I had an early morning train and wanted to grab an espresso and a pastry for the long ride through Italy and Moka was close to my platform in the Porta Nuova train station in Turin. I took a quick espresso at the bar and got a croissant to go. This location is open every day from 5:30 am - 8:00 pm.
This Moka has the standard pastry case and offerings, but it's also a full service bar (both for coffee and drinks). The setting is small yet quite modern and elegant, making it a great place to hang out for an aperitif later in the day. They also have real meals (gourmet sandwiches and more), but it's the perfect place to get a simple bakery good on the go.
My espresso was excellent, as is the case with most coffees in Italy. My croissant was strange, sort of a cracked wheat dough but covered in sugar. I guess it was a good healthy / not-so-healthy combo. read more
