I am amazed with the consistency of their excellent communications and service. Prior to OneSeed, my husband and I were independent travelers; now, we are hooked on the services provided and their commitment to sustainability and giving back to the local communities. Not to forget, we LOVE their local guides. This trip started with the Mt. Kilimanjaro trek with 8 others that we met in Moshi. What a great 6-day adventure it was trekking the Marangu Route with our support staff of 20 - made up of guides, cooks, waiters, and porters. They were there to take care of our every need no matter the altitude. Next up was the 6-day Serengeti Safari. OneSeed arranged the perfect guide, Saleh, to introduce us to the wildlife in three national parks. And in the evenings, our tent camp lodging was comfy, food delicious, showers nice and hot, and perfectly located to enjoy the spectacular evening sunsets. During our safari we were introduced to the Big Five. Memorable moments - ostriches mating and a lion protecting his buffalo carcass (only 15 ft away). To cap off the best trip ever, we included the OneSeed extension to Zanzibar Island. White sands, blue Indian Ocean, ocean-front bungalow, fresh seafood, snorkeling, bike riding, and a romantic dinner for two on the beach. Not sure how OneSeed can top this one; however, based upon my experience, I bet they will.

Jean at BBT was able to help us get travel arranged but she was quite slow and used very "old school" methods. If you like smart phones, computers or even the simplest technology, go elsewhere. This was not cheap as well. We paid her over $500 and I will never do that again. I had my family member call her on my behalf after I had left to set up one last hotel for me, as she said to do ("at no extra charge", her words), and almost two months later they were billed $75 to book that hotel. Other family members used various travel agencies for this big trip abroad and spent between $90-$150, TOTAL. Honestly, go somewhere else, you'll be glad you did.

She responded to emails immediately, offered to help research various options and was a wonderful resource as we made different decisions about the trip. Lisa also initially helped us in planning our trip to Machu Picchu the next year but then somehow we ended up being transferred to Rick Ables. Rick didn't seem as "engaged" as Lisa had and so when we were ready to plan our Amawaterways cruise on the Nile River, I emailed Lisa to ask for help. I was told that Rick would handle the booking and even when I emailed again to ask for Lisa to help us, the response came from Rick. I have a completely different opinion about Amawaterways cruises in general and specifically about Nimble Travel. I would absolutely not use Rick again for a trip. Every request I had for assistance was met with some kind of excuse or complication (as an example, the website promised that we'd be assisted with transportation from the airport in Cairo to the hotel for the start of the cruise but since we're going a day early, Rick said we were on our own for transportation arrangements; similarly, supposedly Amawaterways would help with the Egyptian visa - oh, but not because we're going a day earlier. We emailed back and forth about an optional trip that wouldn't be available to book until June 8 and Rick was supposed to follow up to see if we were interested - I never heard from him again except to tell us when payment was due. I don't know if Lisa isn't working for Nimble any more but she was definitely a much better representative for them than Rick.

Unfortunately, my experience with the travel agent who organized the trip was very disappointing. At the beginning, communication was fine, but as we asked more detailed questions, her tone became increasingly impatient. In one email, she wrote, "Dana, let's try this again and let me explain this again to you," which I found unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. There were also some important communication issues. Our group of 14 was not informed about a $60-per-person port tax. We didn't learn about it until four or five days into the cruise when the cruise director announced it. The travel agent told us she was unaware of the charge, but I feel an experienced travel professional should make every effort to communicate additional costs to clients. More concerning was her behavior during the cruise. I personally witnessed her tell a member of our group to "fuck off" during an argument. The other woman was intoxicated and was yelling at her, so I understand that it was a difficult situation, but I still felt that response was inappropriate for someone acting as the travel professional for our group. I also personally witnessed her discussing members of our group with other people in the group, which I found unprofessional and uncomfortable. The London portion was also frustrating. My friend and I had planned London separately, but the travel agent decided to join us for part of the trip. She arranged a hotel breakfast without discussing whether we wanted it, booked a walking tour even though we had told her we preferred the Big Bus tour, and arranged a hotel garden tour that we had already indicated we weren't interested in. When we ultimately couldn't make the garden tour, her response was that it was "quite embarrassing" that we weren't attending. Those interactions made me feel that our preferences weren't really being heard or respected. What I found most disappointing was the lack of follow-up. Throughout the cruise, she never checked in with the group to ask how everyone was doing or whether there were any issues. Even after we returned home, there was no message asking whether everyone got home safely or how we felt about the trip. I want to emphasize that Croatia was beautiful and the cruise itself was an amazing experience. My disappointment is specifically with the travel-agent service. I expected professionalism, respectful communication, attention to the group's needs, and follow-through. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I would not use this travel agent again.
