His UTI was really bad but since i treated him before and he passed the ultrasound i figured him urinating on my favorite boots and throughout the house was his way of showing dominance. There's a stray cat that keeps conning to my house but i can't catch it i figured thiscat was stressing him out as well as the house renovations. But when i heard him growl...yes growl followed but a loud hiss i knew something was wrong. I called a local inexpensive traveling vet and he referred me to SR SHERA. Within 10 minutes she assed, loved on and treated him. I spent more time learning from her about his behavoir than expected but she was very patient with me. She was awesome! I recommend her to anyone who has cats she is very knowledgeable, kind and patient. With humans too!!!

No issues, they took him in, trimmed his nails, returned him to me with a carrier, I paid the $29, and was on my way. Still not able to get into my garage, I took him in again today wrapped in a towel. When the nail tech brought him back out, he was in a cardboard box carrier. I went to pay was told I needed to pay $16 for the carrier. I told the woman at the front desk (who was beyond rude and condescending) that I did not ask for the carrier. We went back and forth, but essentially, she insisted that I was told about the requirement to have a carrier at the last appointment. I was not told, and I was not given or charged for a carrier. This time around, the woman at the front desk told me it was not negotiable and I would not be allowed to take my cat out of their clinic without a carrier. I reminded her that I was not informed of the requirement at my last appointment and again, I would have borrowed a carrier for today's appointment if I knew it was mandatory, and again, would not be paying the $16. She accused me of lying, insisted I was told about the requirement at my last appointment. I was not. She was very rude and very condescending and implied I was not a responsible pet parent. I told her I guess I'm not a responsible pet parent and out of principle, I would not be paying for the carrier, and they could keep it. She then told me that if that's what I wanted, I could pay for the nail trim, there would be a $16 balance on my account, and I could not make another appointment unless I paid the $16. I told her that I had no plans to come back here. I paid for the nail trim, returned their stupid carrier, and left. Shame on this office!!!!

I usually take her to the Vetselect on Warren Ave in Dearborn Heights but they are closed on Thursdays so their phone directed me to the Dearborn location. A very lovely gal on the line was incredibly patient as my freaked out self started rambling about miss Penny's symptoms. She calmed me down and said they were able to squeeze us in for a 3pm appointment which I sincerely appreciated. I sat biting my nail for the next few hours. Since I'd never been to this location I had no idea where to park. It's behind the building, FYI. I ended up parking to the side and had quite the haul to the back door (which is the only entrance). So if you go cut down the alley to get to the back. They took us right back to a little room that was clean and comfortable. The nurse came in and asked a bunch of questions, took her temp and weighed her, all very gently and friendly. When the vet came in she did a thorough exam and deduced that little Penny was just sick with a tummy bug. WHEW. She presented me some treatment options, one more invasive than the other (to make sure that it WAS only a tummy bug) the other which was a little more chill. I asked her her opinion and she told me that she recommended the more conservative of the two which is what we went with. They gave kitty a shot, some antibiotics to take home, and some probiotics and bland food to take home as well. By the time we got home Penny was trying to eat my food off my plate so I guess she was feeling better! The vet, whose name I am unfortunately blanking on (will update with it later) was VERY sweet, gentle, and calming. I actually loved her so much that I think I'm going to change over and see her full time. I sincerely appreciated them fitting us in and taking care of my little one with the utmost care. Prices were fairly reasonable and the staff was incredibly nice. I couldn't have asked for a better scenario during such a stressful situation.

I was told my dog needed bloodwork prior to the clinic removing the tumor in their office. The blood work came back and I was told that his albumin numbers were too low. I explained to Dr.that I believed that my dog had a food allergy as he was throwing up the new food my daughter had bought. But Dr. did not think that was the case. and I was referred to get an ultrasound done as Dr. Puhl had thought my dog had an intestinal issue. I spent 500.00 fur ultrasound. . Testing came back normal. I bought another variety of food without sweet potatoes as an ingredient. He was no longer throwing up. Dr Pohl had suggested I bring him back for new bloodwork. His albumin had improved but Dr thought it was still not high enough to remove tumor. The tumor kept growing while waiting for his albumin numbers to increase. By the time his numbers slowly improved my pup could no longer have the tumor removed at Dearborn Family pet so I was referred to a surgical animal hospital. FOUR months after my initial visit he had his surgery. It was found that the tumor removed was an aggressive form of cancer. After the surgery I had showed my pups test results to another vet. They said there was NO reason why Dearborn Family Pet did not remove the tiny tumor months earlier as they felt his albumin number was not significantly low.. His tumor had grown from the size of a black pepper seed initially to the size of an avocado by the time he had surgery. Following the surgery he had recurring small tumors that developed as I was told due to the size the tumor had Brien they did their nest to get it all. The only vet I felt comfortable with at Dearborn Family Pet was Dr Goode... and she retired.

I looked up vets on Yelp to check websites. When I called here instead of an answering machine, a real person picked up the phone. After listening to me, she agreed that Oscar needed to be seen quickly. I couldn't bring him that afternoon because of work so I got the first appointment after work which was just 2 days. I knew he would make it that far. I brought him in and the care was for both of us. After the vet checked him, she agreed that it was time. He had a mass in the tummy area. I knew it was time when he didn't fight getting in the carrier and was quiet on the ride unlike 6 weeks ago when I had to move him to the new place. Since I had given shots to cats before I told them they didn't have to take him out of the room to give the shot to relax him so the IV could be placed. I was able to talk and pet him until he was relaxed. After taking him out to do that, he was brought back in wrapped in a soft towel so I could hold him. I was giving all the time I needed. The price was very reasonable. They didn't mind me using Pet Passages for the cremation and he could stay there until they picked him up that evening. Plenty of parking and evening hours make it convenient. Since I adopted a 17 year old cat, I will be using here for my vet.

When researching options to get vital medical care for our neighborhood stray, my first impression…read moreof the ultra organized process for getting animals neutered at Paws would be mechanical or impersonal. My experience was so far from this first impression. My husband and I found a stay kitty in our neighborhood right before the temperature was about to drop. We started calling him Mortimer (Morty for shorty). We didn't have the heart to put him out, but he had a pretty nasty respiratory infection, and we didn't know what else might be wrong, so we set him up in our breezeway and made some appointments. (Much longer story, cut to getting him neutered at Paws....) As soon as Morty's cold cleared up, I went through the phone request process with Paws as they are the most affordable and one of our other kitties was treated there before adoption. The call was easy, wait for 9am on Monday, make the call, wait for your turn, leave a message, and hope you were fast enough to get a call back to schedule for the next week. All of the standard stuff went the standard way, but we added on Combo Testing and Morty tested positive for both FIV and FeLV. I got a call on the day of his surgery to give me a heads up before I came to pick him up and my heart sank. I was grateful that we kept him quarantined from our other three cats, but we had him for a few weeks at this point and had grown very fond of his sweet and playful personality. I was visibly upset when I got there for pickup and the staff at Paws were so compassionate and helped me through the process of getting him the necessary confirmation tests to get him placement with a sanctuary for cats with FeLV. The wait for the sanctuary was difficult as every day Morty is with us he has grown on our hearts, but we got a call last week that he has a spot and we're driving him there tomorrow, just in time for Christmas! Thank you Paws, for having a huge heart for these animals and for the humans that do their best to keep them safe, warm, fed, and happy. For those concerned, Morty has a regressive (dormant) from of the virus and could not have passed it to our cats, but there was no guarantee that it wouldn't become active one day. He was never in the same room, let alone sharing food bowls, litter boxes, or grooming.

Extremely Disappointed and Heartbroken - Beware Before Taking Your Pet Here…read more On March 31st, I took my 2-year-old dog to Paws Clinic in Taylor, Michigan for a routine neutering. I followed every single post-op instruction to the letter. I stayed home from work to monitor him 24/7, kept him in his cone at all times, administered sedatives, and only took him out on a short, supervised leash. Despite all of this, within just 6 days, his incision split open and began bleeding. There were no visible sutures, and his regular vet confirmed the incision had almost completely reopened. He had to be re-sedated and restitched at a significant cost. When I called the clinic to explain what had happened, they completely dismissed my concern, blaming it on "licking" even though the records also note "trauma" as a possible cause. They refused to take any accountability or offer any help with the vet bill--even after I explained how careful I had been, and that my dog was never out of his cone. The day after being restitched by his regular vet, my dog was walking normally again--with no pain or discomfort, unlike the full week after the original neutering. That alone raises red flags. I feel the clinic either botched the procedure or used low-quality sutures that didn't hold. Either way, this should have never happened. They showed zero compassion and made no effort to make things right. This isn't just about money--it's about accountability and the of our pets. I would never recommend this place to anyone who truly loves their animal. They put my dog through unnecessary pain and stress and then turned their back when something clearly went wrong.

PLEASE BEWARE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE…read more Please read all this below I know it is long but it could save your pet. On 04/26/2023 Ford Caputo Veterinary Hospital killed my 4 year old cat. The doctor who killed my cat is Dr. Varujan Arman. We came in for a simple blood test. My cat was walking around in the exam room happy jumping up and down the table and full of life. The veterinary technician Patrice Reed came in the room before the doctor to take down information. She was unprofessional and rude the whole time and not listening to what we were saying. Technician Patrice Reed and Dr. Varujan Arman are responsible for my cats death. I trusted them. We wanted to do a blood test but the doctor kept insisting we do an x-ray. We listened to him because x-ray don't kill animals, it turns out he squeezed the life out of my cat to empty his stomach so he can see the x-ray clear. All he was supposed to do was an x-ray not squeeze out fluid from his body. We did not agree to anything else. Dr. Varujan Arman ended up removing too much fluid from my cat (which will cause the cat to go into shock) and squeezing the life out of my cat so he can see the x-ray clear. (google: "vet squeeze cat to death") it is possible to kill a cat that way. He damaged my cat's internal organs by squeezing him to hard. Dr. Varujan Arman is a large man who overpowered an innocent cat. They brought my cat back to me dying struggling to breath and he was full of feces and vomit from the ruptured organs. He ended up dying in the clinic. When I asked the doctor what happened, what did you do to my cat? He ended up yelling at me at the top of his lungs and kicked me out. He killed my cat and ended up yelling at me for asking what he did. My cat did not come in dying, he was alert and active. They took him to the back and killed him. Dr. Varujan Arman does not know what he is doing. Please do not take your pets to this clinic. They employee killers. When we got the discharge notes Dr. Varujan Arman lied on the paper work and the clinic supported him. Everything he said on the discharge was a lie which is insult to injury. On top of that the next day after they killed my cat they harassed me and sent me an email telling my cat "Happy Birthday". They know my cat died and were making fun of me by telling my cat happy birthday which does not make sense because that day is not my cat's birthday and this is my first time at this clinic. I am heart broken and I don't know how to move on. I feel guilty for taking my cat to this vet. I did not know it would be his last day alive. I keep wishing I did not take him here. I did not know a simple exam would kill him. He is only 4 years old. I have not been able to sleep, eat, or focus. I have to keep taking off work because I cannot concentrate. I am a teacher and it wouldn't be fair for my students. I don't feel like doing anything anymore. I am crying every couple hours. I am heartbroken.

We were allowed to visit outside by our car but then they would take the dog and out her down with no family present. Covid or not, that's heartless. Knowing what we know we could have work a mask. Gloves, goggles, whatever it took. They have a back room we could have entered and exited through the side door to not come into contact with anyone. We took her and went to Riverview Animal hospital. They had no appointments available but stayed late to help us out and kept a back room available. They allowed up to 2 people to be in there with our dog. One of us went in. It's hard enough putting down a loved one, but to abandon them when they are hurting and afraid seems inhumane. Thanks Riverview for having a heart. It worked out better too. We took her to get chicken nuggets and sit in the sun and watch her kid at the park for a while, right next door. A stress free final hour. I've questioned some stuff before during visits but they definitely get 5 stars for compassion in a time of dire need. And we greatly appreciate the personalized card mailed to us.
