Each dish was described in precise detail with the thought behind each dish explained and why they sourced the ingredients and where the ingredients came from . Additionally, the chef came out at the end and chatted with us. He is a super friendly guy and very passionate about cooking. The second time around was good but not as memorable as the first. The wait staff didn't have the same passion behind the food and were more there to bring and take away your food. The food menu rotates every week. You can find the menu being served that week on the website. The main components of the following weeks menus will be on the website as well. You will need to book well in advance as the venue is small and books up quickly. You are unlikely to be able to see the menu the week of and then book based on the menu. My second visit the meal was four courses with an amouse bouche and bread and butter to start at a cost of 600 hkd per set. The starter was a zucchini tart which had a basil ice cream. The second dish was a salmon paired with melon and carrots. The main course was a chicken and played off the theme of Thanksgiving. The chicken was paired with stuffing which gave a homely feel to the dish. Lastly the dessert was a pear cake with a pear sorbet and cream. At the end of the meal you have choice of tea or coffee and a bag of sugar cookies to take home.

We knew we wanted pizza before she even handed us the menu. We chose a white Sauvignon Blanc which was cool and refreshing to sip on as we waited for our pizza. Surprisingly, it was quite quick! Out came a crispy, thin crusted, meat covered pizza which we gazed at and then dove into. A "small" sized pie was 6 slices. And from the photo, you can see it was "large"enough for the two of us! Sausage, bacon, pepperoni and ? It was so delicious! Fresh herbs, cheese and sauce...I think I want another one! While the service wasn't anything to rave about. On weekdays they have happy hour from 3-8pm where the Czech beer are 30% off. They do have other beers, like Corona, Peroni, Hoegaarden, but naturally I picked a Pilsner, as it's a style of lager invented by Czech, even though I admitted it's not favorite style. If beer is not your beverage they also have lots of other drinks, even mocktails. Our favorite dish is the bone marrow. It's a halved bone topped with succulent shreds of oxtail and fried onion. There are some bread for us to scope the tofu-soft marrow and oxtail on, and every bite is rich and delicious. The duck leg is another winner, not too dry, and comes with some sauerkaut. For pork knuckle, I've only tried the German version in the past. This one is fried, with a crispy skin redolent of Chinese BBQ siu yuk. It's a huge portion. The mustard that comes with it is a little bland though. We also get some pierogi, which is a European dumpling filled with potato. I find the pierogi here a it on the dry side. Others I've tried usually have some cheese inside, to give it a moister and smoother texture. I'd also like more sour cream on top, it would have helped with the dryness. Overall, it's interesting to explore a new cuisine.

During our trip to Hong Kong last year, my husband and I had discovered Caprice, and totally fell…read morein love with this 3-Michelin-starred French restaurant, which is located on the 6th floor of Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong.  When we visited Hong Kong again this year, we invited my beloved former high school teacher to join us for dinner or lunch at Caprice.  My teacher and I have a very good relationship for decades and she has been very generous to me.  I always wanted a chance to treat her with a superb meal, and this was an excellent chance. My teacher is an elderly and preferred to have lunch for dining out instead.  I was thrilled that both she and our daughter were able to dine with us, and met each other. The 4 of us had a very wonderful gathering for over 2 hours at Caprice.  It ended up everybody was impressed with the lunch, and my daughter and my teacher truly admired each other! My teacher had been a principal at another high school, and is a foodie.  Seeing her enjoying and praising each and every course just made me so happy.  Since we planned this lunch ahead of time, we made a reservation even when we were still in the US.  This time around we were able to get a table by the big windows overlooking Victoria Harbor.  My teacher praised how beautiful the view was throughout the lunch! Since no one at our table wanted alcohol for lunch, our server recommended to us a bottle of ANICCA Sparkling Tea - Peach, Bergamot, Earl Grey (HK$700/ US$90), that was refreshing and very good.  Caprice offers prix-fixe menus only: four or five courses at lunch, and two seven-course options for dinner. The four-course lunch (fish or meat) is priced at HK$1,288 (US$166), while the five-course (fish + meat) is HK$1,338 (US$173). With optional add-ons, however, the final cost can increase quite a bit. Last time both my husband and I went for the five-course menu, but we were so full by the end that we had learnt our capacity, so this time we opted for four courses instead.  My teacher let me make all the food selections for her.  So, I avoided all the options that would have allergens for her, and I ordered the exact same choices so that I knew what my guest was eating.  Actually, any dishes at Caprice would be delicious and cooked to perfection with the freshest ingredients, presented beautifully and sometimes with innovations and nice surprises.    For four adults, our 4-course Menu du Déjeuner (HK$1,288/ US$166 each) were as follow: Appetizer: 2 x Haddock Panna Cotta with Cold Potato, Daikon and Pike Caviar from "La Maison Petrossian" 2 x : Alaskan King Crab - Crustacean Jelly, Gillardean Oyster and Osciètre Prestige Caviar from "La Maison Kaviari" (Supplement HK$650/ US$84 each) Soup: 3 x Foie Gras Dumpling with Duck Consommé 1 x My Hot and Cold Onion Soup Fish: 3 x Daily Wild Caught Fish, Snails and Razor Clams Cannelloni, Emerald Sauce 1 x Brittany Blue Lobster, Beetroot and Chocolate with Ruby Sauce (Supplement HK$650/ US$84) Dessert: 3 x Seasonal Soufflé (Supplement HK$150/ US$19) 1 x Chestnut Tart and Chantilly with Blue Vanilla Coffee or Tea Caprice was able to change some of the items on their menu from last year, just to keep some of their signature dishes.  I have to mention that bread service was truly excellent, and there was a complimentary starter to kick off the phenomenal meal, and there were complimentary mignardises at the end that we were too full to enjoy but were happy to take them home in their beautiful takeout boxes. The bill came up to HK$9193/ US$1,186.  We felt that it's worth every penny of it.  It made me happy that everyone truly enjoyed this luxurious yet relaxed lunch. The opulence of the décor, the panoramic view of Victoria Harbor, the outstanding food and drinks, the impeccable service by the whole team of friendly, attentive, kind, and professional staff, all contributed to a top notch 3 Michelin Star meal that is so memorable and hard to beat.

French duck, Brittany blue lobster cooked in lobster butter, scallops n couscous n caviar, foie gras ravioli in duck consommé, Alaskan king crab with crustacean jelly and Gillardeau oysters plus a crazy good Cheese platter. Hey could not skip dessert with the personalized chocolates, the piedmont hazelnut soufflé with coffee ice cream, coffee as in beautiful and gorgeous strong coffee with petit fours. I was mesmerized by the description of each item and the outstanding presentation. Each dish was better than the other. The scallops were my favorite. How could I forget about the bread basket? Second favorite part of the meal. The crunchy baguette and flaky wasabi sesame pastry with the salted butter were a match made in Hong Kong heaven. We had a blast. We had the charcuterie board and oysters for the appetizers. The cold cuts were nice and thin packed with flavor and not too salty. The tomato bread that it was paired with was really simple and delicious. I also really enjoyed the oysters. The best part of the meal was the tapas portion. They do their own version of migas where instead of chunks of potato they use crispy potato strips and replace the poached egg with an onsen egg. This disease really good and I would definitely order this again. My favorite part of the meal was the ham and truffle sandwich. I'm a sucker for black truffle and the truffle really shines through here. The cheese was melted nicely and the bread was nicely toasted. This hits all the notes I look for in a sandwich. The fried white bait was also good. Of the tapas this was my least favorite but it was still tasty. These little fried fishes paired really nicely with the aioli and would be a nice complement to a beer or alcoholic beverage. The mains were ok and not as good as the tapas. We had the sea bass and the pork. Of the two the sea bass was better. It had a nice crispy skin and the dill and onions paired nicely. The sauce it came with I didn't like too much. Next time I think I will pay the extra 40 hkd to upgrade to the beef. We had the lemon parfait and the churros for dessert and both were pretty good but not great. I was a bit disappointed with the churros. They didn't come out hot and weren't as crispy as I would like. The chocolate sauce it came with was good and helped make up for the churro. The lemon parfait was different from what I expected. It was more like a lemon cake. It was nice and tart and the cookie crumbs it came with gave a nice sweetness and crunch to contrast the texture of the parfait. All in all I would definitely come back. At a minimum for happy hour to have some tapas and cocktails.

I can say that FoFo's rooftop bar is solidly...middling. The happy hour deals were middling: 30% off house wine, beer, and sangria. I tried several reds before settling instead on a glass of prosecco which better fit the warm air. The reds were fine but nothing special. The prosecco was nice; dry and light. My buddy had the red sangria, which tasted like sweet fruit punch, almost like an Xmas drink. The views were middling: from Lan Kwai Fong sweeping east across Central and Admiralty into the hills above the Zoological and Botanical Gardens. No stunning harbour views or dizzying heights, but totally enjoyable nonetheless. Perhaps improved by the surrounding office windows which become fishbowls for observation at a certain evening hour. The atmosphere was superb! Just kidding. It too was middling. There was a nice breeze blowing across the roof, but the decor was strange - it was very dark and there were little orb lamps that just hadn't been turned on. The tables and chairs seemed to be lacking something, whether they just needed a good wipe down or their matching cushions were gone. And the whole place gave off the air of being a bit forgotten and empty, parts of the bar covered in plastic wrap and only one lonely server inattentively serving because his phone was more interesting than the clientele.
