Rockyview General Hospital - This is the note that comes on green sleeves, see how it says "PROPERTY of the patient"? They knew what they were doing.

Had a wonderful experience at this Hospital. I had an appointment here with a specialist. They…read morecalled me to tell what time to show up. I asked for directions and where to park. They gave me perfect directions! I park my vehicle and paid at the parking terminal where you enter your license plate and pay by card or change for how long you think you'll be staying, take the ticket with you. On entering the Hospital Main Entrance. There are a few tables for Covid screening and given a fresh mask. I have never been here before and had a red vested person take me to where I had to go, good thing it was a bit confusing. :-/ If I had trouble getting back I could ask for assistance to get back to the entrance. I didn't, I just followed the green arrows on the floor. All in all I was in and out within 30 minutes. Staff were super friendly. Plenty of paid parking with easy access from 14 street SW with easy to navigate signs.

Lots of vital signs taking. have not seen a single doctor, only nurses. no water fountains , nothing much for food besides the very expensive cafeteria 5min walk away. toilets are dirty. No doctors was available overnight, wait times on the website is laughable at best. Too bad staff and management doesn't have to come in as a regular patient with no special needs. I wonder how they would find the situation. please avoid Rockyview as much as possible.

People waiting in emergency being very very rude to the medical staff and expect to be treated with kindness! Think again!!! How would you react if you were on the receiving end of that abuse? Non emergencies could have gone to their family Doctor or a urgent care faculty. Being rude is not going to get special treatment of any kind. Yes, it's hard on everyone's mental patients of waiting. I'm not a person that goes to the hospital with a sniffle or a cough or even a fever. To some people they feel this is their only option, and with this it puts a stain on the emergency system. The nurses took very good care of my mom from the time she arrived to the time she was admitted for a stay. With extensive testing they did find many issues and is now being treated. (Even my dad has been to this hospital 8 years ago for a medical emergency. Even back then we had great medical attention) Kindness, Friendliness with a smile is what you'll get in return. With that said: it makes the medical staff feel better while doing this stressful job they love. -Easy access from Deerfoot Trail or Stoney Trail in the deep south -Emergency parking is pay parking -Limited free 2 hour street parking on the south side. (Good luck in finding a spot) -Plenty of underground pay parking for longer hospital visits or short. For a hospital that is 10 years old still has plenty of room for expansion and is in a great location to service Calgary south and towns. I would like to say I would be returning because of the great prognosis and treatment. But medically I hope not.

My issue happened when I asked them to fax a prescription through to my pharmacy. The unit head was frankly bordering on rude and told me they don't do that anymore. The nurse told her that the doctor said they could. She firmly said no they don't. I explained to her that if she did fax it through I could just Uber home. The pharmacy would deliver. If not I would have to Uber to the pharmacy, wait for it to be filled and Uber home and that I really wasn't feeling well. She finally relented but was clearly annoyed. After all that fuss I handed her the fax number, she turned to the machine right behind her and sent it. That took her 30 seconds to send it. If patients need a script faxed through they should do it to help. Patients leaving urgent care are often feeling unwell or in pain. Yet they don't want to spend 30 seconds sending a fax, and instead want the patients to go to their pharmacy and wait for it to be filled before going home. I've been to multiple doctors / specialists and have never had an issue with them faxing scripts.

It was quite the contrary, I was signed in and immediately taken to the back due to my health issue. The team in the back were so accommodating, they checked on me consistently, asking if I needed anything. Carly, one of the nurses was amazing! She took the time to ask questions and really showed her passion for taking care of people. Dr Penny was always checking in with me, discussing course of action and what options I had. It was the complete opposite of the experiences I have had in other ER settings! I would definitely recommend this Urgent Care center to anyone! The ONLY complaint I have...they have no food in the building!!

To sum it up: - The technical amenities and equipment was exceptional - The experience with the first emergency care was overall positive. Definitely could be faster, but considering how crippled I was, there was no where to rush - once I was placed to the room, I was pleased and surprised by the care I was given by the nurses night shift. They were so amazing! Thank you for making the stay in the hospital so pleasant for me! - waiting time for the surgery was frustrating, however the result was great and the surgeon was super experienced and nice person. - I left the hospital next day after I faked that I have no pain and did my best to perform some tricks with the crutches - what was absolutely terrible was the food. I assume they provide such a shi**y food to make you get out from the hospital soon. Which is an ok strategy I guess. However, I was surprised how unhealthy the food provided in the hospital can be. - last think to mention - pills and pain killers. I couldn't understand the amount of pain killers served to everyone. Either they got some kickback from the Tylenol distributor or they just wan't to drug you so you don't feel pain and get out from the Hospital soon. I took less than half of them but still could easily consider myself a crackhead knowing the amount of Acetaminophen I got into my system... Overall I am very thankful for the care and help. Really shocked to realize how some patients act and behave when the nurses are trying to help them. Shame on you grumpy complainers and hypochondriacs (of all ages).
