I already wrote a review on google but I just noticed Dr. Wang only have 1 review here on Yelp. So, I thought I would like to share our story with yelp users. We originated from Asia and my family has always like the idea of Chinese Medicine. We like to use Traditional Chinese Medicine in our home country as a way to keep ourselves healthy. When we moved to Calgary few year ago, we were looking for a good Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor. Our family friend recommended us to see Dr. Wang from Longevity. The first time we came to Longevity, we can tell Longevity is authentic with their practice. This is the biggest Chinese Medicine clinic that we know in Calgary. We often come here for the Traditional Chinese Medicine and sometimes for the acupuncture session. There is no need to cook the Chinese Medicine and it's very convenient to take. The Chinese Medicine formula all come in extraction form and you can request Dr. Wang to press the extraction into tablet form. By the way, Dr. Wang will only formulate after the consultation and diagnosis procedure. Also, Dr. Wang can be fairly busy. He only sees his patients by appointment, so you must schedule the appointment before arrival. Waiting time might be expected depends on his schedule that day. We don't mind the waiting time, his service is worth the wait. The location of this clinic is easy to locate and easy parking space outside. The atmosphere of this clinic is soothing and relaxing. Dr. Wang is proficient with his work. Dr. Wang treated me, my sister, my mother and my 80 years old grandmother. Dr. Wang is fluent in 4 languages (Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, and English) and that's a big bonus for us. Also, Dr. Wang has a really good sense of humor and he always tries to make everyone feel comfortable during consultation and treatment. He can make you laugh and also being professional at the same time. Dr. Wang is fluent in both Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. His knowledge is very liberal and never biased. For example, a few years ago my mother had a lot cramping in her lower abdominal region. After the consultation, Dr. Wang was the first and only doctor that suggested my mother should get a medical imagining done for hernia concern. Dr. Wang told my mother if it's a hernia, she must get Western treatment, because the surgical option is necessary for a hernia. A few weeks later, my mother had her confirmation and it was a hernia. My mother had western treatment for it and she got better. My mother and I came back and thanked Dr. Wang. My mother later took some Chinese formula from Dr. Wang and she recovered gracefully. She is now pain-free and doing great. We really appreciate his services and his care. I inquired about their services and how much an initial visit is with the homeopath. The first visit is $135, which I thought was very reasonable, they spend 1.5 to 2 hours with you. It turned out that one of the women was Dr. Kerissa Neilsen, one of the two homeopaths. She took me to the side and asked why I was interested in seeing a homeopath. I told her about my fatigue and a few other things I have been dealing with for a while now. She asked if I knew if my hormones and thyroid are functioning properly. I told her that my thyroid is good, but hormones I don't know about. She asked about things like PMS and painful periods, telling me that if your hormones are balanced you should not have those things. Which seemed unbelievable, that only seems like a dream to me. She recommended I come and see her and we could go over things in more detail, she was already confident that she could help me. I was so impressed with the fact that she took some time just to talk with me a bit, when a practitioner is confident in their abilities it brings me a sigh of relief. I asked her about their craniosacral therapy, she said that their therapist is one of the best in that modality, that is all she does. A craniosacral session costs $150, which did seem like a lot to me. The receptionist wrote down a bunch of information for me. Their homeopathic medicines cost $9.40 each. A follow up visit, which she said is usually after a month, is $100. They also offer traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. She asked my name, thanked me for coming in and said if I have any more questions to feel free to call or drop back in. I've made an appointment with Dr. Nielsen and cannot wait to hear her diagnosis. I was so impressed with my initial experience with Nielsen Homeopathic, I was treated so well and the Dr. showed me personal interest right off the bat. I have no doubt that this is a great place to come for a natural approach to anyone's health and well being.

The brace was large, heavy looking and ran the length of her leg. She walked quite slow, had a significant limp, and when I greeted her and looked her in the eye, she seemed very unhappy, and kind of........defeated. This all struck me where I live because that so easily could have been me, and would have been me, had I not gotten involved with Merrylee and her compassionate, talented colleagues at Bonavista Physio. It takes special people to work with cases like mine, week in and week out, investing quality time, giving direction, support and encouragement. I really got that at Bonavista. My quality of life today speaks to their awesome ability to transform, with reasonable client cooperation, of course, a devastating injury into a work of healing. A big part of what I took away from Bonavista Physio is education. I now know what stretching and strengthening moves to do twice a day, I have learned how to intelligently increase degree of difficulty, when and how to just chill, recognize a flare-up and what to do about it, although - probably due to my physio inspired level of fitness - they are rare. And, funnily enough, when the movements that were specifically designed for my healing get fun, and they did, things get kind of magical. I am actually happier and more fit now than I was before my knee injury. As part of my rehabilitation, I started walking 10-15 min a day, and now go for 35-50 min walks (although the other day I hit 63 min, just sayin') 6 days a week. I have lost about 50 pounds in the process, and friends, in all honesty, all of this simply would not have happened without the awesome direction and support I got at Bonavista Physio. As I left the grocery store, walking happily and easily in the sunshine, I realized just how lucky I am. I mean, I frolic now, for reals. All of them are quite satisfied. He is friendly, listens to your concerns, and does an excellent job - without the pressure to return repeatedly if it's not necessary. He will always recommend what treatments you NEED, and then leave the choice to you. I see him once a month or so for maintenance, and more often as needed when I do dumb stuff like take a fall or sleep funny. To top it all off, his rates are reasonable and my insurance ends up covering the whole fee so there's no extra charge over and above! Highly recommended.
