This gas station has existed as long as I can remember. It's huge, with 16 fuel pumps (including some diesel pumps), and is conveniently located off I-95, and next to a commuter rail station. Fuel prices seemed a bit higher than average, but didn't rise to the level of 'highway robbery' that stations in prime locations sometimes sometimes command, so kudos for that.
In contrast to the fueling operations, the convenience store itself is small, but it does have a public bathroom, which wins major points. Despite the store's small size, it features a decent number of drink and snack options, and appeared to be neatly organized and well stocked.
The station suffers a bit from lack of maintenance: at least two fuel pumps, as well as a piece of equipment (not sure what it was, since it was covered by a trash bag) next to the air machine, were out of order. Their tall Mobil sign was faded and peeling. And some floor tiles in the store were missing.
Another negative: the station can only be accessed from the southbound lanes (heading toward Pawtucket), due to a solid median.
But, other factors offset the decaying facility, and limited access. The man behind the counter was super-friendly, and greeted me as soon as I walked in. He seemed to engage regular customers in conversation. Also, whoever owns the store attempted to make the bathroom feel like home, with a vase of flowers on the sink, and some kitschy signs hung on the wall, the type of thing wifey would want me to hang in our kitchen. read more
