He met with the owner and his son- John Aidala and Steven Aidala, the day before, Being the Matriarch of the family, I felt he should be buying from a larger know company. The neighborhood has deteriorated over the last 30 years and to be honest, I was reluctant to even drive there. Talk about a step back in time-the 79 yr old owner was sitting right there in a 1970's desk, personally greeting anyone that came through the door. All the paperwork was really to be reviewed and more than satisfactory. The inspection had been done at the closest dealers. The son advised me he would pick up my Brother at his home, later that day. "They" would complete everything at the DMV and my Brother could drive his new car home that day. John was reminiscing about "our" school days-we all attended Vincentian Institute. If you want to seriously be treated like "you're special"-go here, Amazing family business that was just honored by the City of Albany for 75 years of service

This was written in November when we purchased the car, yet Yelp somehow buried it. It says…read moresomething that I went looking for it months later to make sure our great experience was shared! We just purchased a used car from Quail Auto Sales and could not have had a better buying experience! We had been looking for a car for our son for a long time at numerous dealerships. Although there had been cars at other dealerships that we were interested in enough to purchase, we never found sales staff that made us feel comfortable that the information we were given was reliable. For us the car was important; but equally as important was feeling that we had gotten a fair deal and trusting that what we were buying was without hidden issues. This is why we purchased from John and Steve Aidala. Their dealership is locally owned and has been for many years. The Aidala's have been part of the Albany community and pride themselves in maintaining a superior standard of service and fair business practice. We saw the car online on a rainy Saturday 30 minutes prior to Quail Auto Sales closing for that day. My husband called to make sure that they were still open and that the car was on their lot. Their website said they were not open on Sundays and we knew that this Prius was a great find. John answered the phone and my husband asked if he could make it there 10 minutes before closing, could he still look at the car? John told him that the rain would make it difficult to really look at the car and he would be happy to meet him there the next day to show him the car, even though they aren't open on Sunday. Every single interaction after that was the same good customer service, fair dealings and just an over all good feeling purchasing a car from them. I will return again to buy from Quail Auto and have recommended them to friends and family.

While I was waiting for one seller who didn't turn up, I found a car at Driveline Motors on craigslist. It was $1,000 over my budget and 3 years newer than I planned to buy, a 2008. Tony Tote, jr, the 3rd generation owner answered the phone. He was straight with me about the car. He let me drive and look without overselling me. I had him look up the KBB private party sale price and he sold me the car for a bit under. But I got service I would not get in a private party sale. The car was meticulously clean although they did use air freshener in it which I hate. Once I decided, they did all of the paperwork and put my plates on the car while I went to the bank to get the money. I suppose there are some people who would pay a lot more to go to a big dealership with professional salesmen. We bought a new honda recently from a showroom that delivered free cappuccino and espresso. But I bought a great 7 year old car from folks who are well organized, clean, and clearly know that they need to deliver a good value to survive as an independent. And clearly, they do. I really like a small independent who's made their way for 3 generations by offering good service. There's no fancy coffee here, but solid people and a good deal.

Although the assigned person was very pleasant they gave us totally incorrect information about the vehicle warranty and also regarding some of the vehicle features. We did not realize the info we received was bad until we did our own research when we arrived back home. Prior to discovering the bad info we actually put a large deposit on the vehicle. Upon discovering the bad info we were going to call off the purchase but decided to go back to the dealership a few days later to speak to a Sales Manager. We made contact with a Sales Manager by the name of Walter. In short, he was honorable and outstanding! He listened to our issues and corrected the wrong feature info we were given and, more importantly, he agreed to honor the vehicle warranty that the original sales person had told us - as incentive for us to purchase the vehicle. He also assigned us a new Sales Representative by the name of Kia Smith. Kia was absolutely SUPER fantastic! She went over every feature detail, answered all of our related questions, and actually sat in the vehicle with us to demonstrate the features. Walter's high degree of integrity and Kia's truly outgoing personality and depth of knowledge saved the vehicle sale for the dealership. These two individuals are an absolute credit to their employer and we would not hesitate to purchase another vehicle from them in the future. This was our second vehicle purchase from this dealership and there will be more (but hopefully not for a while :))

Instead of approaching people by introducing himself, he comes to you asking "what is your question" then goes to try and snatch papers from your hand when you try to communicate your frustration of an increased price that you never signed or agreed to. Every dealership I have visited will quote you one price with all fees and taxes included, this dealership does not. They will provide you with a quote without adding or mentioning taxes, and when you arrive they have this 80 year old 'tuff guy' who embarrasses himself trying to intimidate you.
