We did the hour tour but wish we had done the 90min one. It was soooooooo much fun and relaxing. Kanaloa Tiki provides a captain at no additional fee. The bathroom onboard is small and a few people in our group did use it. Besides the fact that it is such a fun boat with its decorations/theme, the best thing about this boat is seating that is shaded and seating that isn't. It was nice to switch between the two. The boat comes equipped with Bluetooth so you can play your own music. Two hours down the Milwaukee river goes fast! We went all the down to Jones Island and then back to our docking location. There were about 8 of us on the boat and we had plenty of room. We also appreciated the cooler and ice provided by Kanaloa Tiki. You can bring food onboard and there is a nice bar top to put food on. We definitely want to rent this boat again and make it an annual thing!

I have not been fully pleased with the other pontoon rental services in the area who seem to be discombobulated and over run when they're trying to get multiple parties on multiple pontoons at the same time. Once you arrive, you'll get instructions on boarding passes (they print), IDs are checked and a security check of your vehicle takes place. When it's time, you drive your vehicle onto the ferry and go upstairs to the cabin area. Once the ferry leaves, you'll be able to order food or (like I did) take a nap. Dress appropriately or at least bring a blanket. The ferry was clean and peaceful.

Our sail was very smooth but other months can get very rough which means they sometimes have to cancel because of the wind. Food prices aren't cheap. You're looking at 10 bucks for a sausage English muffin and they don't take cash. Overall the experience is pricey at 500 for two people plus a car. Otherwise five stars for everything else. Make sure to get there at least 45 minutes ahead of time if you have a car. They cram in the cars pretty tight and do a cursory bomb sweep but aren't checking if you brought some "gifts" from Michigan to share with others.

I took the North Point South walking tour, offered by Historic Milwaukee, on July 18 of this year…read more George, our tour guide, is very knowledgeable about the neighborhood. George is very soft spoken and difficult to hear, especially when some moron goes past, rapping pipes just to interrupt the group on the sidewalk. George made it an interactive tour, asking the group about Milwaukee history that was a part of North Point South, and he gladly took questions from the group. The North Point neighborhood became Milwaukee's "Gold Coast" after Grand Avenue began to lose its attraction to the well to do. The North Point neighborhood is on the National Register of Historic Places - twice. It is divided into two neighborhoods, North Point North and North Point South. Both have a boundary at the famous Water Tower, on the North Point from which the two neighborhoods are named as well as the hospital that has been there since before the subdivisions. The first subdivision was platted just south of North Avenue in 1854. An additional subdivision was platted north of North Avenue in 1855. Only two of the houses built in the 1850s remain. Little development of the area occurred because the neighborhood was just too far removed from the business district. Once Lake Park opened in 1892, development accelerated in both neighborhoods. The Historic Milwaukee tour began at the fountain next to the Water Tower. George took us along Terrace Avenue, south to Lafayette Place then north on Lake Drive, back to the fountain. George filled us in on the interesting homes, telling us about styles, architects, build dates and a virtual who's who of Milwaukee's society that resided in this grand neighborhood. Names like Pabst, Smith, Ott, Goodrich, Eschweiler and Clas were heard on the tour. Next on my list: the North Point North tour.

If you've lived in Milwaukee your whole life (or for a while), this gives you a whole new perspective of the city. We had unexpected fog roll in as we took off, to me it added a mysterious element to the flight, however if it had been more severe, we would have had to turn back. I did a helicopter tour a few years ago with a different service and if you're trying to decide between going by day or at night, I think the daytime experience is better as you can see more. But either way, it's hard to top an experience involving a helicopter!

This was our second Food & City Tour. Our first one was a Chicago bus food tour based on "The Bear"…read moreseries. We had a great experience at that tour, so we decided to try the Milwaukee food tour. This one was a walking lunch tour through the Brady Street neighborhood. Our tour guide, Britt, was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood. She provided some interesting facts along our walk. The restaurant stops provided delicious tastings from their menus. I appreciated that most of the stops provided individual servings allowing everyone to get their fare share of the food and for sanitary reasons. We did enjoy the tour and the walking distance felt doable. Britt made sure everyone was safe and got their food and beverages. My one suggestion would be to check the nearby festivities around the date you are planning to attend. Our tour date was the day after the Brady Street Festival and the street and sidewalks were filled with litter, empty liquor containers and some areas had broken glass on the walkways. Also, some areas that we walked through to get to the 1st meeting destination smelled like urine.

Our tour guide, Emily, was super sweet, very knowledgeable about the area, and brought such a fun, upbeat energy that made the whole tour exciting. We loved hearing all the fun facts about the buildings we passed and the eateries we visited, which added so much to the experience. As out-of-staters, we never would have thought to explore Brady Street on our own, so it was really cool to discover a whole new part of the city while eating amazing food. Highly recommend!
