Gaslighting, Sexist, and Medically Contradictory. Do NOT come here…read more I came to Twin Cities Dermatology as a patient with a severe, documented skin condition (Prurigo Nodularis). What I found was a clinic that actively gaslit me, dismissed my documented symptoms, and attempted to rewrite my medical history to avoid taking responsibility. The Gaslighting: I presented with clear, hard nodules on my forehead and body. They initially documented my diagnosis correctly as "Prurigo Nodularis" and started me on a heavy-duty biologic (Dupixent) along with intralesional injections. However, after I raised concerns about my disability paperwork and asked for accommodations, they suddenly changed their tune. They began calling my condition "just eczema." You don't prescribe a powerful biologic like Dupixent for "just eczema." That is a contradiction. They are trying to downplay the severity of my condition to avoid liability. The Sexism: The clinic appears to be exclusively staffed by women, with only one male provider (who is gay). This is not a coincidence. They systematically dismiss straight, Black men as "difficult" or "argumentative" patients. They ignored my explicit request to exclude a specific provider from my sessions. I was not treated with respect or dignity; I was treated like an inconvenience. Refusal to Accommodate: Despite having documented medical records showing I have not been able to work due to the severity of my condition (sleep disruption, concentration issues, mood impacts), they refused to sign my (Disability) form. They claimed they couldn't assess my limitations, despite their own notes stating that my condition impacts my daily activities. Bottom Line: This clinic is not a place for healing. It is a place to be dismissed, gaslit, and under-treated. The doctor and staff will lie to protect themselves rather than help their patients. Do your research, bring your own documentation, and be prepared to fight for basic respect. I will never be returning here, and I hope you won't either.

I seriously look at my calendar for my next free weekend for facials and peels!! I won't give you my Aesthetician's name (hey-----her schedule is getting harder and harder for me!) but so far I've talked w/a few of the other Spa staff and all are extremely easy to talk to, no matter what the embarassing breakout could be. I've gone through two peels (vitalize and rejuvanize) and a few microdermabrasions and have never had any issues whatsoever (besides the normal effect of a peel). I notice a huge difference in my wrinkles, poors and elasticity! Even my friends, family and coworkers are impressed and a few go to the Spa now. I highly recommend Uptown Derm & Spa for medical visits and spa treatments over anywhere else.

Guess what it's almost August 5th and I have not had any communication with them at all. I saw Dr. Scheuer & she was so kind, professional, & thorough. I had a skin exam, which was thorough & gentle, while seemingly fast. She was able to answer all of my questions, prescribed me some medication, & recommended a follow-up; I'm actually excited to get to come back in a couple of months.
