few months where I got dinner from here once a week. To this date the best salad I have had in my life was from here. The special salad with house dressing, and warm seasoned chicken was amazing. If I was close and could pull it off I would swing back through the Eifel area just to order this salad. read more
