My daughter has so much fun and is literally always laughing and smiling and having so much fun during class (the other kids also). Since then my daughter's focus and confidence has soared! They teach showing respect by bowing to their coaches and leaders and also by saying "yes sir and yes ma'am. The fact that you can tell everyone is having fun; even the coaches and leaders, is amazing! Many of the younger leaders have been there since they were very young so you can definitely feel the "family vibe" of the place. They also do a "show and tell" where the students bring art work and they get star patches for their uniform/shirt. We love this place and now my teenage nieces have also started and are loving it! Thank you ATA Steele Creek!!!

And I have to give a special shout out to Miss Michelle, who makes everyone feel like a special part of the ATA family. The instructors maintain high standards of discipline, commitment and effort (while also making it fun!), and it definitely shows in the amazing progress our son has made since joining. We highly recommend ATA Steele Creek!

A few years ago a close friend said her son was going to test out a taekwondo class and asked if I…read morewould want to take my daughter to try it. She absolutely loved it and we joined (for a year) after that first class. She had previously been in dance for 3 years and it just wasn't her thing. She almost always wants to go to class and has made friends there. Mr G is AMAZING. He is patient as can be with the kids but doesn't let them walk over him and ensures they're respectful (not interrupting, focusing, polite to others, saying sir and mam.) He is soon testing for his 6th degree black belt. The kids love him. The cost isn't bad at all considering your children can go 5-6 days a week most weeks if you want them to. My daughter went 4-5 days a week for a while, we did zoom classes during Covid, and have been back in person for a while now. We moved from Southpark where we were 10 mins from class and now are 25-30 WITHOUT traffic and it's been a year since moving and I still can't imagine switching her. We usually only go 2 days a week now usually because of the drive, but my daughter practices a lot at home too. Initially, equipment needed is minimal; however, if they're going to stick with it, you should invest in the gear. She gets to test for her black belt in September!

They even provide feedback when they get a chance during class changes. It's a community type of atmosphere if you allow yourself to engage and participate. My kids where not very motivated in the beginning but after awhile they really started digging it. Pricing might be an obstacle for lower income families. I made the financial sacrifice because my son needed something like this after being beat up in school. Coming here really boosted his self-esteem and confidence. Again, such awesome instructors and helpers. A great investment on your child/children for sure.

My son has continued and expanded his "whole body learning" both in direct TKD skills and cardiovascular health, but also character development. My daughter participated in private lessons and received timely support by way of the Granieri's encouraging message of self-worth, self-identity, and self-defense. When other activities (baseball!!) take us from our normal participation levels, there is never judgement, only welcoming arms when we settle back into routine. My children are 14 and 11. There are many students in that age cluster. The location is easily accessible off Route 51 near the Arboretum, and the class schedules allows for flexibility to your week. We are completely satisfied and look forward to continued growth with URMA!
