Lauren was hands down the best resource we could have asked for in looking for our first condo. Not only did she guide us through the whole process smoothly, but every other resource she recommended, from inspectors to lenders to attorneys, was incredible. As was everyone else we dealt with at the Moda Group! I've already recommended Lauren to every one I know who might be looking to buy in Chicago, and will continue to do so. She's smart, thoughtful, well-connected, quick to respond (sometimes even before you know you needed her!) and super easy to get along with. I wish I still had an excuse to talk to her every day! Thank you, Lauren, for making our homebuying process such a joy! read more

Working with Abby Spurlin was fantastic! She listened to our preferences and was able to curate the listing based on that. Abby thoughtfully organized viewings and answered all our questions about the places we were seeing. Because of her hard work, we are very happy in our new place. She is definitely a pro and we would highly recommend woking with her to anyone! read more

Move to Chicago I have spent over 30 years in the hospitality business and have moved numerous times during my career. Lauren Herskovic is by far the best realtor you could ever hope for. My wife and I instantly formed a bond with Lauren the first time we met. Lauren is smart, genuine, fun and hard working. She worked tirelessly with us to find the perfect home. She knew all the right questions to ask. There were many things about buying a house or condo in Chicago that I was not aware of. Some of the material used in the construction of a homes can be problematic in the future. HOA's can be complicated in Chicago. Lauren knew her stuff on these items and many other things. Buying a house comes with a lot of anxiety, Lauren took a lot of this away as I felt confident she was always looking out for our best interest. She spent 3 hours at my new home while it was being inspected. I never had a realtor come to an inspection and take genuine interest in the few deficiencies we found. If we had questions about the house she would contact the other agent immediately and get an answer. Her tremendous follow up and always staying in touch was a real comfort. Her responsiveness was outstanding at all times and days of the week. I really can't thank her and her team at Modgroup with Compass enough for making our home buying experience second to none. read more

James was extremely helpful and him and his entire team were very responsive. I had a three week close deadline and it was surprisingly incredibly easy and pain free. James had tons of knowledge and didn't mind teaching me everything I wanted to know. I would recommend them to anyone else! read more

Emily encompasses all of the traits you want in a realtor: responsive, flexible, friendly, down-to-earth, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Throughout our eight-month search, we got to spend a lot of time with Emily, trying to find the perfect SFH for our family. Our search criteria changed a few times over the course of our search, but she kept up with us. Our two kids (4 and under), accompanied us to almost every tour and showing -- Emily's patience and kindness never faltered. Emily had great insights and provided us with guidance and helpful advice. She steered us away from the bad and asked smart questions of the sellers. She was thorough in pointing out potential issues (or lack thereof) in each place we visited. We truly felt she was looking out for us. We really appreciated how communicative she was, and how she ensured a smooth process leading up to and through the closing, making sure we had all of our ducks in a row. She happily answered all of our myriad questions. We love our new home, and we couldn't have found it without Emily. We recommend her enthusiastically. read more

Lauren is a lovely human and the consummate professional. She helped us buy our (dare I say) dream condo with relatively few hiccups. As first-time buyers, we were a bit anxious to buy a property during the pandemic, but Lauren was reassuring and responsive throughout the whole house-buying process. Her strengths are her people skills, communication, efficiency, and get-it-done-ness. She is honest when she doesn't know the answer to something and can generally point you in the right direction to find the answer. She also has great recommendations of folks to work with for home projects (e.g. electricians, handymen, etc.) and continues to be helpful/friendly even after we closed on our condo. The only thing I wish we had done differently during our process is try to negotiate a little harder on closing costs with the sellers, but overall we're very pleased with Lauren's role in our home-buying process. Thanks, Lauren! read more

Lauren at Moda Group patiently and attentively guided us through the complexities of renting and then selling our condo. Each experience was swift and smooth. Lauren is an outstanding communicator. We can't recommend her highly enough. read more

We've known James for a few years now and when it came time to buy a home, we knew we'd be working with him. As first time home buyers, he did a great job in explaining the process to us and guiding us patiently through stressful times. Abby was wonderful to work with! As a first time buyer, she walked me through every step and provided a lot of information to make sure I was comfortable from start to finish. And she answered every question I had even if it was a stupid question. She was responsive and stayed on top of the process so I never felt out of the loop or unsure of anything. I would recommend Abby to anyone I know looking for a realtor and wouldn't hesitate to use her in the future. read more

What an absolute pleasure to work with! As a first time home buyer it was very comforting to have someone with such a depth of knowledge guiding us through the process. In such stressful times it's also great to have someone that treats you like a person instead of a transition. The team they have assembled are rockstars from top to bottom! Communication was a breeze with Lauren at the helm and they had a trusted professional for every need that arose. read more

Can't recommend Patrick more highly. He was patient during the home search and made the process a breeze from offer to close. If you're buying a home in the Chicago-area, you won't regret working with him. read more

We had an amazing experience working with the Moda Group. We used their Compass Concierge service to get our place ready to sell. They did so much work in a short time and were very easy to work with. I highly recommend using this service if you need work done. James did an awesome job selling our place and even sold it BEFORE it went on the market. We got almost our entire asking price and the whole process could not have gone better. We highly recommend working with James and his entire team. read more

I can't sing Lauren Herskovic's praises high enough. This incredible woman bent over backwards for me and my husband while we searched, at length for our new multi-unit property. Her expertise in guiding us through the process made it as painless as possible, and if there was ever a question she couldn't answer, she knew who could and always got back to us promptly. She's extremely well organized and professional, always staying on top of things, even though working with us was often like hearding cats. Her patience should also be recognized as we were a huge pain in the rear. Over the months we worked with her she never seemed to tire of showing us properties and tracking down new ones for us to look at. We viewed over 20, no exaggeration. And when it came time to close she guided us through it all the way. Even after the purchase she's been helping us to find general contractors and make other recommendations to help as well. I don't know what we would have done without her. I'll definitely use Lauren again in the future when it comes time to purchase our next property and I recommend her any time I hear of anyone in the market. read more

Emily helped us find a beautiful new home that is everything we were looking for. She worked tirelessly (including weekends and holidays and until late at night) and was always very friendly, helpful, forthcoming and professional. She made the potentially very stressful experience of looking for a place to buy almost fun and is still being helpful even after closing. We would definitely recommend her and work with her again! read more

Emily was AMAZING to work with! First, she was so patient with us, and really listened to what we were looking for. It felt like she knew what we didn't want before we knew. She took us to a few of those properties so we felt comfortable saying we weren't interested in that layout, which made our search so much easier. I honestly believe we won our place (in a multiple bid situation) because she had us write a letter to the other owners. Her small touches, and counter offer techniques closed our deal, and saved us thousands. She's honest and wouldn't let a client purchase a home she didn't feel comfortable them being in. Never did I feel she was rushing us or a decision. She has a trusted team she works with to ensure the transaction goes smoothly! I constantly asked her "what else do I need to be doing" and her answer was always "Nothing! Everything is going great" She loves what she does and it's so evident in her work! read more

James and his team were great to work with. James has a really good understanding of the Chicago real estate market and provide good advice in regards to marketing, staging, pricing, etc. His team is responsive and is always willing to help. In addition, James also has a network of people that he works with (e.g. contractors, staging companies, etc) which prove to be very helpful throughout the process. I would highly recommend James and his team! read more

If you are looking for a realtor, All I can say is PATRICK DODD from Moda Group!!!!!!!! I cannot express how amazing the entire process was working with Patrick. Contact information is listed below. Phone: 810-919-7824 Email: patrick@modagrp.com Our Experience and the Service you can expect. Warning this is long but really shows express the service we received! We met Patrick one day at the beginning of our search going to a few open houses, in which he was the listing agent of one. He was warm and inviting, but not pushy. That is the thing that drives everyone nuts. We had toured a few open house's prior and the pushiness made us steer clear of some of the agents. We had a few questions about renovating the unit he was showing and Chicago property, he had answers for everything we needed. He simply asked if you want an agent, I would love to help you guys find the perfect place. He then invited us to a client appreciation event at the Hoxton hotel to get to know him and Moda better. We decided he is going to be our realtor that night. He and his wife welcomed us did not talk business and really focused on relationship building rather than selling. After a few cocktails we got to business talk. A day later he sent us a survey to find out our needs and wants and made an appointment to come in and really tailor our search for us. The Moda office Is in the Lincoln commons area and is a beautiful loft style office. Everything you could want to drink or snack on was available. After narrowing down our search a bit we toured some properties, found a few wee liked. He gave amazing advice on the way Chicago homes are built and what maintenance is needed. After back in forth with one property we had made an offer and began the negotiations for it. Patrick was very good at making appropriate suggestions that really aided in our counters. We finally accepted an offer and we had plan to drop off the earnest money that night. We saw a unit that we had loved but was out of our price range a few months ago come back on the market at a lowered rate. We called Patrick and said we must see this property tonight before someone takes it. Patrick got to work immediately and had moved things around in his schedule to ensure we got in before anyone else. The seller did not want to start tours till the open house the next day, but Patrick's negotiation skills got us in. We saw the property put in above asking offer to get the deal done. The seller accepted. During inspection a few things came to light and Patrick was eager to help us negotiate credits with the seller. He also answered every question I had regarding repairs who to contact. The man knows everyone that can help lawyers, contractors, electricians, HVAC, fireplace ext. He prepped us for the closing process since the COVID 19 the title company wasn't allowing brokers to come up. We signed and closed. He followed up with us to see how it went, he followed up with us when we started moving, and we defiantly plan to be friends and long-term clients later. One of the best realtors I know, and I know a few since I'm in property management myself. I will recommend him a million times over or anyone at Moda. read more

We worked with James and his team (Patrick and Lauren) over the last year. We started our process early and the team helped us very quickly hop on the market soon than we'd planned. We had unforeseen circumstances in our sale, with an offer on a new property on the line, and James and his team helped us work through it all, and we were able to move into our new home AND sell our old with perfect timing. They were patient and hosted showings for us every weekend for months, always having someone available and super flexible. Their response times are so fast, and they kept my husband and I on track the whole way. Highly recommend Moda/James team! read more

Lauren was instrumental in our home buying process and we can't thank her enough! As first time home buyers, everything was new to us and Lauren broke it all down so we could make the best informed decisions. She was always happy to answer any of our questions (no matter how small) and went out of her way to get us answers from others when needed. One of the things we appreciated most is her communication as she was so quick to respond to texts, calls, emails, etc. This helped put us at ease during our long and painful 4 week attorney review period as questions/issues came up almost daily. Not only is Lauren a great agent, she's a pleasure to be around and makes the home buying (or renting) process fun! We highly recommend working with Lauren for your home buying/renting needs! read more

I really don't know what to say first other than THE EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING. I didn't know finding a home could be this fun and exciting. Lauren was so incredible at communication. I could tell she was working hard for me every day and giving her other clients the same attention. As she got to know my wants and needs more in the process, she tailored the perfect search for me. Lauren's energy is electric and it kept me excited and hopeful I'd find the right place. When it came to looking at places in person, Lauren was so organized! She even surprised me with a treat to get me through our long day. I felt confident that I knew all of the details I wanted to and Lauren was always triple checking everything. When I found my dream place and knew I had to have it she went to bat for me. Her persistence and continued communication with me is what got me in there. If you want someone who is going to work FOR YOU, come to @properties and Lauren. I'm never finding another place without her! read more

We worked with Emily for help in finding & purchasing our amazing new home this year. She has been absolutely wonderful to work with! Home buying can be a stressful experience, and I think Emily helped make our hunt pleasant, and even enjoyable! This being our 2nd home purchase, we were very particular about what we were looking for, and she was so attentive and mindful of our checklist; she quickly understood what we were looking for. She even pointed out important things we weren't always thinking about while looking at houses, such as whether the home would be ideal for starting a family. She is both professional and down to earth; we very much appreciated her honesty, flexibility, and insight throughout the entire process. We highly recommend her to anyone in need of an agent for their home search. We are also using her as our selling agent to assist us with listing our previous home for sale and she has been great so far there as well. Thanks for everything, Emily! read more

THIS TEAM IS AMAZING! From the initial intro emails with Emily, Lauren, and team, to going out to actually tour homes with James, we couldn't have asked for a better group of people to share our first home buying journey with. They offered complete support, answered texts and calls at all hours of the day (about anything!) and gave honest feedback that helped keep us grounded and informed. The entire team makes you feel like you're with longtime friends throughout the entire process. I cannot recommend MODA enough! read more

I cannot say enough great things about James and his team. James was able to get my offer accepted on a really competitive property with multiple offers. He had some unique strategies that I would never have known about. As a first time home buyer, I needed a lot of hand holding and guiding through the process which is exactly what James did. He was not only responsive and on top of all the details, he really negotiated and worked hard on my behalf. He's definitely become a good friend of mine through this process! I highly recommend James and his entire team! read more

We had bought our Chicago condo through Bob Safranski and received such excellent service we knew we wanted to return to Moda Group when we sold the condo six years later. We worked primarily with James D'Astice on the sale, though the whole Moda Group team works together seamlessly to respond quickly to panicked seller emails about everything from just the right patio staging to detailed negotiations following the home inspection. We have recommended Moda Group to friends in the past and will keep doing so - the buying and selling experience couldn't be better! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! When my wife and I decided to sell our River West loft, I interviewed several realtors who had had success selling in the area. While they were all impressive, I was particularly taken with James' genuine passion for the project and the property. We were not disappointed. James and his team approached the project with enthusiasm, creativity, and flexibility. For example, we weren't convinced that staging was necessary, but we arrived at a modified staging approach that we believe was a strong selling factor. They stayed in touch throughout the selling process, adjusting and refining our message as necessary. In the end, we were more than satisfied with the result and don't believe that anyone could have delivered a better or faster result. read more

It's not everyday that my husband and I feel as passionately about a review or referral, but James and his team come highly recommended by both of us! We found ourselves needing to sell our condo and move on to what was next for us sooner than later, and James helped us to navigate the selling experience with ease. Within 3 days of being on the market, we sold for over asking price! He also helped us to secure what is proving the be the perfect new home for us and we couldn't be happier. His professionalism, market knowledge, and respect for his clients and their goals provides a sense of trust and security through working with James. Big decisions go in to both buying and selling and James provides a genuine comfort through his advising and expertise. We had the most ideal experience with both our buy and sale with James and his entire team! read more

I'm a first-time buyer, and couldn't have asked for more from my experience with Emily. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very willing to answer my constant questions. Emily took the time to make sure that I completely understood list price vs. actual value, and helped to supply me with all the information I needed to be comfortable entering into negotiations with sellers. We toured a nice variety of places, and were even able to get into one place before it was listed. From start to finish (and even afterwards), Emily has been absolutely wonderful to work with! read more
