Great service, amazing food, horrible management. Pay the servers more. THE OWNER IS STINGYYYY. I'm a United States Marine, and was told discounts for veterans are only for their meal. I've been here multiple times and it's always been my whole bill. All of a sudden that's a problem? I already spent $40 and you only want to do 10% on the one meal? Sorry, but when you get me, you get my wife. We are one. On top of it all, $6.50 for two soft drinks where 80% of it is ice and no refill is ridiculous. This is the type of place where you get water, fill up on chips, eat one taco, and take the rest home and get extra chips. You would get more business, a better reputation and happier customers if you weren't so stingy. Would NOT recommend until there is better customer service, and the servers are actually paid decently. It's not on taxpayers to pay waiter and waitresses's wages. That is the business's job. Oh, and before anyone tries to assume I'm stingy, I leave a minimum 20% tip plus whatever the military discount is. So it's not a me problem, it's a Mojave problem.

Mojave is one of our favorite spots! Tucked into the corner of a small shopping plaza in White Lake, you'll find delicious Mexican food, friendly service, and a cool, relaxing atmosphere. My husband and I have been dining here since they opened and we keep coming back. The manager, Markos, is always there, and always stops by to say hi! We love him! Bartenders and waitstaff are kind and on point every time-- accurate with orders, make sure we have everything we need, and seem like the nicest coolest people! Anything you need, they're ON IT! One of the best things on the menu is the Southwest Egg Rolls. They are too good to be true! My go-to entrees are the Tacos Mexicanos w/ BBQ pork and the Southwest BBQ Chicken Salad (Order it, you won't be sorry!!) Hubby mixes it up nearly every time, but favors the fajitas, enchiladas, and street tacos. We have never ordered anything we didn't love! I get the "Skinny Chica" Margarita every time we're there, and upgrade it to a Jumbo (because why not?!) There is an extensive list of margaritas and tequilas, plus beer and other cocktails. I highly recommend Mojave Cantina in White Lake! If you find yourself nearby, stop in! On our last visit, we overheard some guys across the bar saying they've tried the Clawson location, but White Lake is "so much better."

Mediocre AF. The food was ok and the waitress definitely didn't want to be at work today. To sum it up, this place is a fart in the wind and there are to many good Mexican restaurants in the area to come back.

Terrible service- use to be a great place to go but it's currently Saturday night and the place is empty... must speak for something... food tastes old like it's been sitting around or refrigerated and reheated. Such a bummer- Anyone got any good Mexican food recommendations in the area??!

Ordered delivery. The food was amazing, the flavors of the ground beef chimichangas were delicious. The shells were still mostly crispy, which is great for being fried and delivery.

I would give this place about 3.5 stars while my husband would rate it around 3. We have our favorite places, but this restaurant was closer and we have driven past it several times and were curious how it tasted. I had read there was a following for their Clawson location which we have never visited either, but is usually a good sign. The place was fairly busy, and seemed to have accrued their own following. The chips and salsa tasted okay. The chips could have used some salt and due to the pandemic, they did not have any shakers on the table. The salsa was spicy in a good way, not overpowering the right amount of cilantro. I has their basic margarita. It was good, very strong (I'm a lightweight) and a great price! We both had a combo plate. The portions are not as big as where we usual frequent. But I did like the flavor. It also tasted great the next day since I am the leftover queen! To me, that is the telling sign, does it hold the flavor and/ or get better the next day. And...it did. I liked their crunchy taco, it tasted homemade instead of food service boxed shell. The chimichanga was pretty small, but tasty. I loved the cheese enchilada. It had amazing cheese pull! I liked their tomato based red sauce, very interesting. The prices were pretty good and the drink prices were amazing! I would come back just for their drinks and I will have to since I am not really good for more than one marg at a time. I am not sure if they currently have happy hour, but I saw they had brunch with mimosas, and mimosas are my absolute favorite. I would also like to try their desserts. As long as they keep the White Lake prices, I will be back.

I ordered a Botana, which they no longer make and was kindly directed to a similar Nacho type product instead. The food came to the table promptly but was cold. I took several bites trying to figure out the issue. Was it cold beans? Beef? Unable to tell and not fond of the taste I sent it back and was given another. This was warmer, but again the meat did not taste correct. The beans had no flavor. The cheese even was plain. Overall the price was cheap. But so was the quality of the food. I gave the waitress a decent tip but will not be going back. Sadly, it was a choice of two or three stars. The more I thought of the fools, the more I decided two was the appropriate rating. I think most people come in for the drinks.

I didn't know anything going into it, so came in with fresh eyes. When I walked into the place, it didn't seem as lively as I thought - although it was lunchtime on a Sunday. There were a few people, and two servers. We were greeted and we sat down. The menus looked like they had been through some hard times, but the options looked plentiful. Taking a look around the restaurant, I noticed some older decor, some fans that had light dust on them, a Cinco De Mayo shirt from 2023 still being sold for $19.99 (even though it's 2026), but the bar looked like it had a lot of options for people. After talking with the server, I heard they are trying to get updated decor since it's under new ownership, but the stuff is stuck in Mexico.... So I don't want to hold too much against them for ambiance. If you've gotten this far: let's get to the food. We didn't get cocktails because my wife is pregnant of course, but the people around us liked the margaritas, so that's a positive. App: We were recommended and got the Loco Fries (with beef added). And WOW!!! It was very delicious. Waffles fries with all the toppings, and the beef was seasoned decently too. The portion of it was HUGE! My wife and I should have ordered this as a meal alone - a lot for an appetiser, but I wasn't mad. Meal: We went with the $10 lunch special (I can't tell you the last time I paid this little for a whole lot of food, but I love a nice deal like this). My wife got Chicken Enchiladas, and I got the Small Chimichangas (Chicken as well). After the appetiser, I was hopeful for a good lunch. As soon as the food came out, I noticed the chicken had a very strong chicken smell to it - not because of the seasonings and such, but it also borderlined on a funky smell. I didn't know if I was being hyper-critical, but I gave it a try. I'm sad to say.... This was the worst Chimichangas I ever had. They were fried to hell and not full of chicken (lots of deep fried tortilla on the line of burnt). Chicken had no flavor, no seasoning, and was very dry. My wife felt the same way about her Enchilada as well. Even more unfortunate, we went home and let's just say I wonder if the chicken was bad because we did "not feel 100% the rest of the day" if you catch my drift. I hate doing this, and sadly, I have to give the place a two out of five. The app gave us A LOT of excitement, but the main dishes were lackluster along with the unflavored rice. It felt as if they were prepping catered meals (large batches with little flavor to it). Now granted, this has been under new ownership for five months. I think they are trying to find their footing, but I think they need a lot of help to get there with the main dishes. It didn't feel homemade, authentic, and the flavor was bland. But if the apps can be as good as I am raving, there are beams of hope that I hope will be taken into account. Long story short: a good place for a drink and an app - but I wouldn't go any further until they can fix their main entree recipes. Hope to try it again if improvements are made!

Yes I'm an expert in Mexican cuisine. The restaurant is well laid out, clean, colorful decor and very welcoming. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the menu offered numerous dishes and drinks. We were the first guest here on lunch hour so it wasn't a long wait for our lunch. We were served with a basket of chips and two types of salsa and our drinks. As usual, I opted for the nacho lunch special and it exceeded my expectations. ALL the other Mexican restaurants we've tried in Michigan puts that nasty shredded lettuce on top of nachos, with that white cheese sauce, who does that? Coming from Southern California I know authentic Mexican food and putting lettuce on top of nacho's is simply odd. Now that we are moving to West Texas my friends are telling me to get ready for TexMex what ever that is.
