It is well lit , a ton of stations and beautifully decorated. All that visually tell you "you have arrived. Front desk gals are welcoming offering you tea, coffee or water while you wait on comfortable furniture. I wear glasses and was given plastic ear pieces to put over my glasses so the color wouldn't stain my glasses and I could still wear them to read, scroll to pass the time during the hair color wait. Since I've been watching theold series " Samantha takes Over" ( the platinum blonde who helps salons) I asked a very important question, at least according to Samantha...How often are the owners here. I was told that there are 2 owners and they are always present splitting time while the salon is open and both are doing hair while they are there. No wonder the Foundry has stayed in business as long as it has and gives a cool , professional vibe since the owners know the appearance and running a salon reflects who they are. I went in with very long hair with blondish highlights, I asked for a cooper red color and 1 inch cut off with layers. The color is pretty but there are a few spots that didn't get color. The cut is the worst haircut I've ever had! She cut off 5-6 inches in the front and like 3-4 in the back, it looks like a bob and a mullet had a baby, I can't even explain what this haircut is. I will be wearing my hair up (which is a challenge in itself because of the weird cut) until this awful haircut grows out.

I've gone through stages where I've had pink and black hair, auburn hair, white blonde, etc. I've had my hair dark brown for the past two years now and decided I wanted to go back to my natural hair color (dirty blonde). I was a little hesitant for the change since I once went back to my natural color from red hair within one session and my hair was completely fried and took two months to finally feel manageable. Crystal took care of me when I went in back in December and I told her what I was wanting to do and she told me immediately that one session was not going to cut it since my hair would be damaged. I expected as much and was really grateful that she was up front about that instead of trying to do it all in one session. She was really nice to me and made me feel comfortable despite being hungover and barely able to function. I had a wedding to attend the day of getting my hair done and everyone complimented it. So while my hair wasn't entirely blonde, it was still beautiful and lightened enough for people to notice. I can't wait to make my next appointment to continue working on this mop of hair that I've got.

Before my appointment, the stylist had told me that she would perform a color swatch on my hair to assess whether my desired color could be achieved. However, the color swatch was not performed. The stylist assured me that she felt confident she could achieve the color, while explaining that she would stop the service if my hair showed any signs of damage. The stylist recommended a partial balayage, and I scheduled an appointment with her. When scheduling, I asked about availability, and she told me rather bluntly that she "did not work Saturdays." While her tone wasn't the nicest, I understand not working Saturdays. After reflecting on the overall experience, and deciding that Saturdays are the most convenient day for me, I later contacted another stylist at the same salon who appeared capable of achieving my desired color. After consulting with the original stylist, the second stylist indicated that she could perform the service, and said she was "excited for the appointment." When I contacted the front desk about scheduling with the second stylist, the receptionist told me that my original stylist would actually be working that Saturday. This was frustrating, as I had specifically been told by the original stylist that she did not work Saturdays. I proceeded to schedule with the second stylist, who was planning to do a partial highlights rather than a balayage (what I typically have done). The difference in service and price was not my concern; my priority was finding someone who could achieve my desired color. I subsequently received an email from the salon canceling my appointment because they did not feel they were the best fit for my hair goals. I responded to that email but never received a reply. I understand that a salon may ultimately decide that a client's goals are not the right fit for its services. However, the initial assurances about achieving my desired color, the failure to perform the promised color swatch, the conflicting information about Saturday availability, and the lack of communication after my appointment was canceled made the overall experience frustrating and disappointing. I would have appreciated greater transparency and more professional communication throughout the process.
