Very friendly, and was able to fit him in with short notice. He listened and cut hubby's hair just how he wanted it. Pricewise, not cheap, but not expensive compared to other hairdressers. Probably one of the best hauircuts my husband has had (though he would classify the cheapest haircut as the best he has ever had...)

When you move to a new city, it can be terrible to find a new hairdresser! I've recently found…read moremyself in this predicament, and got brave and tried a new place. I was drawn in by the online bookings & reasonable prices, and got super lucky when I found Kylie at Miss Gertrude! First of all, they treat you to coffee or tea upon arrival (yum!) and Kylie really listened to me and gave me the exact cut I was after. Now, i've had very short hair for a very long time, and it is obvious when someone doesn't quite know what they're doing with my hair. In fact, I got my hair cut at a beauty school/training place for a few years, so I know what a bad cut looks like! Kylie gave me a technically excellent haircut, and what's more, she books in complimentary tidy-up appointments after three weeks. Highly recommended.

She was not only very sweet and friendly, she TOTALLY got got exactly what I was looking from the look at one photo I had saved on my phone. She didn't ask a whole lot of questions other than ensuring that I understood and was comfortable with just how short my hair was going to be. She did it exactly as I asked! Sometimes I've had stylists work on my hair and then at the end ask which direction I part my hair even though I walked into the salon with the part on the right! I know it's minor but how could you miss that if your business is hair? Jennifer didn't ask, not only that, she cut it dry which is great when you have wavy to curly hair so you can tell just how short it will look when the hair is dry. I will totally back next time!

Thankfully Hoopla take client relations to whole new level! My appointment started out with Brianna discussing what I did and didn't like about my hair and issues I'd previously had with my hair. We flicked through Pinterest to confirm that why I wanted was what I was actually describing. Always an added bonus! After the initial consult the staff will slip you a sneaky quote for the services. There's no hidden charges and it's all laid out in the table for you. A pleasant surprise rather than the usual heart when it comes time to pay. The whole time your in the chair there's a constant supply of quality coffee. There's no Nescafé blend 23 happening here! The team here are extremely supportive of one another. With two apprentices on site the senior stylists are constantly pulling the younger tram members around to lend a hand and learn new techniques and skills. A great change from the usual sweeping of hair and making cups of tea. I was exceptionally happy with the great service I received! Can't wait to come back for me!

hmmmm. i didn't have a great experience here. it is SO hard to find a good hairdresser and this…read morejust makes me more panicked about finding someone decent. i went here because they were close to my house and they use goldwell dye. i wanted blonde foils into ombre pink. so blonde, pale pink to hot pink. i had a consult a couple of weeks before the actual appointment and it went really well, i felt like the hairdresser understood what i wanted. so i turn up for the appointment, and the hairdresser is there but i'm directed to a different hairdresser. this hairdresser goes through what i want again, and i'm okay with that. then someone else starts my blonde foils. then someone else starts the colour underneath. then another person does the pink, with instruction from the second hairdresser. i start to get really nervous. plus, i'm watching the original hairdresser i did the consultation with do the hair of walk ins. hello? if i book an appointment with YOU, i'd like you to do my hair. is that so much to ask?! goldwell dye... well, for me, it's hard to go wrong. i'm generally pleased with the colour. but that's the dye, not the hairdressing job. ombre is usually done by teasing the hair and then painting the colour on. they didn't do this, and the girl looked quite nervous throughout painting pink onto my hair. so the colour was not really close to ombre, it was more like a straight line. FAIL. they also used blonding cream on my ends. not sure if my ends are just totally damaged or what, but a lot of my hair started to break off. this has NEVER happened to me before. sigh... it also cost $280. and i had no balls to complain! so i'm doing it on the internet!
