A truck dropped a metal object onto Highway 94 going West by the Huron Exit and i did not see it…read moreuntil too late. My tire BLEW out immediately and i was fortunate to remember in seconds the Riverside Shell station just 2 blocks off the Westbound 94 Exit. The owner Elair, an extremely gracious and kind gentleman from a small country near Nigeria, dropped everything and immediately came to my rescue. He has owned this station since 2013. The blow out left my tire with a huge torn hole and he agreed i was lucky to have made it the 2 blocks to his station. He quickly took off the tire of my old Lexus RX, found the spare under the car, released it from it's undercarriage cover, put it on then checked the air in all four tires-- just in 30 minutes so i was able to arrive at my appointment just 15 minutes late!! For this he charged me a very reasonable fee and thus i decided to give him the business of purchasing a new tire to put in the spare tire undercarriage. He is a FULL service gas station EXTREMELY CLOSE to highway 94 ( one of the closest full service stations between U of Mn at Huron and Riverside). I definitely shall return to try his other car repair skills!

These guys told me to come right in and they had my tire patched up and ready to go in no time. Thank you, Riverside Marathon, for your speedy service and reasonable pricing! I hope not to get another nail in one of my tires, but if I do, I know where I'll go. :)

The humble sandwich…read more It's come a long way. Who remembers baloney? Those weird little perfectly circular processed meat slices Oscar Meyer tricked a couple of generations of Americans into feeding their children. For much of my childhood, that's what a sandwich was. Processed meat slice, processed cheese slice, mustard or mayo, safely nestled between two slices of perfectly square bread. Seriously, what was with all those perfectly symmetrical food stuffs? Did we think it was the future? The less food like our food looked, the more amazing and sophisticated it was? Perhaps these sandwiches were a remnant of that 1950's mentality, not a kitschy revival like hoop skirts and gas guzzling automobiles, but a nefarious vestigial element that had been there all along. I ate those baloney sandwiches, but I'm not quite sure when the sandwiching world got turned upside down. Sure, they had always been those renegade restaurant sandwiches. Your monte cristos, and your clubs. Maybe in some sinful metropolitan areas some deviant homosexual artist types had been experimenting, but I swear one day advanced sandwichery suddenly exploded into the suburbs and other parts of "real America". What was this thing claiming to be a sandwich? It's bread wasn't square, and it had "texture" and "flavor"! I hear there might actually be nutrients in it! What's an aoili? Who on earth started putting sprouts and avocado on everything?? What is this non circular meat like substance in the middle? The earliest incarnation of this I can recall was schlotzsky's deli. That was just a premonition; I don't think the thing had fully gained steam yet. I don't really remember when it did, but you can guess it was a couple years before Arby's started selling "market fresh sandwiches", Wendy's started selling "Frescata sandwiches" and I think even McDonald's is in on the act. My point (if I have one) is that sometime in the past ten years, the common conception of what a sandwich is has changed in this country. So when I walked into M Deli looking a quick lunch I could grab and eat later, and I had certain expectations. Sure, these were pre-made, wrapped sandwiches. I wasn't looking for a Piccasso, but the sandwiches were located between the sushi and the hummus, forgive me for getting my hopes up! I grabbed a turkey and hoped for the best. Oh dear. Little did I know I had just picked up a time warp. Squishy, perfectly square bread. Four or five slices of compressed turkey like substance. A perfect little square of American cheese, and a flimsy single layer of sickly looking lettuce. I have bought better sandwiches from GAS STATIONS. M Deli, you have brought shame upon the name "deli" and punctured my delicate fantasy that perhaps we as a nation had collectively made some progress, if only on so minor an issue.

I took my car here to fix the A/C a little under a year ago and they had put a whole new compressor…read morein and it costed me around $700 to do so. They did it quick and it worked for a little while but, ended up busting on me and is now leaking everywhere. I tried calling them about this and while i didn't have my invoice from this, i figured they should have some kind of record of the transaction. Turns out they do but he sends them off to his accountant and couldn't be bothered trying to find it. Then told me it had been over a year when he didn't even know that because he didn't have the date of the appointment. Kinda upsetting seeing as that's a lot of money to spend to not even have it hold up for an entire year

He was asking me for 1,300 for all of that. My axle was about to brake off my front of my car and he said to fix it he was going to charging me 700 for that. My axle was working pretty fine until 2 weeks later and it started to sound like a clunking sound when I run over bumps. It sounds broken to me. he is a nice person but he is charging way to much for it to brake again. So I ended up going some else and they charged me only 1,000 to fully fix my car. So if you wanna get scammed go here. if not go to the one down the street Dave's auto shop!!!
