I just kinda maybe wish they'd ask if they should first. the grilled cheese (paninied) is not what I intended but it is likely a better option than CFS plus eggs and grits... sandwich comes with sliced tomato and minced onion cooked in - the 10,000-degree press does wonders for the acidic sugar in the tomato; think sun-dried fruits that were actually dried in the actual sun. stuffed wavy-on-top-smooth-on-the-bottom toast with herb sprinkle presents well but I'm not sure what to do with the fork. shop is comfortable with seating available at a half dozen kitchen tables, a couple dinettes and wrought irony patio sets or a rumpus room couch. the hard part of casual is not trying to hard to look like you're not trying so hard. friendly and efficient CHoM pretty much nails it :-)

So many flavors to choose from, there's a ton here, and I asked some of the locals and they all have their favorites. The great thing is they will let you sample whatever your heart desires. So I tried almost all of the scooped ice cream, and then they had ice cream from the machine. Well in the end my dad wanted a strawberry milkshake, she wanted Butter Pecan - which they did not have - so we got her some Caramel Fudge thing and it was really good. Meanwhile I got 3 small scoops of ice cream - all different flavors. But the winner was the Strawberry Milkshake! Wow - I took a sip of my dad's and was like darn I should have gotten that instead of my 3 scoops. So why the hell not? I'm on vacay and won't be back here for a long time, in fact they are closing soon for the season, so I got myself a small strawberry milkshake - and it was awesome! Probably the best damn strawberry milkshake I've ever had! I mean - the last one I recall having was McDonald's I think, and this beats the heck out of that. Awesome ice cream and awesome friendly high energy peppy service here by all the girls who work here very well as a team. It's like a cheer squad in action - they yell out orders and directions and the person goes executes and brings your order. I'd be here every week in the spring and summer if I was around! Really reasonable prices too!

Delicious. Delightful. BEER…read more It's about a half hour from Clear Lake (our starting location) to Northwood, Iowa--location of Worth Brewing Company. Let me tell you, it is well WORTH the trip! First, the brewery is freaking gorgeous. There are beautiful wood floors and a cool, old wood ceiling. There's a big English/Irish-style bar, which makes sense because their beer has a lot of UK/Irish influence. There is also plenty of seating. The tall, bearded man behind the counter let me decide between the two IPAs on tap. Both were delicious, but I went with the double. "The higher alcohol content usually sways people to the double," he joked. There was a great variety of beers on tap. They had several different styles to cater to all tastes. All were listed on a chalkboard up on the wall, and it seems like they keep their beer list up-to-date on their website as well. Someone took great care in setting up this brewery. The beers are actually kept at the correct temperature for their style, not just "cold." It was most impressive. The beers were top-notch. I'd definitely recommend a nice, little drive over to Worth Brewing.
