Tracy with Arcadia ISR came highly recommended to me by several moms at the gym... I was debating…read moreputting my son in regular swim lessons, but ended up going this route and never looked back. When I researched the ISR method, I learned that drowning is the number one cause of accidental death for children under the age of four in Arizona. And while I know there is no substitute for constant supervision, ISR Self-Rescue lessons provide an extra layer of protection. My son loves the water... whenever he sees it, he wants to go in. It's beyond scary to think about if he somehow were to fall into a pool and an adult wasn't around to save him. If you really want the chills and reassurance that ISR works, check out the testimonial page here: http://www.arcadiaisr.com/testimonials.html The testimonials do not lie. Tracy is fabulous. While it's an investment of both time and money, it's so worth it. Just a few weeks in and my 22 month old son can float and swim to the side of the pool - it's pretty amazing! When Yelp allows us to post videos, I'll do so here... In the meantime, if you are looking at swim lessons / survival class for a child 6 months to 6 years old, I highly recommend ISR!

It's a waste of money and torture for your child. First they charge you a "Registration Fee"…read moreof over $ 100,- What service do they provide for that money ??? Total Nonsense and a ripoff. Then it's $ 80 a week for 10 minute classes. (cash. credit cards are only accepted for the registration fee) All what your child learns is to roll onto the back and float for a few seconds. After that it will drown if nobody comes to help. We have not seen one single child who enjoyed the classes, they all started to cry as soon as they saw the pool. Of course, their video only shows amazing pictures of babies under the water. The main purpose of these courses is to create revenue, the child will not learn to swim or to survive if it falls into an unattended pool. Even worse: It creates a false idea that the baby is safe around water. Take your child to real swimming lessons at the age of 4 years, that is the age recommended by pediatrics. The ISR course won't help your child to learn to swim faster - save your money.

My daughter has been a student here for a couple years and she has improved greatly! The location isn't too bad. The only downside is that parking can suck depending if there's an event happening at the community center. The staff at Leahi is amazing. Ashley, who works the front desk almost always and helps with registration is amazing. She's so personable and treats everyone like family! She and the pool staff made accommodations to help my daughter feel comfortable during her first lessons without a parent. The staff in the pool has been amazing and accommodating. Kiki - who graduated HS and is no longer working there, really helped my daughter with her confidence and really helped her literally every step of the way. Sage was so fun and very enthusiastic! Ashley (in the pool) also helped my daughter gain confidence when my daughter was really swimming on her own. Koa is awesome and really makes you feel so welcomed too! I also do commend the owners as well. I was at the pool one day when there was a troubled parent/grand parent asking why her student couldn't move up levels. Even though this customer was clearly frustrated and maybe a little angry with the owner, the owner explained why so calmly that the requirements aren't just there just cause - it's for safety too!! Open swim is always nice, usually Saturdays at 4pm. It does get crowded so either come super early or late!

Leahi Swim School is a MUST for all keiki for swimming lessons! These two factors alone is what my son was able to achieve. Located in a quiet pearl city community behind their community center, you'll find leahi swim. A very clean pool deck area and pool. The staff here is always welcoming and are known as Aunties and Uncle's to the kids. The kids here can start off below 3 years old but if they are they must attend the class with the parent. 3+ may attend classes that fits their swim level and skills. When I enrolled my son he was at the level of not being able to put his head under water on his own and he absolutely hated splashes. He just could never get his face wet! So he started beginner I. After a little over a year and about 6 seasons, he's now able to go underwear ingredients voluntarily and swim across the pool! Can never forget his "Pizzas, Tummy, Slice", "Ice Creams", and Foggy Legs techniques plus more. He got to the level we wanted him to finally reach and I can't thank the staff here enough with helping brayden get to the level he is at now (Advanced Beginner II). With all the familiar faces, they still greet Brayden even when he's not in his classes. You'll even see co owner Ben jump into the water and teach a class or two when there's not enough instructors for the day. At the end of each season on the last day it's also "Medal Day!" When kiddos complete their season, they get a medal! Including the babies. A tip for this school, it may be very hard to get enrolled for your first class and may be on a wait list. However once you're enrolled, you get early registration before public for each season going forward. They have an online system with their high volumes of enrollment as well that you'll learn as you do and they provide a flyer every season as well to follow along.

He catered his lesson to their own individual skill and comfort level in the water so they didn't feel scared or intimidated at all. He has coached both of our daughters -- now 4 and 7 -- and the transformation has been remarkable. Both girls started with a real fear of the water, and Brandon had such a natural, thoughtful way of gently pushing them forward at just the right pace. He always seemed to know exactly what each of them needed to build confidence without feeling overwhelmed. Thanks to Brandon, both girls are now water safe, have learned to swim, and continue to improve their strokes every year. But what really sets him apart is that he makes every single lesson genuinely fun. These are kids on vacation -- there are a million other things competing for their attention -- and yet they look forward to their lessons with him every time. That truly says it all. If you are looking for a swim instructor who is skilled, patient, creative, and just wonderful with kids, Brandon is your person. We feel so lucky to have found him and cannot imagine our trips to Hawaii without him!
