After an internet search we came across a well reviewed place that turned out not be available, but recommended Salerno In Alto Mare. We talked to the owner on the phone and communicated via email. It turned out to be very hard to locate even though we new the square/piazza that it was in. I posted a picture that shows what the building and front door looks like. Owner was very friendly and genuinely eager to do what he could to help us. Breakfasts were very good. Views were fairly good for a location a bit off the water. We did experience what we didn't like about B&Bs with a couple of Swiss girls that woke us at 0130 one morning with progressively louder laughter. Banging on the wall stopped it thankfully. We'll ignore the thoughtlessness of these clients towards our opinion of the owner and facility. For the price it was a good location, good service and the bedroom and private bathroom were clean and in good shape. We would consider staying here again if visiting the Salerno area, and recommend to others.

La Garconniere is a small, family run bed and breakfast centrally located in Salerno. The…read morebuilding was under construction when we were there, so there was some dust and it was a little noisy during the day, but it did not bother us. Also, you have to climb a couple flights of stairs to the rooms, and I did not see an elevator. The rooms were comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. We were traveling with some friends, and we had two bedrooms next to each other. Both had bathrooms that were across the hall. This was really no problem for us because we all knew each other, but some people may not like the idea of crossing paths with strangers in the night. Breakfast is served by the family in a dining room -- yogurt, cereal, meat, cheese, pastries, juice and coffee. The owner would usually make an appearance around breakfast time to say hello. He did not speak English, and we did not speak Italian very well, but they really make an effort. His wife and daughters were often around, and the daughters were great translators during check-in, check-out, and answered many questions for us. We stayed in Salerno towards the end of a couple weeks traveling throughout Italy, and we actually liked the fact that many people did not speak English and we were forced to struggle with some Italian. Overall, I highly recommend both Salerno and La Garconniere for a visit to Italy's Amalfi Coast.

It says multi room but it's just one big open space with a bed and a pull out. Two other beds hidden in a wall. The host Elena is a mean vindictive spoiled brat. All she does is complain about bad reviews. It's way over priced for the options that are around. A hotel is a much better option. This place is just a money maker for her. By the time you get there and realize how bad it is it's too late. Stay away from this idiot
