She was so great at answering all of my initial questions, and understood our needs as first-time homebuyers. A few months later we had a chance to visit Milwaukee and meet Carissa in person. She understood that we did not have a destination yet but that Milwaukee was still a top contender and still took the time to go over how the process works, what the market is like in the area, and what to expect for the lending process. Over the next two years we kept in touch, signing up for MLS alerts along the way. When we found out in early 2025 that Milwaukee was a sure thing, she was one of the first people we told and that we were heading her way! I couldn't believe she still wanted to give us the time of day after all that time; I know several others that didn't! Carissa has been like a close confidant the whole way. From helping us find short term housing to coming along on closing day, I could not ask for more. Our approval process took longer than expected, and she was so patient and understanding of the whole ordeal. She kept us informed of what to expect and next steps to prepare for. When it came time to actually house-hunt, Carissa was super flexible with her and our schedule for looking at homes. She's so organized, thoughtful, and professional, but best of all she's so charismatic! We had provided a spreadsheet to her of the homes we were interested in and she secured showings for our top three all for one day. Carissa understood time was of the essence for us due to several outside factors, and made it all go so seamlessly. We knew we did not want to look at houses for weeks on end and had already been looking online and driving around a lot so we knew what to look for. That and the incredible insight Carissa has about the area made the entire process of starting over in a new place that much easier. She and I looked at the houses together and there were times I forgot she wasn't moving in with us haha. Carissa truly helps her clients picture the ins and outs of daily living in the homes and neighborhoods they visit. After doing the showings with Carissa she was able to easily schedule a revisit the next day so my spouse could also see it. The choice was easy and she helped us submit an offer that day! We had no idea what to expect for the homebuying process or what the timeline looked like; we'd only heard horror stories from friends and family and truly had begun to expect and plan for the worst. Carissa's communication in writing everything up with her and the lender, and guiding us through the contingencies, what to ask for, and what to be prepared for, was impeccable. We seriously could not have done it without her expertise and her support. She made us feel so capable and prepared despite us having no experience with this world. Not once did she make us feel like we were dummies or inept; I truly have learned so much because of her and have even more respect for what real estate agents do! She has continued to be there for our crazy questions and has made the transition into homeowners go so smoothly. Carissa came through for us, all the way to our closing day. Someone needed to hold our hands and tell us we were adults enough for this! After we completed the closing documents I asked her when she was moving in. I went to their office to talk to them and pick up all my extra keys and found out the adress they have on file is not theirs but a hair salons. Gino who has been the main contact told me he doesn't work there anymore. Jim Miller is nowhere to be found. Workers are unprofessional and doesn't follow through a single promise. Stay miles away from these people!

it's a long story (this is the biggest financial decision of your life) so let me start a few…read moremonths in. I was having a really hard time with the previous agent i hired in selling my house. In fact, I have tried to sell my house a few times before, without success. Somehow I got hooked up with Chris and Missy Buttrum and the rest is history. First thing Chris did was come thru the house and help me understand some things I might be doing wrong. Then he sent over a new photographer, a guy who really takes wonderful pictures. Chris e rewrote some things, made an adjustment here and there.....and within ONE week my house had 5 people coming thru, three of them making offers at the same time and bidding against each other. He actually got me multiple offers over my asking price. It didn't end there. Getting an accepted offer is one thing but then the real work starts with the inspections, more negotiating.... appraisals, more negotiating......small things here and there....more negotiating....and then keeping me calm and updated the entire way. like seriously, this is a guy who cares about every aspect of what he is doing and outworks anyone I have ever met. Some people feel like they have to go with the "big" companies, and I understand their ideas. what I will say though is Chris has more connections than most and because of how much he cares, you can bet that even at 1am he is working on the next lead. I am telling everyone I know that Chris and Missy Buttrum are the team you should hire for all of your real estate needs. Chris is magic....and sometimes a little magic is what you need in such a competitive market.

Alan Metz is all about getting you money. I had worked with one of those snake oil men in the past, got ripped off in my sale. Alan wont let any oppurtunity slip through your fingers. He is also great if you need a house on a budget, he can get you into that dream. There are none yet she's been in business for 35 yrs. She has an expired BBB certificate and won't use them anymore - and BBB states business is no longer. Quite a few red flags - do your research before consideration. Her tone changed once we addressed previous reviews and had questions - at first was very professional and kind, almost hired on that first meeting - so Just be aware.
