Club sandwich and soup
Maysam N.

Ok, I paid 10.5 euro, for a club sandwich + a small cup of soup of unknown origin. The sandwich was nothing but bread and mayonnaise! With the same money you can just go the Centra next door, buy 2 high quality club sandwiches and you still will have 3 euros in your pocket. It was my second visit to Mocha beans, and I just wanted to give them a second chance, but this time was beyond disappointing! The server was polite and the restaurant was very clean. But I was traumatized by the quality of the food.

If you are looking for an amazing coffee shop in Galway City, Ireland. I highly recommend The Mocha Beans located on Cross Street. Every time I visit I am made made feel very welcome. The Coffee shop has Fast WiFi and great seating. The selection on the menu is great for different times of the day. You definitely won't be disappointed by the menu and the ambiance of Mocha Beans. It should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland, lived in the United States for over thirty years and served in the United States Marines all over the world. I definitely know a great Coffee Shop from all my travels and life experiences. I definitely will return to this totally Awesome Coffee Shop in the near future. This establishment rates five stars and more! A must visit when in Galway City Ireland.

The Mocha Breakfast: rasher, eggs, tomato, sausages, beans, potatoes, mushroom, black pudding, toast, and (choice of coffee or) tea

We stopped at Mocha Beans for breakfast before we explored all of the shops in Galway. It shares its space with a pub, and is otherwise a cute spot to pick up a tea or coffee, breakfast on the go, and/or a newspaper. We dined in for breakfast. I had the Mocha Breakfast with tea: a traditional Irish breakfast. The eggs, rasher, and other sides were all delicious: an above-average breakfast! Order and pay at the counter and the food is brought out to the table. Workers were friendly enough and busily making orders. Their menu is well-marked to indicate food ingredients if you have dietary restrictions! They also post their food suppliers. My breakfast at Mocha Beans left me feeling satiated! Recommended!

Excellent toasted sandwich.

Excellent pastries, and the coffee was PERFECT! Group of 5 walked in and everyone in our party enjoyed something different and each raved about their pastry and breakfast sandwich. Coffee was the big winner. Great spot with a cool vibe. Staff was excellent!

We stumbled upon this local place while in Ireland and it was FANTASTIC! Definitely worth a stop! We tried several pastries, the Light Bite, the mocha and it was all amazing. The staff was super friendly. Cute atmosphere too! Be sure to check it out when you visit Galway!

Friendly folk, strong beans, and fresh-made food.

The service was flawless from start to finish, with staff who were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The quaint, cozy interior had such a charming and homelike feel that it felt less like dining in a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's beautifully curated home. A memorable experience all around and a place we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Galway.

The space itself is small and cozy, with just a handful of tables and a private room, which gives it that intimate, tucked‑away feel. I'd 100% go back. They offer two specialty cocktails and a wine list, and while the cocktail selection is limited, the wines are unique and fantastic -- definitely worth exploring. The food was outstanding across the board. The monkfish scampi isn't what you might picture, but it's fantastic -- super crispy and full of flavor. And you have to get the bread: tomato focaccia or brown bread, then topped with the fennel, thyme, and maple butter were all unforgettable. The bavette steak was delicious, and the mashed potatoes were truly out of this world. The sea trout was incredibly fresh; just a heads‑up that the gremolata is spread over the whole dish, so it ends up almost poached in olive oil -- worth noting for anyone sensitive to that, but the flavor itself was excellent. Definitely end the night with the affogato and the shortbread cookies (chef's kiss). Who doesn't like to dunk their dessert? Highly recommend, would absolutely come back.

I've come here a good number of times when I used to live in Galway and go there whenever I visit…read moresince the seaside location is great and there's a fantastic view from the window. Also it's easy access with free parking and only 10 mins from the town centre located next to the Aquarium in Salthill, overlooking the prom. For food, they tick all the boxes for cafe food; sandwiches, wraps, salads, soup, breakfast (fry ups, muesli, oatmeal, scramble eggs etc. ), all under €10. There's also a few desserts which change everyday, usually cakes, brownies, cupcakes, cookies etc. They also have kids menu with each thing costing only 2.50, but it's quite limited. The service is average, nothing particularly fantastic or anything. The inside of the cafe is pretty spacious with lots of tables, and it's really bright near the windows, but kind of dark on the back half of the cafe. On a good day, the outdoor seating is pretty nice too. Coffee is great!! Arabica is one of the two best places in Galway for coffee, the other being Mocha Beans in my opinion. You can have it soya for 50 cent extra, or add syrup for and extra 20 cent. This Arabica was also probably about the only cafe open on Boxing Day in the whole city!!
