My first experience at this bar was lackluster at best. The decor was cool, but the atmosphere wasn't lively at all. There was an exceedingly drunk man at the bar who kept insisting that my wife was pregnant (she was not). "Okay, so the bar attracts insulting drunks. Not the bar's fault," I told myself at the time.
Contrast that with the experience of a Cameroonian friend of mine. He and four other African friends visited the bar three times: on the first visit they were turned away "because of a private event", on the second because "there was a birthday party". Thinking it was just bad timing, they returned a third time to be told, flat-out, that they "don't serve black people". Shocked and dismayed, my friend left. Racial profiling and refusing service on xenophobic grounds has no place in modern society, and I encourage anyone who feels the same to avoid this bar. There are plenty of other, more inclusive places in Bayreuth that deserve your patronage.
