I cannot say enough good things about MJ Kidz! My daughter has been a client for over a year, and each person that we've met and interacted with on the team has been warm, friendly, and incredibly kind. The front desk/reception staff are exceptional, especially Joanna. Throughout the pandemic (including when it first started), I had no idea if/when she was working remotely... and I mean that in the best way possible! It has always been the same great experience, no matter the circumstances. She is always pleasant, professional, and helpful every single time I have had to call the office. And then there is Miss Jodi. It's hard to find the words to adequately describe what an amazing speech therapist she is. In fact, calling her a speech therapist doesn't really feel like it covers it. She has a broad range of professional experience, which I won't get into, but trust me you'll quickly feel and appreciate her wealth of knowledge. She fully "sees" each child, and tailors her speech approach to best suit the needs of that child. Her approach with my child has continuously evolved to help make sure she is optimizing her potential. My daughter has come so far and continues to soar with her. But I also think a lot of what makes Miss Jodi so special is my interaction with her as a parent. I trust her perspective, because I know that she sees and understands my child. Of course as her mom, I do as well, but there are times when I am looking for a professional perspective specific to my child. From someone that understands not only their profession, but also my overall child. Miss Jodi is the first person that I reach out to. She has given me so much insight and so many things to try, to help supplement my child's learning and development. I don't know if I can ever sufficiently thank her. I feel knowledgeable and empowered as a parent. I KNOW that I understand my child better, how she thinks and learns, and that is in large part because of Miss Jodi. And while we have pretty much exclusively worked with Miss Jodi, I have no doubt that the rest of the MJ Kidz therapists are wonderful too. My daughter has complete and permmanet hearing loss in her left ear and slight hearing loss in her right ear. In addition, she has significant challeges and deficits with her language skills. Miss Jodi at MJ Kids has been so amazing, patient, and on target with what her needs are how to address them with her. Miss Jodi truly sees the whole of what my child needs and this is so very important. In addition my daughter LOVES working with Miss Jodi and looks forward to all of her sessions with her. She works so hard for Miss Jodi because she is so motivated by how she is being taught. The feedback that Miss Jodi gives to us after every session is beyond invaluable and is significantly helpful to us in knowing how to further our daughter's progress at home. We are lucky enough to live in an area with fantastic resources. However, this can also make it difficult at times to find the BEST of the best for your child. I was given a list of names of "excellent" speech pathologists in the area from a practitioner who was a retired SLP. I asked her who she would bring her child to, and she instantly said, Jodi Schechtman and Melissa Graham and their team at MJ Kidz. I am so grateful that I listened. We have seen amazing progress since starting speech therapy at MJ Kidz 7 months ago. The office environment is warm and welcoming, and the sessions are "work" disguised as fun! My child loves going and often asks "are we going to Miss Jodi today?". I highly recommend MJ Kidz to anyone looking for positive results. read more

I was referred to MJ Kidz for their picky eaters camp/group sessions. My 4 year old has been struggling with eating more than 3 food options and taking an excessive amount of of time to finish the foods he will actually consume. In addition he refuses to eating any vegetables and certain textures. Upon requesting information on session, I was promptly contacted by office staff and the treating therapist that specializes in "feeding." They asked me intake questions to help tailor the program to my child's needs and schedule. We will be starting in June and I can't wait to see the progress he will make. We are so grateful to Jodi and Melissa and all they have done for our son. They are undoubtedly the best in the business. And it's not just speech they're great at - but teaching parents (and even the child's teachers) how to deal with the negative behavior and anxiety that may accompany that particular communication disorder. Our son is 5 yrs old with ASD and aprexia. We are new to the state of NJ and have been with MJ KIDZ for about 5 months.He has been in private speech since he was 2 yrs old and never thought to know what his sweet voice would sound like. Through dedication, patients, and knowledge of their feild they have giving him a voice. I now know what truly fantastic speech therapists are! I have sat through countless speech therapy sessions (agencies/practices) in the past with my preschool granddaughter, and never felt like she was getting what she really needed, UNTIL I found MJ Kidz. The therapists at MJ Kidz keep my three year old granddaughter actively engaged in a fun environment, and she has made huge strides with her language. My son has been receiving therapy services here for about 3 years. He loves going and we see so much progress. He is diagosed with autism and apraxia, so speech is difficult to say the least, but we can have a conversation now and that is huge! I always refer to MJ Kidz. read more
