Stan is the Man!! I brought my amp to a reputable tech to find an intermittent problem. He was very busy and had my amp for weeks before he was even able to look at it. I finally got it back only to find that it still had the same problem. Some months later I found Stan at Mojotronics. He took my amp and was able to look at it in a much more timely fashion. He could not initially find the problem but did not give up. His persistence paid off and he was able to find what appeared to be a cold solder joint. These are one of the most difficult problems to find because It can create an intermittent problem. Stan was able to fix it and charged me much less than the first tech. He will now get all of my Guitar amp work. I highly recommend Stan, he is thorough, knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and a Pleasure to deal with!! Bring you're amp to Stan at Mojotronics!!!!! read more

Stan at Mojotronix amp repair is awesome. He did a great job on my 1967 Fender Showman very quickly and at great price. He repaired a ticking vibrato circuit, and got the noise out of the amp, as well as a general maintenance service, power tube change, bias, tension tube sockets and fixed some previously done bad soldering that someone else had done. Super knowledgeable and a great guy. Not to mention he is a great guitar player too! Highly recommended! read more

Stan Bailey came highly recommended by a co-worker of mine and I thought I'd give him a shot at repairing my amps. My friend and I brought two amps each to his shop. I brought him a Fender Blues Deluxe and a Phil Jones BG-150 bass amp. My friend brought his Fender Champ and an Ernie Ball amp, which had seen better days. When we picked up the amps they sounded fantastic and Stan had repaired all the glitches and annoying issues these four amps had (i.e. scratchy pots, noise and non-functioning gain pot, etc.). Stan is very personable, knowledgeable and never talks down to you if you don't understand the technical aspects of amplifiers. In addition, his prices are more than reasonable; my friend and I had expected to pay much more for his services. read more

Stan was very knowledgable, friendly, and remained gracious when I asked him if I could pick up my amp a few days early, which I know was an inconvenience in his busy schedule. Stan clearly cares about his craft. When I told him about what I thought might need changing in my '73 Marshall, he tested them and convinced me to keep the original parts in tact. I really appreciate that display of integrity and respect for old components. I will definitely be taking my amps to him in the future. Thank you, Stan! read more

I brought a noisy Fender Pro Junior III to Stan in order to help me quiet the amp down and install an adjustable bias trim pot. We also went through my stash of NOS tubes to find the quietest and most closely matched sets (using Stan's high quality tube tester and our ears). Stan also re-laced the internal wiring of the Pro Jr. to help minimize the noise issues. Stan did the repair on the fly since I'd driven a fair distance to get there. What amp tech does that? None in my experience. Even on simple repairs/mods like these. read more

I've used Mojotronix for repair on multiple amplifiers and was pleased each time. He works efficiently, prices are reasonable, and appreciate his expertise across all amp brands. Highly recommended. read more

Once again Stan did a great job at a very fair price with a quick turn-around time. I, myself, repair guitars and I appreciate when others run a solid, no bullshit operation. See you next time! read more

Stan agreed to take on an off brand Leslie speaker I have that was damaged in transit after a purchase on EBay. He took on the challenge and rose to the occasion and now it's sounding great! In my opinion, best repair person in the North Bay! Go see Stan! read more

I brought my Ampeg SVT-Classic to Mojotronix for repair when it had a problem with randomly tripping itself into standby mode. Stan let me know ahead of time what he thought the problem might be, and about the approach he was taking to my repair. Upon picking up the unit he told me all about what he encountered during the repair, and the steps he took to fix it. This was my first experience with Stan, and he's earned my repeat business. I'll be going back to Mojotronix for my amp repair needs in the future without a doubt. Very reasonably priced service, quick turnaround time, and solid reliability. Use Mojotronix, you won't regret it! read more

Stan did an amazing job with my Sovtek Mig 100. I bought it a few weeks back off CL and it needed a run through, some new switches and to be re-tubed. Stan did it all in quick fashion and his rates are very reasonable. If you're looking for an amp guy, you found him. Stan is the man. read more

Stan had the dead JCM 800 in and out in a week at $140. That includes a new JJ 12AX7 , 3 caps and some new knobs. A really nice guy, to boot. The 800 screams now, back to it's former glory. Thanks, again Stan. read more

My son's Blues Junior tube amp was dying a slow death, but Stan got it up and rockin' before we could finish our lunch. And the cost was less than half of what we were being quoted elsewhere in the Bay Area. Hope that doesn't cause it to go up, but it is worth the extra drive time. read more

Stan did a great job getting my old twin reverb back into great sounding shape. He obviously love the work he does and is very good at it.

Stan is, simply, outstanding! Great guy who KNOWS his craft. Working on tube amps is an art...he does so with great pride and always does a thorough job with a down-to-earth approach. Only ONE person on this planet will touch my Vintage (Original) 1987 100 watt Silver Jubilee head...and that is Stan. He recently re-tubed it with a matched quartet of the New Sensor Reissue Mullard EL-34's (which sound incredible), found a loss of signal in the Phase Inverter (V3), and put in a perfectly-matched Mullard 12ax7. Tone Heaven! My Silver Jubilee has never put out such incredible tone like this. It sounds...divine! Stan is real & honest, yet a humble genius. I recommend him with the highest regard - trust and respect are earned, and Stan has both of mine, completely. read more

Stan's the man! My Val King 18 watt 6v6 took a dump on me. Brought it to Stan and he had it flying high again in 5 days. Sounds better than ever! Nice guy, very reasonable prices, great service..... what's not to like? He even was down in my area (the peninsula) and dropped off the amp! From here on I will only use Stan to service my vintage amps. I highly recommend using Mojotronix for any amp repairs. read more

I bought a used Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 50 off of Craigslist that ended up having some issues with the clean channel as well as general crackling sounds and other weirdness. The amp has 5 circuit boards and is not easy to fix but I called Stan and he said to bring it over. He let me know that he would call me when he found out what the problem was so there would be no surprises. He did just that, then fixed the amp for a reasonable price, I picked it up on time and it played better than a new amp. I feel really lucky to have an excellent amplifier tech close by. read more

Stan did a great job with my vintage amp. Reasonable rates and quick service. Thanks!

Stan at Mojotronix is a real find. I took my Voodoo modified Peavey 5150 II to him to determine the cause of a volume swell that reared it's ugly head after leaving the amp on for a few minutes. One thing that I really appreciate about Stan is that he is clear about the $50 bench fee up-front. He also will come down his many stairs to the street parking in front of his house, and carry your amp up to the shop for you. I left the amp with him from 1.5 to 2 weeks and he couldn't get it to misbehave. The problem, as it turns out, was a cable ribbon cable connector that Voodoo never fully re-connected! Stan noticed it early on in the trouble-shooting process and just plugged it in. The amp has worked perfectly ever since. When I picked up the amp, Stan told me that the $50 bench fee could be applied to any future work that I may need done. What a guy!!! I will be taking all of my guitar amplifier to Stan at Mojotronix! read more

Stan is a great "Amp Guy" who knows TONE...Stan did an amazing job on my 1966 Fender Twin Reverb (in addition to other work). I simply would not trust that baby to anyone but the best. Stan exceeded my expectations and really saved that amp.. Great, quick service at reasonable prices. What more could you ask for? Mojotronix Rocks!! read more

Stan did an excellent job on my Tone King. He really went above and beyond to check and double check that the problem wouldn't reproduce itself. He ran it for a long time, cleaned it thoroughly, and as luck would have it even delivered it to me. I can't recommend him enough, especially after dealing with nearly every other amp repair in the area. read more

Got an amp you need repaired or hot rodded? Stan is the guy! He knows amps forwards and backwards and TONE and is reasonable. He did a great job installing a voltage regulator in my Marshall. Its now totally off the hook!! Thanks Stan!! read more

Hate to do this, I turned in a Peavey JSX to Stan and a month later he said it was a very complex amplifier and could not determine the source of a volume loss in channels 2 and 3. When I left the amplfier with Stan he said he was comfortable working on it and felt he could handle the repair. A month later he reurned my amplifier un-repaired and kept the $50 which he originally said was for parts to repair if needed but said that he would keep the $50 for time spent - I was ok with this until I got my amplifier home and found many loose screws, other screws and nuts replaced with non-original items and that the Noise Gate Knob was broken! This knob was in perfect working condition when I turned the amplifier in. Stan said that he noted the knob was funny and that it broke when He tried to work with it the only problem is I had to find this out when I got the amplifier home! Maybe Stan does better for Pro guitar players or on different occasions but this one really hurt and I felt compelled to leave bad feedback! I asked for my $50 back after the discovery of the broken knob because now I have something else to repair that was not there before - Either way this was the worst repair experience I have ever had on anything. I would not recommend Mojotronix for your amplifier repair - hopefully this post will keep him honest into the future for any one who wants to risk having him repair their amplifier. read more
