Subject: Complaint Regarding Service and Communication…read more I am very disappointed with my recent experience at the Manning location of Best Buy / Geek Squad. On February 23, I dropped off my laptop due to login issues after an update. I explained it was tax season and I urgently needed my computer. I was told my ticket would be marked urgent and that I would receive a call with updates. I never received any communication. By Wednesday at 7:45 PM, I went into the store because I had heard nothing. There were no Geek Squad staff present. A clerk tried to locate my work order but could not find it. She said she would leave a message for Geek Squad to call me the next morning. No one called. On Thursday, after losing four days of work, I drove 30 minutes in poor weather to the store. I was told my computer had not yet been completed and, in fact, work had not begun until I arrived. I was also told a call had been made to me, which I did not receive. I was then told it would be ready at 4:00 PM that day. I returned, and it was finally completed. An assistant manager acknowledged the delay and offered a $50 gift card, which I never received. This issue is not about the amount offered -- it is about the lack of communication, accountability, and respect for my time and livelihood. I request a formal explanation of what occurred and how this will be prevented in the future. Sincerely, Lori Lee MacPherson

Possibly the worst experience I have ever had. I went to the Geek Squad counter. I was the only…read morecustomer at Geek Squad. Initially my Geek Squad agent attended to me and proceeded to look after the problems I was having with my laptop. He then left me sitting unattended while he proceeded to assist every other customer and ignored me completely. It was 15 minutes past the store closing time before he returned to tell me I was able to leave. I was literally the very last person in the store. When I tried to exit the store I found that I was locked in and wasn't able to get out. It was only when I began shouting that someone appeared and unlocked the door so I could exit the store. This experience makes me question why I pay a monthly fee for Geek Squad when the service I received was so unbelievably substandard and lacking entirely any element of even basic customer consideration. Dismal and disappointing treatment by Geek Squad.

Unlocked phones come at a steep price but to some it is well worth it. The staff is great, really helpful and friendly. Keep in mind you also pay a premium for a lot of these unlocked phones, as they are not sold with any phone plan to offset the phone costs. If a new phone appears overseas, Omegacell will most likely have it within the following week. Although some of their phone prices are not cheap, they offer excellent service and the staff are extremely knowledgeable in the cell phone market. Walk inside and the majority of their popular phones are well laid out in a class counter for you to see; don't be afraid to ask to try the phones too as these are all REAL, charged phones (unlike the dummy ones you see at other stores). One of the staffers even let me use his phone as a demo to see how a 'used' version of the phone felt. If you're not in the market for one of the latest phones from overseas, you can also look into more reasonable phones with down-to-earth phone plans, as they are also a Fido phone provider. They have also provide thin film screen protectors for your phone, and will even apply it on your phone for you...and trust me, this is well worth the price as it can get extremely annoying if you're not used to applying them. If you're looking for the ultimate protection for your phone, Omegacell offers the InvisibleShield film, which they will also apply for you, but for an additional $10 (depending on the model). If you read about the newest phones that come out and want to even hold it in your hand, there is no better place to see, touch, and talk about it!

To phone customer service took 54min on hold to pretty much get told to go f&*k myself when I finally got to talk with someone. Plans are cheap, usually you get what you pay for... but not with freedom, you get alot less than what you pay for. Salesman answered my questions: 1) Will I have service and data where I work, on the other side of the freeway, he said yes, I HAD NO DATA COVERAGE. 2) Wife said we were going to the mountains for our anniversary and would need data for maps, salesman told us yes that is what the 500mb out of city data is for, WE HAD NO DATA, NONE!!!, a 6h traffic delay on the day of our anniversary would leave us without data, more importantly maps, and basically ruined our anniversary. 3) Salesman told us we would get the promotion of $45/month on the $60/month plan... bill gets emailed to me for $198.43 FOR THE FIRST WEEK AND NEXT MONTHS SERVICE, this does not include a phone as we brought our own. If you want to feel ripped off, and get garbage coverage and service, go ahead and get a freedom mobile plan. We went back to our provider we had used before and they had trouble getting our phone numbers switched back over, just to top off the unimaginable horror of going with freedom mobile for 8 days. They also want me to pay complete for the month I did not use.
