I embrace and enjoy my gray hair and happily I no longer color. Yet, embracing curly hair has been…read morea struggle. Enter Marissa. I have had several hair stylists over the past few years. Marissa is the only one to understand curly hair and consistently give me a haircut that works. I am often complimented on my hair. Now if I could just find the perfect product to combat this summer's high humidity!

SHADY BUSINESS**** I had short black hair & was in a chair for 5 hours, left with a wet head,…read moreBURNED scalp that is scabbing badly & bleeding, uneven haircut, and a single BASIC overall color with no dimension that I did not agree to & could have done by myself with $20 & an hour. I went here on Friday March 22, 2024 at 12pm to an appointment with Cary. Melissa helped Cary- and said the stripey red/orange hairstyle I showed her on my phone would be better to choose than the dark purple option I had. Agreed. Cary began to do my hair, bleaching all except the roots, wash, dried, applied bleach to my roots, then she left the room and disappeared* for over 25 minutes, my scalp was hot & burning and my roots were bright blonde, she washed & dried my hair again- the rest of my hair was a medium brassy color, but my roots were still lighter. Cary colored my hair, & made it known she was in a hurry to leave, so after 5 hours I left with my hair completely wet and did not get to see the final result until I got home and dried it myself. My hair is a dark reddish brown now, all over with no texture, no foils used. The haircut is uneven, the longest part of my hair on the left side is about 2 cm shorter than the longest hair on my right side. Today Monday March 25th, I called to ask for the refund & was told that I would receive a call at 12:30pm from Melissa. (They were closed after I got home to dry my hair Friday, then closed through Saturday and Sunday) I didn't get the call so I went in myself. I stood waiting in the main lobby for over 10 minutes before a person with short brown hair, Cathy, guided me to a back room, likely to hide this crime from other clients. Melissa joined her. I showed them the picture of what I wanted vs what I got- they could see it in person & obviously it is not close at all. They tried saying it is a process but for them to agree to a hair color that cost me $240 that is not even close to the picture I showed them initially, bleaching the life out of my hair/scalp for over an hour after I was told Cary could achieve pretty close- that is just a blatant lie. Does this look "close" to you? Wouldn't you be upset if this was you? If they lied to your face and took your money, and made your hair look like a bad wig. Melissa continued to patronize & offered to teach me why my hair didn't look anywhere close to the picture that was agreed on, then cathy proceeded to ask me a completely irrelevant question in a demeaning tone, "are you in Cosmetology school" I don't need to be in cosmetology to know this is not even close to what was agreed on. Melissa then told me I should've made a consultation appointment instead of an actual appointment. Oh. Now they tell me. Two women lied to me, I'm burned and my hair looks tragic. I got a chemical peel 3 weeks ago and they tried to blame the burning INTO MY HAIRLINE on that. Ladies you know chemical peels don't go into your hairline & has nothing to do with my scalp being burned. Then Cathy proceeded to then say "why didn't you do it yourself then?" Do I need to say more. If I would've known how disappointing it was going to be, I gladly would have went anywhere else. Cathy proceeds further to tell me the owners mom is in the hospital, multiple times so that's why she can't give me a full refund. Going to a business that tells me they are going to provide a specific service, I don't expect or find it alright to be guilt tripped into feeling badly for asking for a refund on a service that was agreed on & that I expected to be done correctly the first time, not rushed out of the door with a wet head, a burnt scalp, and no where close to the result that was agreed upon. Prayers have been sent, but again, it is not relevant with issuing a proper refund to a client that was lied to, burned, then demeaned for not being in cosmetology school or doing my hair myself. For your place of "business" to rush me out of the door looking & feeling like trash, & to not return my money says it all. This place does not value women, their time or their money.
