Mochido is a well-known mochi donut shop in Vancouver. I have found their donuts at several events and always loved them. They opened a second location in Coquitlam, and I finally had a chance to visit it. I always like that they offer different flavors by collaborating with other items, creating unique flavors and more. This time, I tried the Crookie, Strawberry Tanghulu, Viral Treats Collection, and Mangonara Taro. The Mangonara was a bit tangy. The Strawberry Tanghulu was also tangy with a subtle strawberry flavor. The Taro flavor was also subtle, and I enjoyed the cookie crumble of the Crookie. The donuts' texture was very chewy and soft. I recommend eating them the same day you get them, as that is the best day to enjoy them. They still have a chewy and soft texture the next day, but I recommend warming them up for 10 -15 seconds in the microwave. I really enjoyed Mochido donuts. I appreciate that they offer different flavors very often, and I can't wait to try new flavors on my next visit.

I took advantage of the 15% Yelp Check-in offer @ Mochido in honour of Asian Heritage Month when I was in the area. My brother and I each picked a donut (both were coincidentally from their collaboration with Jarritos hence the inspired flavours). The Tres Leches one was sweet and piled with some cinnamony caramel cream, and it was great to have the savoury Elote one to balance it out with the bits of corn and Elote seasoning. Out of the two, I thought the Elote won out as a unique savoury donut with lightly spiced corn! Overall my favourite part of these donuts are the chewy mochi texture and how they always offer fun rotational flavours, definitely a fun treat to pick up and is on the lighter end donut-wise if you're full after a meal.

I heard so much about this place so I visited here in late January. Donuts looked really good like ones I tried in Mister Donut in Asia. Mochido had flavours from ube, churro, lava cheesecake, Salted brown sugar and on. Prices were so expensive to begin with. $4 for just a donut tasting like rice cake. It was not quite the same as ones in Asia. My black sesame donut was too sweet. Besides it had nothing like a donut texture. I'd prefer buying some mochi from Asian groceries rather than spending $4 of flavoured mochi. I found reviews to be too overrated.

Latest flavours: churro, strawberry, matcha, glazed and the purple one I'm not sure

So good! Quick and efficient service. They are the perfect chewy texture and not too sweet. They are my fave kind of donuts. The only thing I dislike about them is they leave the donut aftertaste feeling in my mouth more so than regular donuts if you know what I mean?

Flavours are always really good and they taste best when they're warm and fresh. Highly recommend.

The donut itself is soft and fluffy, the filling is nice and creamy, and the crackly caramelized sugar on top gives you that classic crème brûlée experience. It's good, but for me, it wasn't quite the type of donut that all the hype made it out to be. The other flavours were enjoyable; I do wish they were a little more innovative. It feels like there's room to be a bit more creative with the menu. One other thing was how quickly they "sell out." Maybe they genuinely do, but it almost feels like they simply make a very limited quantity each day to create that sense of demand. The location also doesn't do them any favours. Parking is difficult, it's right along a busy road, and it's not exactly the kind of place you casually stop at. Overall, the donuts are good quality, especially the crème brûlée, but I personally don't think they're worth going out of your way for.

The hashbrown bites were nice and crispy. Their doughnuts all looked enticing, but I picked the wrong one. I chose creme brulee, which had a hard icing on top. It was crunchy, which did not go well with the pillowy soft doughnut. I peeled the entire top off, but enjoyed the vanilla filling. Although I didn't like this doughnut, I could tell it was freshly baked and I would return to try their other flavours. There was only 1 woman working in the cafe and she was so friendly. The interior is aesthetically pleasing and seating is comfortable. I went early on a weekday morning so I was able to find street parking, however finding parking could be challenging, especially on the weekend.

The donuts were soft and fresh, with plenty of flavours to choose from. Prices are quite reasonable, making it easy to pick up a few extras! The staff were friendly, patient, and helpful while I decided what to get. I appreciated that they also offer savoury options like breakfast croissants, sandwiches and coffee, if you're looking for something beyond sweets. The shop is easy to get to, with plenty of parking in the plaza. Seating is limited, but it didn't feel like an issue since most customers seem to be grabbing their orders to go. A great neighbourhood spot for fresh donuts! I'll definitely be back to try more flavours.

We were pleasantly surprised that they offer guests access to their full drink menu including their specials. Ube matcha was good, but had a hint of cinnamon which we could have gone without. The matcha mango was also good. The blackberry lavender matcha was too floral for our liking. However, eventually you get used to it and then it becomes more enjoyable. The pandesals were super fresh and we loved both the ube and strawberry butters that came with it. I wish that they came a bit warmer, so that the butters could have melted a touch. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 sandwiches. I especially loved the arugula on the mozerella sandwich. The blackberry brie sandwich could have used a touch more brie, but was still delicious. The cheesecakes were good, but a bit too sweet. The strawberry was my favorite. I enjoyed tasting multiple flavors. Their red velvet cupcake was extremely moist. The pistachio malasada was cute and flavorful. The filling to pastry ratio was good. I think that the experience could have been better balanced if there were a few more savory items. One thing that we noticed was that all of the pastries including the malasada were cold. I can understand that there are some food safe requirements that need to be met in how desserts are stored. However, letting them sit out for even 20-30 minutes before consumption would have been better.
