One thing I've been impressed with is that the store and grounds are very clean and orderly. Notice how the buildings of Clarence Brown Oil all are tan with white trim. There is obviously a measure of pride here. This business has been in operation for more than seventy years and they seem fastidious about it. Inside The Breakyard it's like many gas station convenience stores, except they have a deli counter that prepares sandwiches and a couple of booths to sit at. So, it's kind of like a Wawa store... if you have experienced that. Not a lot to say here except that it's a nice clean gas station and convenience store.

Yes, you can literally bring your dog here and wash your dog in a self-contained little booth, just like you would your car. I normally don't have such strong feelings about gas stations, but I really liked this place A LOT.

Then said let's sit down and tell me what you want. It was clear he didn't read our correspondence and didn't really care. The second rep seemed to be excited at first, but that's as far as it went. The rep never returned any answers to my questions or even replied to asking if they were doing anything. I do not know what their problem is but if this is customer service and care, go somewhere else that will not waste your time.

However, when you travel with a large vehicle at 5 am, sometimes places with filtered coffee are the only option. One thing they have here, and quite popular in Vermont, is a selection of filtered coffee from "Green Mountain Coffee". To offer it, the have isolated coffee pots to keep the various kind hot, One thing that I worry in those cases is how long ago was this coffee made? Well, I noticed that these pots have little displays with indicators that lets you know how long ago the coffee was made! The place is not really a track stop but some trucks come here and there are diesel pumps for it,

It's close proximity to the border (roughly 10 miles) and their clean washrooms plus snack selection make it a good stop for us and help serve our needs. Gas was $2.49 a gallon on my stop for 87 octane which is a steal compared to the $1.20 we pay roughly a L in Quebec. They do also have free WIFI that there is no password to login to. On the way back home I was very pleased to pick up two 12 packs of Harpoon beer for $15.99 each. Harpoon is an awesome beer that Is Vermont/Boston brewed. They call it a New England IPA. If you like Sam Adams give Harpoon a try. Sure there is a closer gas station to the border but we enjoy hitting up this one in St Albans and will keep on doing so in our travels in the future!

While the counter girl was friendly, it was the worst steak and cheese sub I have ever had. I expect a little something better than a Steak'um heated up with some cheese thrown on top. I couldn't even receive American cheese when I asked. I'm not a fan of provolone. I didn't finish the sandwich and had to grab a bag a chips to hold me over. Stupid check out system as well. You have to wait in line and pay at the register in the convenience store, not at the Amato's counter. Mind you the line is a mile long because this must be the only place to get gas and groceries in St. Albans. I have yet to find decent food along I-89 Vermont.

The 2 reasons they refused to fill the prescription... "it's too hectic in here," it's too hectic in here & it's cheaper to buy Aleve OTC." Yeah. My copay is $0. A little hard to beat that price if I pay for OTC. I have 2 prescriptions that still haven't been filled. They were called in on 9/19. I confirmed via Walgreens text that I needed both filled that day. It is 9/23. I called yesterday to ask if they could fill them. Nobody answered the phone. I called today to ask for the status & surprise surprise, this location is temporarily closed due to staff having the same head cold half our town has. Enough is enough. Highly do not recommend using this location. I really miss Rite Aid and their amazing pharmacy team! From the moment Walgreens took over we've had nothing but issues. Transferring all of our scripts to Price Chopper.
