Prices can run up to the higher scale but with the brands they deal with it's not surprising or out of proportion to other retailers of high-end urban design. It really all depends on what you're buying. We'll likely be purchasing our kitchen counter chairs from Urban Mode in the late spring.

Their selection of furnishings and light fixtures is impressive (and well-curated) for a store of this size, and they have an extensive library of items available by order. It's a great place to get inspired, and the prices are totally fair. Best of all, there are a lot of beautiful options for small spaces. I love the service I receive when I go there - usually when I have a bit of a design problem I need to solve. Today I went to find a pendant light fixture and, as usual, the store owner went above and beyond to figure out exactly what would suit my needs and taste. She explains who designed each item, what country the designer comes from, and why the item may or may not work in my space. I'm not blessed with the interior design gene, so I appreciate all the time she and her other staff take to suggest suitable items. Plus, they never push us to buy anything. Urban Mode is a Toronto original and it deserves 5 stars. If you're walking past on Queen West anyway, this is a shop worth checking out, that's for sure. You might just end up being a loyal customer.

Super happy with their product and installation…read more I was looking for something to accent a wall in our condo and found this place online. They were featured on Cityline and Property Brothers for their reclaimed wood. They are a supplier of reclaimed wood and they can also do custom furniture with the wood. I contacted them through email and they were quick to respond with all my questions. I made an appointment to meet with them. (On their website, they request that you make an appointment). I met with Mike on a Saturday and discussed my options. He was very thorough and explained any concerns I had. You have the option of installing it yourself but I would highly recommend you hire their installers (unless you have the equipment and experience). The day of installation, the installers came and brought all the wood planks and equipment. They cut boards to size and completed it in 3 hours. They also cleaned up the best they could afterwards. Good guys and even adjusted some panels upon my request. Love the feature wall in my dining room and probably increased the value of the place. Check out my pics of the wall and detailing around the outlets. Highly recommend the product and installers.

I ordered a bookshelf based on dimensions posted on their website, but after spending hours assembling the shelf, it turns out that the depth dimension of the bookshelf was at least 2 inches off. This is a real problem for me, because I now have other furniture that can no longer fit in the space that I planned for them in my small condo. For a retail business catering to urban homes, this is clearly unacceptable. In addition, there were issues with the delivery. The bookshelf was delivered in various generic, largely-unmarked brown boxes. They were so generic, that they mistakenly included a small table from another order. They called me back for it but have still failed to follow up on picking up this table. So now, when (who knows when) they finally come for it, I have to again take time off to be available at home, and arrange for reservations of the freight elevator etc. etc. I would like to return the item but the thought of taking apart this large bookshelf and returning it is just a nightmare. I am frustrated and unhappy with my whole experience with them, very disappointed!
