Mike inspected a home built in 1972 for me in June. He was thorough and explained my options on various deficiencies, some of which were due to building standards having been different when the house was built (e.g., less vents in roof and soffits so more moisture in the attic). He explains things in terms I can understand and is willing to answer questions during the inspection as well as afterward. His detailed report arrived later that day. I've had 3 homes at least inspected by Mike and he always provides solid work. I will definitely use him again! read more

HIGHLY recommend! I'm a new homeowner and learned a lot from him. He is thorough, answered all of my questions, and described a few different ways I could address each of the identified issues. I left the inspection feeling like I had a solid understanding of the overall condition of my house. His report, which was ready at the end of the day, was wonderfully detailed, incl. descriptions and pictures of damage/issues/readings, going room by room, then summarizing the "marginal" and "defective" items at the end of the report. And if you still have questions, he will answer your email or call if it is time-sensitive. I'd work with him again and will send friends & family to him. I recommend Mike; he is thorough, personable, and professional. read more

We used MK home inspections to inspect a property we were interested in. Mike was a seasoned professional with a construction background that was very useful in gauging damage and quality of the structure. I was impressed of his ability to go above and beyond. Although it was wet from the rain he still brought his ladder and got on the roof that was 4 stories. From afar the roof had some moss showing which could mean a huge expense pending on how bad the damage was, however, from his inspection on the roof he was able to determine some annual maintenance would be sufficient. His pricing was very fair. He explained the issues and what it would take to repair. Provided some DIY guidance and general estimates on costs. He also provided a detailed analysis of the inspection in less than 4 hours. The inspection only took 2 hours and we went from the roof all the way to the foundation of the garage. Thanks Mike for your thoroughness and professionalism. I definitely recommend MK to help you make an educated decision on the home you are looking to buy. read more

Mike performed two home inspections for us very recently. Mike is very informative and very knowledgeable about construction standards especially within the years that the homes were built. He is extremely thorough and took his time when inspecting the home(s). The first home he inspected for us revealed enough information to not move forward with the purchase. The 2nd home he inspected revealed very little in regards to issues and we were able to move forward with the purchase. To us he is like the "Mike Holmes" of Washington and very trustworthy! We will use his services again should we need it and would hands down recommend him to anyone. Thank you Mike!!!! read more

I am a first time home buyer and how no idea what I was getting myself into at first when it comes to inspections! Mike has done three inspections for me and each time has been very detailed and made sure I fully understood everything! My realtor and I joke that we are becoming inspectors now because of how well he goes through things! He has gone above and beyond in my opinion on making sure I understand everything before I make the decision to buy or not. Thanks mike for being there through 3house inspections so far! read more

As a first time home buyer, my husband and I have been very hesitant during the whole process. Our realtor recommended Mike with MK Inspections to be our home inspector. We called him late one evening and was able to schedule immediately a time and date! I was blown away with how quickly he was able to come out! When we arrived, he was already there and on the ball. He didn't mind at all that my husband and I were following his every move and asking a ton of questions. Never once did Mike refuse to answer a question or seem annoyed. He's the most professional, courteous, and respectful person! He answered AND explained every single question we had during the inspection. The whole process took about two hours and he inspected everything from the roof to the crawlspace and foundation of the home! Within the SAME DAY he emailed a very detailed report with photos to go along with it. I don't think I could ever find enough words to describe how wonderful this entire experience with Mike has been. He even extended his hand after the inspection to let us know that if we need anything or have any questions, not to hesitate to contact him. I'm extremely confident with his work and his background just makes me trust his analysis even more. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Mike to anyone I know that is looking for an inspection! read more

Our realtor recommended Mike at MK Home Inspections to do a home inspection on a house we were considering buying. Mike did a very thorough and complete inspection of the house inside, outside, underneath in the crawl space, and above in the attic. He stayed after the inspection to point out and explain the general problems he had found with the house and to answer our related questions about what he had found to be a concern. He also pointed out the many plus features of the house so that we did not feel overwhelmed by what needed to be fixed. Mike emailed us a very detailed inspection report with numerous photographs of the problem areas the evening of the inspection. Considering that the report was 37 pages long and included a very comprehensive 12 page summary we were quite impressed to have the report in hand so quickly. After reading over the report we had several questions that we emailed to Mike over the next few days and each time Mike had answers to us almost immediately. We proceeded to make an offer on the house that was based on the sellers completing some of the fixes that were needed. After seller completion of the designated repairs we had Mike out to do a follow-up inspection (for a very minimal charge) and he found items that the seller claimed were fixed but in actuality had been missed entirely. We were able to update our offer to ensure that the repairs were done to our satisfaction based on Mike's additional information. We went on to purchase the house thanks largely to Mike's informative report and his reassurances about the quality of the home with suggested repairs. Mike is not only very professional and knowledgeable about homes, he is also quick to schedule an inspection, on time, and very helpful about answering all questions sent his way. Mike is also a very friendly, high energy, and personable individual who we were delighted to work with. We highly recommend Mike and his company MK Home Inspections to both buyers and sellers for any home inspection needs that they may have. read more

Mike with MKhomeinspections recently preformed a pre-inspection on a home for us in the Seattle area. He far exceeded my expectations, was very professional and arrived on time. Mike spent four hours carefully examining the house, providing me insight and educating me about every system and structure in the home. Not only did he document every minor issue that should be addressed, he also advised a good way to go about fixing it or provided a resource who could help with the fix. Mike provided a typed report with numerous photos within hours after leaving the property. I would highly recommend Mike with MKhomeinspections to anyone looking for a professional, thorough and detailed house inspection. read more

I can't say enough about MK inspection services. We were first time home buyers looking for a home in one of the most competitive markets in the country. Having done 4 inspections on different homes before finding the right one Mike was very thorough in his inspection, detailing the condition & potential costs involved in buying each house. He was very generous in describing the work that needed to be done or the overall mechanics of each issue. We found ourselves needing to waive inspections to be competitive and doing pre-inspections with Mike gave us the confidence to either move forward with making an offer or let us know that we would have been in over our heads. We also got a full and very detailed report that we can now use as a to-do list for repairs or general maintenance that we should be doing on our home. In short, he is very thorough, is detailed and he really cares. We are happy to recommend him to everyone we know. read more

Very professional. Very in depth. Answered questions and he was friendly. The report helped us make important financial decisions. We saved money and we sold our house. Additionally, a house we wanted to buy would have cost us $$$$ if he had not done such an excellent job. Its a sellers market and we were anxious to buy. Thankfully we found a different home and we will be moving soon. Thank you for your commitment to excellence. 5 stars!!!!! read more
