The technician had immediately told me it was the battery that overheated and caused the home button to move. Replaced the battery and reset the home button in the housing in less than 10 minutes for the same price they quoted the button repair. Very happy. Only downside is parking is hard to find close by and their English/French is hard to understand. But they understood me and got their point across very professionally. KSK is really the best computer repair experience I've had in 35 years. Extremely easy to work with and super knowledgeable. I even got pick up and delivery. Magic! BestBuy and most others quoted me 3-4 weeks to replace a power supply at nearly the cost of a new machine. I called 10 places and got the Quebec run-around (arrogant, frustrating attitudes, maybe we can fix it maybe not!) - calls that inspired zero confidence. I got KSK on the phone and there was a can-do tone of expertise and when I argued with him ( I was wrong ), he was patient and heard me out. He also made some recommendations about upgrades that would boost performance - but didn't push or up sell - he was just being thorough. Sadly the other components of my system would not fit well with the motherboards that could easily be acquired in a timely manner. I was looking at a repair that would take possibly weeks, this for a critically important computer. KSK instead replaced the bios chip on the motherboard. And it cost me a lot less than it would have cost to replace the motherboard! Good luck finding a tech who can and would do that at most other places. Not only that, but both times I have called him with a downed system, he has picked it up within hours, and delivered it fully functional either the same day or the next! Do expect to pay a couple hundred for the job, or more if it requires replacing hardware, etc., but he is definitely worth it, especially with pickup and delivery, and I expect likely not more expensive than most other places that won't give you anywhere near the same level of service.

If I'd listened to other people's advice, I would have bought a new tv over 10 years ago, I would have replaced my digital thermometer, bought a new coffee maker etc., got a new turntable. With regards to my turntable that is about 40 years old, I asked him if I would be better off buying one of those that he had on display, and he told me that mine was better, explained what features made it better, and that he would call be with an estimate. He did so the next day, and the repair was very inexpensive. If you want your items to last as long as possible, and not create more junk for the trash piles of the planet, getting things fixed is definitely better. He'll tell you if it's not worth repairing, and the estimate is free (in my experience).
