I was initially very pleased with Furry Land Mobile Dog Grooming. I used them once, was happy with…read morethe service, and scheduled my next appointment for two months later. My appointment was scheduled for Monday at 9:00 AM. However, on Thursday, I received an email stating that my appointment had been successfully rescheduled to a different time. The problem was that I never requested a reschedule. If Furry Land needed to change my appointment, I would have expected a phone call to discuss available options rather than receiving an automated notification that the appointment had already been moved. The new appointment time did not work for me, so I called to discuss the situation. Unfortunately, I reached an answering service. They said they would contact the franchise owner and have someone call me back. Later, I received a call from a woman who identified herself as the manager. When I explained my concern, she repeatedly told me that she had not rescheduled the appointment and that "the system" had done it. While that may have been true, it completely missed the point of my concern. My issue was not who or what changed the appointment--it was that the appointment was changed without my knowledge, approval, or input. Rather than acknowledging that frustration or offering a solution, the conversation kept returning to the fact that the system made the change. At that point, I realized we were not going to reach an understanding, so I asked that my appointment be canceled and decided to find another mobile groomer. I made one phone call and secured an appointment with another groomer for the very next day. The grooming service itself was good, which makes this experience disappointing. Customer service and communication matter just as much as the quality of the grooming, and unfortunately, this experience fell short of my expectations.

Finding excellent groomers like Kathie and her daughter is rare! The hair cut is even and Little Steven is happy to go with them. After the spa treatment they give him he enjoys his afternoon nap. It had to have been horrifically painful to her as she then started to bite the brush, scissors and groomer. The tongue immediately started bleeding where it had been cut off. When we went to pick her up, their story was that 'for 'unknown' reasons, she started biting and wouldn't calm done and she bit her own tongue off". Her tongue bled for hours. She had been groomed there for months. She always licks when there is water on her face. The groomer was negligent with her sharp scissors. IF YOU TAKE YOUR DOG TO 'HAPPY TAILS 'TO BE GROOMED,BEWARE, AS IT COULD BE A VERY UNHAPPY AND PAINFUL EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR BELOVED PET!!!!

More importantly, they take excellent care of my tiny little baby Maltese who was downright traumatized by her first two visits to the groomers: PetSmart and PetCo! Yeah, I didn't know any better! *facepalm* I've always had dogs and cats, but she's the first one I've ever had that requires actual grooming on a regular basis -- instead of the occasional bath & nail trim at the vet! Speaking of which, they always grind the nails, never cut! That and expressing the anal glands is included in the price, though you do have to pay extra for tooth brushing! They're so gentle that she doesn't mind going, and she's never traumatized and shaking when I pick her up -- just happy to see me after an hour apart! ALSO... If your dog has more than a little matting despite daily brushing because you've never had a longhaired breed before and don't know what you're doing, remember: humanity over vanity! Take them here to be shaved down gently and safely without being traumatized! Then listen very carefully when they tell you exactly what tools and techniques you should be using from now on, and how often! So far, every groomer there has been great - but Jazz is particularly awesome! Remember to tip your groomer!
