Lots of port-a-john near the beaches and a building closer to parking. No swimming was allowed at the beaches. Plenty of fishing though. Nice place to walk and look for shells. The mansion gardens are small and beautiful. Lots of colorful plants. Graceful collonade. Definitely a nice spot for photos. Lots of pollenators enjoying the gardens too. Pathways through the park are a mix of paved and gravel. Watch out for goose poop when crossing through the fields. Pets are welcome on a leash and be sure to pick up after them. State parks are "carry in, carry out" so there are no trash bins. Be sure to bring your own trash bag to dispose of your trash at home.

There are also some more challenging hikes where there is even some scrambling. Very clean and peaceful. The pine needles smell so beautiful! There's lots of free parking. Different schools and organizations use the complex as well as individual residents and everything in the complex is very well maintained. Several huge and very nice baseball fields, a football and soccer field, hoop and tennis courts, a skate park, a nice running track and even a dog park are available. It is a huge area and many people just use the area to jog or go for a walk. During the summer lots of different leagues use the facilities and there is always something going on. Fortunately the complex has a huge parking lot so even with zillions of people around parking is usually not a problem. In the winter I have seen people cross country skiing and snow shoeing here. A wonderful town park that meets the needs of just about any activity you could want. A great place for some recreation or relaxation.

A few friends highly recommended Mansfield Hollow Lake (boat launch), so we made the drive to Mansfield. We were not disappointed! The parking area, in front of the lake, is large, and easy to find a space to park, even on summer weekends. It's easy to get in and launch a kayak or paddleboard from the shallow shore area. The lake itself is clean and beautiful! I love the fact that swimming in the lake is not allowed (because this lake supplies drinking water) and that motorboats must maintain a speed of 5 mph or less. We haven't yet kayaked in any other lakes, but I'm sure that Mansfield Hollow Lake (boat launch) will remain a favorite of ours. Such a beautiful place!
