The price is the same cash or charge. One has to pay $9 dollars for a car wash if you want gas for $3.65. Mobil Gas is a multi billion dollar company. I only came here for a quick car wash in the morning, since I was one of the designated drivers for an office lunch outing that day. I had a lukewarm reception from the guy behind the counter. There were some snacks stacked atop the counter, so I waited patiently for the man that was going to purchase them to return. I watched him, as he indecisively walked back and forth in front of the deli fridge for a beverage and finally returned to the counter to complete his transaction. Come my turn, about five minutes later, the cashier mumbled something to me and pointed to a sign listing the three car wash options. I selected the middle one for $8.99, I believe. So not worth it! I could have gotten much better results from a gas station close to my house. First off, you have to maneuver your way around the gas pump aisles and drive into a narrow lane to get to the entrance of the car wash. I was forced to open my door, in order to reach the key pad to enter the code. Before you enter, there's a sign posted on the left wall stating "Touch-Free Car Wash. The car wash is designed to maintain a clean car. Dirt build-up or after rain road film will not be removed". Just below that reads, "NO REFUND ON CAR WASH". I had already paid before I read the sign. Thus, I had no choice, but to enter. I probably would have gotten a better wash, by using the water from the Doggy Wash at the corner, if I'd washed my car myself! Gas prices were noticeably higher than the United Oil station across the street. They had a small Subway connected to the mini mart, but I'm not sure whether or not it was even open because I didn't see anyone walk in or out of its doors. read more

Turns out, WITHOUT Car wash service, it is 20 cents more originally. Beware!! At the pump I decide to get a car wash because it's advertised that you can save $.20 per gallon. I'm watching the pump as I fill up and I'm seeing that I'm being charged the same price as advertised on the large sign on the corner. Then I noticed the small letters below the prices - price with carwash. So you come to this Mobil thinking you're going to be paying 3.20 a gallon when you really pay 3.40. Then I look at the station across the street. Two of the 3 stations have sign that say 3.20... but no carwash caveat. There's a gas station on each corner of this intersection and Mobil is pretending to have competitive prices. Most people probably don't even noticed that they aren't paying what's advertised on the sign. This dishonesty tells me a lot about this company. I'm angry and I won't stop at Mobil again. Also the car wash did not clean my car. I paid for the express and the film of dirt on my car is still there. read more

When I was in line a customer had returned to the store after erroneously purchasing a power steering bottle instead of a gas treatment bottle. The customer was trying to tell the cashier that he had bought the wrong product - didn't put blame on ANYBODY - and the cashier immediately got defensive and shouted, "Not my problem! Take your car to mechanic across street (referring to the Shell station mechanic)." The cashier's reaction was so unnecessary and not at all sympathetic. The customer was just saying that he bought the wrong stuff! Annnnd, because of that I have never been back. I made the mistake of stopping here when I needed to use the restroom. I asked if there was a restroom and the attendant said we have a ladies room in the back. He showed me and it had a unisex sign on the door. He said he needs to cover up the male icon because it's a ladies room. I asked if I could use it and he said yes, but it's a ladies room. I used the restroom despite his rudeness. I assume he was unprofessional because I wore a mask inside. Insulting customers will not make your business thrive, my friend. I don't use this gas station, since of the three others located on the other corners of the cross streets (governor and genesee) it is always 10c to 25c more expensive. The price they advertise on the board includes the 20c discount if you purchase a car wash. Its kind of shady advertising, because this fact is written under the sign in easy to miss smaller writing. I got suckered into it once; it looked like a better price than the other three stations, but wasn't. I came here today because I had a gift card and was surprised to see they accept Plenti rewards now! At least I could get some points out of it. The machine told me I had $11 Plenti credit and asked me if I wanted to use them. I pressed yes and started to fuel. Well, no gas came out!!! After a minute of trying, the machine timed out, the transaction was cancelled and it instructed me to replace the nozzle. When I went to start again, my $11 was gone!!!!!! So I went inside and informed the attendant and he could care less. He basically told me the "points should be there" (they weren't) and that his computer didn't show any "bad" records of my transaction. He told me to email the Plenti people and tell them what happened. Sure, because they're just going to believe me that I didn't get the gas. He was unwilling to write a note to attest to the fact or anything. Furthermore, he was completely unconcerned with the fact that the pump was NOT working. I mean, he could have at least checked on it, put an "out of order" sign or something so the next person would know. He was completely and utterly uncompassionate (just stated that he "never did like that Plenti thing), unconcerned and unwilling to help. Pretty disappointing to say the least. Once I did start to fuel my car, it seemed to take forever. The one exit is also in a bad spot (you have to turn right only) and there is no place to do a U-turn for a while while the other one (again, right turn only) requires you to get three lanes to the left in a few feet to do a U-turn). Other and the dog wash (which is a great idea and really nice), this place has absolutely nothing to offer that would make me want to go there again. And at the higher cost and horrible service, everything going for it to make me never go again (and to make sure I tell everyone else not to). read more

i have been a customer for years and i went in one night and one of the employees was out on the floor with his mask below his mouth. i asked him would you please put your mask on when you are around me. the next thing you know he is in my face telling me too bad. i backed off and said get away from me, and he continued to follow me around the small store as i was trying to get away from him. i decided to search out the owner and to my surprise he is walking in from the outside as i was walking out. i went to complain. the problem this sob had his mask below his nose. i knew i was never going to get any satisfaction as these days the employee always seems to be right. they also own the subway which i have spent many dollars at. i will never do business with them again. this all happened in mid april. i finally decided to write this terrible review after not being on yelp for awhile. read more

Problem I have with this business is that there doesn't seem to be much protection from credit card fraud. This is the branded gas station closest to my mom's house, and the one where I almost exclusively buy Mobil gasoline. The station is clean, they offer the usual variety of convenience goods, a car wash, and even a dog wash. They also have a Subway, and you can buy compressed gas if you need it for your bar-b-que. The owner is very friendly, and the staff is attentive. The bathrooms are even clean! They even mention on the pumps that to get the advertised price on the electric sign, you have to buy a car wash. So why then did I give this gas station a 2 star rating? About 9 months ago I was contacted by two credit card companies regarding credit card fraud. What seems strange is that I only use my credit cards for two or three things. Making online purchases, buying gasoline, and booking plane tickets and hotel rooms when I travel. (I am a cash kind of guy.) Since I was in Costa Rica twice in the past year, I couldn't rule out the possibility that the fraud happened there. Instead of just shrugging my shoulders I got a Mobil and a Chevron gasoline card about 6 months ago, to reduce my MasterCard and Visa use even further. About 3 weeks ago I was contacted by Citibank, the issuers of my Exxon-Mobil credit card regarding suspicious charges. Sure enough, there were charges I didn't make, because they were in the greater Los Angeles area, and for amounts of gasoline my car can't even take even if it was bone dry. With the exception of 3 or 4 other Mobil gasoline stations, all the rest of my charges for Mobil gasoline (approximately 45 out of 50 over a six month period) were made at this station at the corner of Governor Drive and Genesee. I contacted the owner, who acknowledged that someone had installed hacking hardware on the card readers on his pumps a year ago, but he said that problem was taken care of. (Again, the owner strikes me as a real nice guy.) He said, it is always possible that someone has hacked into their wireless system that transmits payments, and stolen the information that way. I appreciate the honesty. To me however, the headache of having to deal with credit card fraud to me is not worth it. Not only do you have to take time out of your life to dispute the charges, but you have to monitor your existing accounts, and credit report to make sure that no one has opened up new accounts with the information they stolen. I really think he and everyone else should take credit card fraud more seriously, and if I discover a security breach at a merchant it makes it really hard for me to continue giving someone my business. read more

Only when I pulled up to the pump did I notice the small print above it that said you had to buy a $6 carwash to get that price; otherwise it was $4.09; the most expensive of the four stations at the intersection. I was there yesterday and did not note the twenty cent difference from the posted price. I stopped pumping and went inside. The attendant was cursing at someone over the phone. I waited and began to ask about the difference. Before I finished, he said "read the signs" and said " if you don't like it call the owner". I then asked what his number was and he motioned me away and said " get out".I asked his name and he flippantly said " Mohammed or whatever".
