That place is going down the crapper. Been going there for about 3 years but most of the good barbers I remember are all gone. Now it's run by a bunch of irresponsible 20 year olds that make appointments then bump you off and want you to sit around and wait for them. Probably cause they went drinking the night before and couldn't wake up on time to go to work. If you waste my time, I won't be wasting my money with you! Plenty of barbershops in town, so when you have competition, it's customer service that will keep the customers coming back. But they don't get it. read more

We drove from out of town for our appointment and we arrived early. Trashy woman wearing tank top & flip flops actually spit her gum in her hand while removing her cell phone from her BRA grossand told us our barber wasn't in yet . Waited 15 past our appointment time. Received a TEXT from an employee saying they'd have to cancel no reason. Sooooo unprofessional will never come back. read more

I've been coming here for a couple years, and it was always good but now most of the barbers seem to leave to work somewhere else after a few months. There is definitely a lack of management and accountability. Don't book Rio that guy is a bum. He didn't show up for my appointment and never called just left me sitting in the lobby waiting. When I book the appointment 5 days before I should at least get a call or text to cancel. I'll be going somewhere else in the future. read more

Came to Grand Junction, from Los. Angeles, to visit my mom & her husband. With everything being shut down in California, this was my first chance in 6 months to get my beard trimmed & haircut. I stopped at 2 other barbers, got the runaround (probably because they didn't want to deal with my pirates beard), & had all but given up on getting cleaned up.......UNTIL I FOUND MODERN MAN'S BARBERSHOP! I called up & spoke with a guy who said he could get me in right away....& his name was Gustavo, AKA GUTI MANE! HUUUUUUUUUUGE SHOUT OUT AND THANK YOU TO GUTI MANE!!! I went from looking like a homeless pirate, to an absolute stud again...& it was all thanks to him! I'm about 1,000,000% sure that this is the best barbershop in the area, & if you're in need of a fresh cut, Modern Man's is the only place you should go. I can vouch for all the barbers in there, as everyone who came in for a cut left looking fresh af. read more

service was terrible. had an appointment and no one seemed to be sure about who came in first then when I went to go up the barber Stevie seemed unsure during the process how to cut. mind you I'm mixed and my hair is typically curly but if you are unsure or dont have much experience with colored peoples hair you shouldn't be a barber. I had thee best cut of my life by a black barber and only was charged 20$ out the door while this shitty cut costed me 35$. if you are black please just learn to cut your own hair n save yourself the time and money, unfortunate that this is the only "good" barbershop around. Visiting the fam, needed a haircut, and don't know anyone with a good haircut here I could ask for a recommendation, so I came to the internet for a referral. This place seemed to have good word of mouth, so I called to see if they had availability. The guy on the phone was cordial, saying they'd had some cancellations, so booked an appointment at 2PM with David. I arrived ~10 minutes early expecting to wait for my appointment, and wait I did. Never been here before, don't care who cuts my hair as long as they're proficient. They brought in at least two walk-ins while I waited on the couch- I commented at one point asking if I got skipped. Right around 2:45 they asked me if I'd like to see a different barber than the one I'd had an appointment with. I said ok, so they put me with Sam. I've got an easy haircut to do, and one thats extremely popular for the last 5+ years. Literally, "every dude you know is getting this haircut." Google it, I guarantee you know this haircut. I even showed a picture of me with a good haircut so he had a decent brief to work from. First red flag- I was pointed away from the mirrored wall the entire time. I'm not here to socialize with fellow patrons, and the purpose of the mirror wall is so I can see whats going on. Sam did a decent job on the fade, he was thorough on how much he went over it to avoid stragglers. When it got to the top, I'm less impressed. He did no blending or texturizing and cut all the ends off square, and left it really uneven toward the back. To add insult to injury, he cut this arc over my ears thats completely uneven on either side, and WAY too far up on the left side. I f*****g hate when Barbers do this, and it never seems to happen anywhere but barber shops. Second red flag- Sam didn't do the "here's the hand mirror so you can see what the back looks like thing." My own fault for not addressing this in real time I suppose... Maybe this was just an off day at the shop, or maybe I just didn't get the A-Team, either way, I couldn't recommend this place to anyone. TL/DR- Caveat Emptor, not my favorite haircut ever. read more

Came from Hawaii to visit relatives and I needed a haircut bad. Researched around google and yelp and I felt that this establishment was the best: Its all about the fade with no lines! Looked online for an appointment and saw that Gustavo -aka Guti- had one spot available at 4pm. I was a little worried if this establishment was for me, so I went earlier in the morning to check out the haircuts and they seemed pretty solid. Guti knows how to cut hair real well and keeps that fade tight. He is pretty humble for the amount of talent he got. Awesome customer service too, makes you feel special and seems to be genuinely interested in talking and helping you. Clean establishment, friendly staff, great haircuts: I am super happy I found this joint, a haircut this quality in Hawaii is more expensive. read more

I took my son to Adam for a cut. I was pleasantly surprised at the detail and precision of his work. Unfortunately, we were only in town for a family event or else this would be our new regular spot. We are definitely going back when we visit Grand Junciton again! read more

My dad will now be coming from Hotchkiss to get his hair cut here. We loved the shop and it is highly recommended. The team in this barbershop is great!! Visiting Colorado for a wedding and did not plan to get a haircut, until I walked by and saw this place. Everyone inside looked cool and friendly. Met the owner, Adam, who also cuts and is a super nice guy. My stylist was Nicolas, great guy and very attentive and knowledgeable to what I wanted. He took his time and made sure to let me see the progress of haircut. He styled my hair at end and it looked awesome. Way better than what I expected. Super happy and super satisfied!!! Definitely will return again if I'm back in West Colorado. read more

Cut and shave from Gustavo and the young man did amazing. The price for a shave and cut was amazing and the tome that he took to make sure I was happy was really great. The services were worth far more than they charged-I was certainly willing to pay a bigger city rate for the work/service. read more

Was told that there was only 2 people ahead of us so we waited over 2 hours, in the meantime we watched more than 5 people come in and ask if they were taking walk ins and every one of them got seated and we were still left waiting so we just got up and left, definitely won't be coming back. read more

Was in Grand Junction for a few days and I like to try out different places to get my hair cut. This is one of my top places I've been. Hard to find, as I passed it a couple times. Look for the barber pole! Staff was awesome. Haircut was one of the best I've had. They even helped me develop my new beard, and gave tips and shaped it. Came here from Meeker as I'm there for work for several months. Needed a haircut and my normal barber is 1000 miles away in Sacramento. I could tell I'd be happy with this place as soon as I walked in. Attila had an open chair and greeted me right away. Offered me a water and got down to business. I gave him full reign and just asked him to "tighten" things up. He did a fabulous job and trimmed my mustache as well. Came in today in search of a good place to get a cut. Was not expecting to not only a GREAT cut, but to feel like a barber whom you've never met before actually make you feel like your important to them and really take his time to make absolutely sure your cut was on point! I got here and was welcomed unanimously by the barbers there and I was blessed to have Atila as my barber. He took amazing care of me (felt like I was at a spa, but this a barbershop lol) always checking in with me to make sure it was what I wanted. He always made sure I was cleaned and like I said really really took his time to make sure my fade was nothing short of perfection. He took my impressions of previous haircuts and destroyed them and truly showed me what is the right way to get a haircut. The other barbers offered a great vibe as well, always joking and making me laugh and smile the entire time I was there. Thanks again guys for making my hair and day great!
