MODs is our favorite quick serve pizza place. The amount of ingredients, flavor and atmosphere make it our favorite from other chains. It is great that they also have gluten free dough and dairy free cheese for those who have allergies. This location in buffalo grove is great as there is plenty of parking and good amount of seating, great for large groups. They also have a fairly large outdoor seating area with umbrellas which is nice for warm weather. Restrooms here are well kept as well. Unrelated, as a plus there's a Woodmans across the street if you need to get shopping done as well as for cheap gas. As with all quick serve pizza places, it can be a bit of a wait due to the customization. Service is also dependent on who you get but overall service here is quite good. Highly recommend if you're looking for quick pizza allowing you customization and think brick oven crust. read more

We have started going to Mods a couple of times a month. Generally, we love the pizza and the cheesy bread. Lately, the cheesy bread has been burnt or lacking cheese. We did send a message to Mods and they quickly gave us a free cheesy bread the first time. However, the second one was also dry and not very cheesy. Maybe, that's the normal way and the first few times were anomalies. We do like the pizza though and will continue to go, but maybe not as often. read more

Great value in salad. They fill it up and dressings are tasty. I always have a great salad when there and lots of interesting toppings make it a treat. Nice that it's under $11 and it's good. First experience at MOD Pizza and it exceeded my expectations. I had the Caspian, 6" pizza with anchovies. The potion size was perfect, thin crust served just the way I like it and packed with favor. This was my third visit to this place in last 4 months. Today I decided to "take for here". I planned to try a pizza with cauliflower crust, but was stopped in tracks because they only offer cauliflower for the larger size. Change of plans - Greek salad. The store offers two options for salads - regular bowl and larger size. I choose the latter. Fresh ingredients, I asked for banana peppers to be added, and my plea was approved. I was in the store around 11:15 am, so it wasn't crowded, but guys looked tired already. Last time the crew was more energized. Depends on personality and, perhaps, a weather. It was 73F and breezy, so,maybe, nobody wants to be at work, when it's so nice outside. At first, I sat on the bar stool. Unfortunately, A/C unit was just overhead plus heavy rock to scare me away. I survived 10% of salad in that cacophony and escaped outside. The music was barely heard, A/C was far away, salad was good. I like this pizza and always appreciated their positioning: " The real secret sauce ... would be the people who serve our communities -- the MOD Squad" but ... the last few times I was there, including today's visit, I didn't see the "MOD Squad". Initially I was excited to come here as my girlfriend loves MOD. I personally prefer Blaze pizza and this visit just confirmed why I like Blaze TEN TIMES more. Not only are they lazy and just threw the toppings literally in a pile in the middle of the pizza. They told me I couldn't add a topping sauce to my BUILD YOUR OWN before it goes in the oven. The drink choices are good, and offer some yummiest organic lemonade and tea options. I like mixing up my own concoctions... and you get more if you chill on the patio. This is the Jimmy Johns of pizza. I went here for the first time today and my son described it as jimmy johns. Wow - what a spot on description. The pizza was ok. And - if you are on a lunch break you could do a lot worse. The food was fast - freaky fast ? - and I liked what I got. The guy helping us was pretty cool too. I should note that my 4 star review is because it is 4 star for what it is - a pseudo fast food place. In the grand scheme of pizza it is a 3 star in taste. They sell beer but it would be like going to subway and drinking beer - still I liked that they offered it. Between the cool wall art and music it was obvious they were trying to make it a cool hangout place and I liked that. There is a sign in the wall that says "this is not a pizza place". If someone can figure this out, let me know. All they sell is pizza. Just saying .... Anyway - in summary - I am glad I went here and the food was ok. A good super fast lunch spot maybe a half step above fast food that I will probably frequent again at some point. read more

We work in the area and we're great fully given some free pizza coupons! The coupons were incredible as it barely had any limitations on amount of toppings or types of pizza! The staff was sweet and prompt. It must've been a slower day because they were all having a good time and talking amongst each other. It really made the environment friendly and inviting. The pizzas were great, a wonderful char from the oven and super thin crispy crust. Being so close to the location we often avoid the places near work as we get free food anyway. Love the pizzas and salads but not the service and ambiance. The pizzas are great, fresh made in front of you., think Chipotle for pizza. The salads are interesting and well planned. However, the process of moving people through the line is horrible. The staff is not trained well and it shows in their attitude. They try and I give them credit, I blame the management for not giving them proper training. My other complaint is the atmosphere and decor. The stainless steel and concrete is very industrial. This is a review of a chain style pizza restaurant. While the food served is the same, you will find wildly different experiences depending on staff and management. My wife and I decided to try out the newest location here in Buffalo Grove. We were greeted immediately upon entering and everyone had smiles. I ordered a Meat-Lovers pizza and added bacon and mushrooms. My wife ordered a Ceaser Salad bowl. We also ordered a cinnamon crisp dessert with chocolate dipping sauce. Our orders arrived quickly and with all ingredients correct. The pizza was perfectly cooked and was just as expected. What brought the rating down was my wife's salad. Almost every bit if lettuce was turning brown and the lettuce wasn't properly chopped. When you go to get a forkful of salad, you don't want to get a brown leaf that is over 5" across. This is not acceptable and should have been caught and corrected long before hitting her bowl. Since this store is nearby, we will probably try this place a few more times and see if the service improves, or if it will fall into the "don't bother" category. We shall see... read more

If you are a vegetarian, think 10 times before you go to eat here (Vernon Hills, IL)! They keep their bins for veggies and meats right next to each other and in their swift service(!!) they keep dropping pieces of meat into cheese and veggies. Especially by evening they are all half-mixed up. Secondly, if you ask them to change their gloves (as it has so much meat stuck on them), they will roll their eyes and make you feel like a jerk for making their lives difficult by being a vegetarian. Couple of times, I found pieces of meat on my pizza - and I had to throw the whole thing away as I just cant consume any meat. About the pizza, it would probably taste good if they dont burn the crust. If you complain about the burnt crust - you get burnt by their looks. That's it, nothing else changes. To top it all, the amount of attitude, disrespect and racism I get here - best topping at Mod-pizza! read more

This is the newest location around here for MOD. It is similar to the other locations in atmosphere and food quality. You are able to customize everything and they are very fast. However, I can't give 5 stars because with that quickness they sometimes miss customizations or even additional items. Last time I went there with my husband, we had ordered the cinnamon sticks as an addition but they had forgotten about it. They are very friendly and when brought to their attention they immediately fixed the error... so I am giving them 4 stars. I think if you're looking for something quick and highly customizable for pizza, I'd come here. It's fairly cheap and even has salad options for those who may not want a pizza on their lunch break. read more

Let me start this with by saying my wife and I LOVE Mod. When this one opened so close to our house we were so excited. After 2 visits we will be driving back to the one in Deerfield. The pizzas are made by unenthusiastic teenagers who don't use the portion scooper to get the right amount of cheese on the pizza and when you ask for extra it feels like you're pulling teeth. All the toppings are pretty much dropped right in the middle and to add insult to injury the pizza's were undercooked both times. Also the chicken is rubbery. Was this review harsh? So here's the thing... I've been to many different MOD Pizza locations across the country, as well as to many different made on demand pizza chains. One thing I don't particularly care for is when these places try to skimp on the toppings I request. My experience here yesterday was the BEST experience I've ever had at any made on demand pizza restaurant! When I said I wanted a lot of this and that, the person dressing the pizza didn't disappoint by forcing me to repetitively request more of those particular toppings. And then after my pie was baked and I requested a lot of the fig balsamic and Mike's hot honey sauces, they poured them on. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for this place. Way to go guys! read more

My husband and I visited this location yesterday around 6:00. There were two parties ahead of us, each with two adults and two kids and no one behind us. We waited patiently while both parties were waited on. When it came our turn, we were completely ignored. This went on for about twenty minutes total. The employees worked directly in front of us. One was filling call-in orders. Another was flattening dough. A third had helped the two parties and had walked back and forth between the register and the ordering location, where we stood waiting, several times. He appeared in front of us and we thought, "okay, finally." But instead of taking our order, he picked up what appeared to be small salad containers. We thought that one of the other employees would take our order. Nothing. No eye contact. We weren't even acknowledged. There was no "we'll be right with you" or "we'll be with you in a minute."
