I can tutor 9th graders in math quite well. As for your 3rd grader, I am more helpful in math above flashcards. Sorry I took so long to notice your yelp community question.

I took another review course before the Blueprint prep course, which was referred to me by another…read morestudent and he was absolutely "right". This is the best LSAT course in the industry. I signed up with the live lecture course and Mehrdad Alvandi is a great instructor; he is focused and entertaining (keeps you awake). One thing that one gets by attending a live lecture, is that the instructor is right there if you have questions about the homework, etc. Frankly exposed, this LSAT in my opinion, is a beast of an exam. This is where logic and reading comprehension gets tested at its max. Without a good score, no ABA school will even give a law applicant an admission ticket. I will post my results later, since I am going to take the exam later this year. In the meantime, if you think of joining Blueprint, you can't go wrong. They have online practice questions and excellent videos. So to conclude, if you are serious, I mean serious, sign up with Blueprint. To be continued..

Kyran was a wonderful instructor and made every minute of the 4 hour 2x a week course productive and informative. My score went up 15 points under her guidance and the material provided by Blueprint. She's quick to respond to any questions and is great when helping students with individual problems. It's a tough job to make studying for the LSAT enjoyable and extremely productive but she succeeded.

You have the option of a strictly online course, an in class course or both. I took both the online and in class course. It was very helpful because I always had access to each lesson online if I needed to review a lesson. The class is about 4hrs so your bound to space off at some point and this is where the online videos come in handy. I also had to miss a couple of classes but again I was able to see the lessons online. The course material for the LSAT is dense regardless of what prep course you take! However, the humor in the books, online course and the in class instructors make for a fun learning environment. My favorite thing about this course is how learnable they make the material out to be. They have a lot of resources to help students out and do whatever they can to help. My instructor Daniel was very down to earth, friendly and knew exactly what he was doing. I never felt intimidated to ask him to explain something again or in a different manor. My score increased by +14 points so I'm very happy with the experience and result after taking the course. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to increase their score. p.s. Do the homework! It's how you'll increase your score and It will make your experience much better.

I strongly recommend taking a class with Kyran if she's still teaching. Regardless, the Blueprint method is stellar, and I recommend it to all my friends who are studying for the LSAT. The course is not cheap, but it's an investment that will pay off big time. Look around online for discount codes-- they can knock off a few hundred bucks off the price.

I've been writing Yelp reviews for a while and it is extremely rare for someone to have 40+ reviews…read moreand have almost all of them be 5 stars. In this instance they are well-deserved. I was in Nathan's LSAT class in April and May of 2013 and benefited greatly from it. The material on the LSAT is boring as hell and Nathan does a great job of making the class fun with his humor. Nathan is constantly arguing with the speaker and using profanity (which is hilarious, btw) to keep the class alive. Actually, I think he's just being himself which makes the otherwise dry material very entertaining. Nathan scored a 179 on the LSAT so it seems he can do most of these in his sleep if he wanted to. The class is located at the Westfield mall right above the Powell Street BART station so getting there is very convenient if you MUNI or BART. In addition to covering the LSAT section he does a 30 minute Q&A before every class (530pm-6pm) where you can ask him anything related to law school. He is always honest about the pros and cons of pursuing a legal career which I appreciated. He also did a great job of bringing in guest speakers to answer questions you may have. Nathan is always available to his students. You can always email him and he'll get back to you. If you have a question about applying, want to send him your personal statement or got stuck on a question he's your man. I admire how available he makes himself. You can tell he wants to help people succeed on the LSAT and get into the best possible law school they can. One thing I particularly appreciated is he allowed me to pay on a payment plan. This helped ease some of the financial burden of a $500 a month class. His prices are very reasonable and worth every cent but his flexibility was very much appreciated. Nathan also offered proctored tests on the weekends so you get to mimic test conditions. I found those valuable. Unless you're an outstanding test taker my advice would be to take the class for 1-2 months. At that point you start to see the patterns in some of the logic games and get a feel for how to set them up and you may be able to recognize certain types of questions throughout the test. I 100% unequivocally recommend Fox Test prep. I researched a couple of places before choosing Nathan's class and preferred to support a local business and I can guarantee Nathan is funnier and more effective than any of the big test prep services out there. Thanks Fox Test prep!

I took the June-July LSAT class with a fee waiver and had Austen Yueh as my instructor. This review…read more(and the five stars) is primarily for Austen's teaching. Austen is a phenomenally bright instructor who exudes warmth and a genuine desire for her students to succeed. She is methodical and highly skilled at explaining complex inferences, which was incredibly helpful for mastering logic games. Austen often went above-and-beyond to help ensure that her students could succeed. She made herself available to her students before and after class via email, and often stayed for well past-hours after each class to field any additional questions her students had. Despite the fact that nearly every student was taking this class after a full work day, Austen did a tremendous job keeping the class thoroughly engaged and entertained (with pizza and ice cream to boot!). Having primarily self-studied for my first attempt at the LSAT (using 7sage, Powerscore, the LSAT Instructor, etc.), I was initially wary of taking a course for my second attempt. Having received my results last week, though, I can definitively say that taking Austen's class affirmed my choice and will (fingers crossed!) be what makes the difference in getting accepted into my dream law school. If you're looking for an LSAT prep course, I would highly recommend taking Austen's class at Blueprint!

Aaron is literally the best. There are so many LSAT courses so I know it can feel overwhelming…read more After doing research for two months Blueprint stood out as the best course. I took the Spring San Francisco course with Aaron who was an awesome instructor. Every day of class I would come to class excited to learn and hear his lame jokes. Not only did the jokes help me stay up since the class is from 6 pm - 10 pm it also allowed to remember complex concepts in a fun way. I felt throughout the course I was overly supported. My instructor was available to offer advice, study tips and homework review before and after class. After each exam (especially when I hit a wall with my score) Aaron helped me switch up my testing strategies to find something that worked for me so my score would continue to increase! I also enjoyed the class overall because everyone there was very friendly, and it was a lighthearted environment where no question was viewed as stupid or obvious. The online component was also super helpful, one day I was too sick to go to class so I had to watch the lesson online which allowed me to keep up with the class. I love the Chain of Being because it feels like studying for the LSAT is a video game which brings me back to my PS2 days. Overall, great course for anyone who really wants to perform above and beyond on the LSAT! Also, my score has increased drasitcially!

It's been a year but I figured it was time for an update. Few notes: I did not go to law school…read moreimmediately after last Spring, and took a break from studying until this summer when I picked it up again. Got a 175 this time around. Review of Online Materials: I re-activated my Blueprint account again, which (frustratingly) does NOT allow you to reset your progress upon return after so long, thereby making all the tests/questions you used in the past (even if it was over a year ago), unusable. That is one critical flaw that the Blueprint folks absolutely should fix. With that being said though, the test has changed a lot over the last year - mainly with the change of format to digital. As it so happens, Blueprint does a largely great job of providing a large bank of questions and exams for people to practice in the digital format - which I found very helpful - especially in drilling by question type, difficulty, etc. The ability to filter question banks by a variety of filters really helped me drill through material to get better at tricky question types and start identifying commonalities in the mistakes I made. So overall, for a new user, I would absolutely recommend the online materials (barring the issues I mentioned above (and previously). Review of the Berkeley Course with Mike: Given the length of time that has passed between the time I took the Spring 2018 course and the LSAT, I'm not sure how much of a useful update I can provide to the in-class experience. Especially with the change in format, because the way I remember RC being taught in class will now be drastically affected by the test going digital, so I'm not sure what that looks like anymore. With that being said, my opinion of Mike as an instructor remains the same. He was incredibly helpful; and if you know how to ask for help, he's there to give it. *Final note: The course and materials are helpful. And certainly helped provide me the motivation I needed. But these can be very expensive, so if you decide to go for it, go in with the right mindset. Don't skip classes, engage, do the assigned homework, and do additional practice ON YOUR OWN TIME. Good luck!

Awesome LSAT prep course!…read more If you are a VISUAL LEARNER and find cartoons and diagrams helpful in understanding material, then this prep course is for you! Blueprint learning material and instructors teach you what and how to study for the LSAT in a fun and entertaining way! Before Blueprint, I took the Kaplan prep course and was unhappy with it. Kaplan did not match my learning style. I found Kaplan learning material and instructors bland and unappealing. Kaplan is black and white while Blueprint is vibrant and visually grabs your attention and desire to want to learn and actually enjoy studying. After I completed the Blueprint classroom instruction, my LSAT score DID improve! I got accepted into law schools and next year will be graduating. So if you want to boost your LSAT score, then enroll here! You will not be disappointed! Persevere and you will succeed!

[TL;DR Doug is an incredible tutor. He is engaged, knows the LSAT inside and out, helped me bring…read moremy score above 175, and is 100% worth the price.] I struggle with making decisions very badly, especially when they feel like particularly important decisions. I place importance upon two axes: how much the choice will cost me and how long the choice at hand may last into the future. For example, an inexpensive wine at Trader Joe's is nowhere near as difficult a choice as a $500-$1,000 mattress I will sleep on every night for the next 5-7 years. Naturally, based on these two criteria, picking an LSAT study strategy felt extremely important; not only was the price tag fairly high, but this choice could shape my career trajectory for the rest of my life. I considered a handful of different tutoring options...courses by popular providers like Blueprint, 7Sage, and Kaplan as well as tutoring by some smaller services. In these considerations, I also consulted a lot of different forums; reddit, yelp, and some independent tutor rating services. Ultimately, Doug seemed more qualified than the other sources I had consulted. I worked with Doug from early September up to a November LSAT administration, he was consistent, on time, engaged, communicative, and knew the LSAT questions inside and out. We were able to talk not only about what the right answer was, but also why other answer choices were wrong. He provided strategies and approaches for the exam, and correct approaches of mine that were not serving me. November was the first time I ever sat for the LSAT, and I ended with a score I was thrilled with. I know LSAT tutors can be expensive and this price tag can be intimidating, but I seriously cannot recommend the extra money enough--if you can afford it, which I recognize is a privilege. If starting off with individual sessions seems too expensive, I would also recommend trying a hybrid strategy by first exhausting free resources (shoutout to khan academy, which I used for ~6-8 months before working with Doug) and then working with a private tutor--Doug--who will actually help you achieve what you want through targeted, one-on-one help once your practice score plateaus and/or once your test date approaches. And remember, the law school you go to can/will have an impact on your career outcomes, and the money you spend on the LSAT could pay itself back within your first few months--or even weeks--of your career. Good luck out there to all of you LSAT prepping law school hopefuls reading this, and again, I cannot recommend Doug enough for those of you who really want to see the best results possible on your LSAT. Bonus: All of our tutoring sessions were completely virtual, which is great not only for the pandemic, but also for those who are located outside of Doug's Bay Area/Arizona locales but still looking for a highly-qualified tutor. Tutoring/learning over Zoom can be less than ideal for some, but Doug has enough virtual capabilities configured that learning over Zoom was no problem. He was able to share a virtual "paper" and draw out solutions and other visualizations that may be necessary to the learning process. The virtual aspect is all pro, no con.
