Now look I'm the first to admit, I'm not exactly out here breaking it down on the dance floor. I say it all the time: "I'm too old for this." And yet somehow, like clockwork, I keep ending up in places like this, drink in hand, wondering how I got here and more importantly, how long I can survive. We roll in, no real plan. Just one of those rainy Eugene nights where the air feels like trouble and bad decisions. Dinner? Solid. Drinks? Flowing like someone forgot to install brakes. We even ran into some friends, which always turns a simple night into a full-blown episode. And then... things got weird. In the best possible way. At some point, I look up and there are these gals glowing glowing painted in neon like a scene out of some underground rave documentary. Black lights hitting just right, bodies moving, maybe outfits, maybe not outfits... honestly, I couldn't tell you. And I'm standing there thinking, "Either this place is incredible... or whatever I just drank has officially taken the wheel." Probably both. The music? Off the hook. DJs knew exactly what they were doing pulling people in, keeping them there. The lights, the energy, the whole setup it delivers exactly what it promises. It's a full-send kind of place. Not pretending to be anything else. We were there maybe an hour... maybe two. Hard to say. Time doesn't exactly behave normally in a place like this. Now I'll be real this is probably a young person's playground. College town vibes, full throttle: a little bit of chaos, a little bit of freedom, a whole lot of "we'll deal with it tomorrow." But here's the thing... I had a damn good time. Even if I can't dance. Even if I don't quite belong. Even if I woke up the next day piecing together memories like a detective on a budget. Because for a few hours, it didn't matter. Shoutout to the staff friendly, on point, keeping things moving. The whole place runs like it knows exactly what it is and doesn't apologize for it. And honestly? Respect. So yeah maybe this isn't my everyday scene. But I'm glad I went. It was wild, it was funny, it was just disorienting enough to be unforgettable. We went up front with our selections and Jill explained to us that one of her coworkers was freaking out because (I forget the exact words) but what I gathered because she did not feel we were "real" Jill gave us her card and explained that we could call and see if she was working and she would gladly help us but she did not know how welcomed we would be there again and that she did not know the owners feelings on the subject. Overall the experience was (OKAY) but I am not sure if this was money well spent. Recommending that my friends and family NOT shop here.

The drive out from Portland is long, but after you get here the trip is really enjoyable, we often try to plan a night somewhere closer. It's 12$ for a 2 hour visit, they do take credit cards. We tend to be here mid week mid day so we have not had any issue with parking. There are always other people present, but it has never seemed overly busy. The staff we interact with are always very pleasant. There is a bathroom in the parking lot. It's a short walk up to the hot springs, I'm confident mostly anyone could do this. It's nice to feel like you are in nature. I imagine this was a much more beautiful area before the fires, but I am thankful that it did reopen and is usable. Do make sure you bring some water to stay hydrated while hot springing. Do be aware that sometimes people are unclothed at hot springs. Also know that hot springs are hot and this may not be how you want to spend a hot day. There are multiple pools of multiple sizes which do vary in heat. There is a small stream with cold water running nearby. There are places to sit where you can be partially in the water. If you are planning to walk around a lot you may want water shoes as these rocks can be hot on your feet. We always have a nice time and leave feeling rejuvenated. I keep meaning to look into camping options nearby. I'd love to experience this with some friends on my next visit.

I travel to this hot spring at least twice a year. It's a magical hidden gem I highly recommend…read morevisiting once in your life. If you have never been to a hot spring before, the first thing you will notice is the smell. It's not human poop or pee, hot springs release a gas called sulphur which smells like rotten eggs. You get used to the smell prettty quickly or you don't. Either way it's natural so don't worry. If you are not a hiker I wouldn't recommend this spot. The forest rangers usually keep the entrance of this place closed so be prepared to walk about 2 miles to the entrance of the hot spring. Once you get to the parking lot of the hot spring, you are going to have to hike up a pretty steep slope but don't worry, there are some make shift hand rails that will guide you to the spring. Please for the love of god don't forget towels, water and possibly a flashlight if you are going at night. Also clean up after yourself. Don't leave trash or wet clothes behind for someone else to pick up.

There are a couple of racquetball courts and a basketball hoop in one of the courts, as well. Additionally there is a ping pong table upstairs, along with a childcare play area. The clientele here is mostly older from what I've seen, and everyone has been friendly and accepting of one another. The staff is great, and payments for the gym are month-to-month. I haven't run into issues with equipment availability, and there are times especially during midday when I feel like I have the whole place to myself. I was referred to Amanda because her peers felt that her skills are extra highlighted when it comes to a family shoot. Family shoots come with the territory of little children, messes, crying, not happy campers and potentially having up to like 18 people in one group. My first phone conversation with Amanda made me feel like I have known her for years and that it was going to be just another normal shoot. Except no I have never met this fantastic lady and no she did not know what she was getting her self into when I asked if my extended family was okay to bring to our small family shoot. When we got to our location I was welcomed with a hug and huge smile like we were old friends meeting up for coffee. That is the experience and customer service you get with this photographer. She made our little boy laugh with her silly faces, jumps in the air and her conversation at eye level. Qualities that any mom would look for when realizing she just wants a few perfect pictures of their little one. We never once felt rushed, against the clock or that she wouldn't hear our ideas for pictures. Amanda was quick to getting our family albums back to us with constant communication of what her status was. Once I received our album, I saved about 180 of the images just on my phone because each one was PERFECTION!! I was so happy that I was referred to Amanda because I have found our family photographer for life and I can't wait for the next session!
