I love hibatchi and today the more I thought about it the more I craved it. Lol..I ordered filter and shrimp. It comes with zucchini onions and mushrooms and rice and broccoli. The steak was cooked perfectly just how I like it.. it was a bit salty for my taste but it was good. The rice seemed bland but all the rest was good. I love watching them cook it on flat top behind the counter. The staff keeps counters and store pretty clean between customers. But now the food is mediocre at best, the chicken is always dry, portions have gotten much smaller, and the service still needs work. The hubby and I were dying for some hibachi but didn't have time to sit down at one of the fancy hibachi places where they cook right in front of you, so we decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Chicken Hibachi takeout and some shrimp tempura sushi, the man ordered Steak Hibachi & spicy tuna sushi. We were both disappointed with the quality of the meat as it was super dry on both our entrees, but the seasoning and flavor of it was pretty good. The onion & zucchini mix was delicious, other than it would've been better if they hadn't given us both so many slivers of the zucchini skin. Not really sure how we ended up with so much burnt skin and less of the zucchini flesh? The rice was flavored well but hey it's rice so it's hard to have bad rice lol. The shrimp tempura was flavorless so I only ate 2 pieces dowsed in soy sauce, I honestly was expecting the brown sauce that most places serve with their tempura but it was not included. The spicy tuna sushi was inedible. As the sriracha wasn't mixed into the tuna and was just dabbed on top it was gross. The yum yum sauce was perfect tho! Maybe next time I'll just order vegetable hibachi and hope there will be less zucchini skin and more actual zucchini in the veggies. read more

SEND THE HEALTH INSPECTOR. The owner of this place should be ashamed. It has been 7 years since I have been here. My family and I loved this place and I couldn't wait to eat here again. The storefront is dull and dingy. I couldn't tell if the place was open. I had to peak inside. It was open. I went in. There were maybe 4 people sitting at tables and a couple people ordering in line. I ordered the filet minon and fish with a soda. I paid, got my soda, and sat down. More and more people came in and ordered, got their food before me, and ate/left. At the 20 minute mark, i went to ask about my order. Nobody could really speak english but the lady at the counter got her point across that the fish was still being cooked. I could see the fish on the grill. I stood there thinking it would be done soon. About 5 more minutes passed and then the cook we t to the fridge and brought out a bunch of raw chicken and started putting down within inches of my cooked fish. He then started using the spatula to organize the chicken. Afterwards, he picked up my fish filet with the SAME spatula and started carrying it to my to go box. I spoke out loudly to the point that everybody in the place heard me. I said, " Hold up. You just cross contaminated my cooked fish with raw chicken and that spatula". The cook looked at me and asked if it was my fish and I said yes. I told him and the register lady that i didn't want it and I wanted a refund. The cook went into the back and put another fish filet on the grill. The register lady started the refund and then told me that he is cooking me a other filet. I said I didn't want it and that i was already 30 minutes for the first one. She voided my transaction (see picture). I won't be back. 1) The owner/manager needs to train their staff on proper food handling techniques and foodborne pathogens. The could seriously make somebody sick and or kill/them. 2) The owner/manager need to reinvest money into the appearance inside/outside. The walls are filthy from where people wait for their food. Paint on ledges is chipoed everywhere. Tables needed to be bussed I'm sooooooo happy that I didn't tip when ordering and prior receiving my order. I didn't get an apology whatsoever. Use to love this place and would go around 3 times a week. Made the drive 30 mins into town tonight just to go here for dinner. Service was fine. I'm not sure what happened with the cook or if the quality here just tanked. My teriyaki chicken bowl was so disgusting I took 2 bites and left it to be thrown away. All of the chicken was so fatty there was almost no meat and the few pieces that weren't all fat were dark gamey tasting nasty meat. Even the rice was awful which is hard to mess up, I've never seen fried rice be white and covered in black pepper in my life. The restaurant was filthy, trays of food laying everywhere and trash stacked anywhere people could sit it where nobody was picking up the dining room. I have there fish dinner it good at lunch or dinner. They make it with onions and zucchini, but I always request to get rid of the onions and add some mushrooms. The place is always clean. The service is excellent. I take it home to enjoy at my leisure eating there for a while now since they opened up and I can tell you that it is terrific. A must try. They have many dishes. Absolutely a hole in the wall, fast service and better food. It's next to a recruiting station so minus 1 point HAHA. But other than that, it's a great spot for quick bite and to-go. Disappointing. I used to tell everyone this I the BEST hibachi in town. I can no longer say that. It lacks the hibachi flavor believe it or not. No amount of shrimp sauce can make up for it. Ordered Sushi to go as we were in a hurry and no time to sit down. As soon as I opened the bag at home, I smelled fish. EVERYTHING WAS WARM - NOTHING HAD BEEN CHILLED. This is 5 minutes from my house so it's not like it was sitting in my car. When I went in to pick it up, the bag was tied up, which I don't like, but as I said, we were in a hurry. They get really busy for dinner. So keep that in mind when you come because the line got long and the wait kinda took a bit. Any who, once you walk in, you walk along the wall (line) and order at the register. The lady was a little impatient with my husband and I when we were looking at the menu and trying to figure out what we wanted. Didn't like that. But we ordered steak and shrimp hibachi and a sushi roll. They give you a number and you find a table. In the mean time, they have a little sauce bar by the soda fountain where they have yum yum sauce, teriyaki sauce, hot chili sauce, and hot mustard. **yum yum sauce is yummy!!!!** they will shout out your number for you to come pick up your food. If they don't have everything for you, then keep your ears open to come back for the second item. Steak and shrimp hibachi -- looks like your normal hibachi. It was good! The sauces made it better, which is pretty normal. Haha. For the price, it's decent. Cost a bit, but you get a lot of food!! Sushi -- I would not get again. Didn't like the quality of it. I appreciate Miyabi for what it is. I don't have to wait for a bunch of strangers to be seated to eat. I can order and 'the chefs' may even do some knife play if they're not to busy. Even without the volcano onion or knife flips I'm content. If I only want veggies I can have them at a reduced price. This doesn't happen everywhere here in Jacksonville. Ate their over the weekend, subpar tasting. This place seems to be losing it bc we've been coming here for years. The score for sanitation was a "B" and the steak with steak and shrimp combo plate was over cooked and chewy. The shrimp tasted of water as if was boiled then warmed up on grill. There were no cups available at the sauce station and had to get them at the counter. Staff was notified of no cups being available to customers and showed very little concern to look and provide cups. Customers continued to go to the cashiers to get cups after they realized there were none. I hope this place steps up their game back to the old days when they opened with good food. I have been eating at this resturant since they opened. I went in to order tonight, my wife ordered the hibachi chicken entrée and I ordered the hibachi steak entrée. I was extremely disappointed when I got home to find both meats and the rice seem to have been sitting in hot pans for a very long time. The steak was over cooked and very tough, gave it to my dog. Guess the lesson here for me is, do not go in-between meal times as they just warehouse what is leftover from the lunch rush. read more

Wow! This place is the best! I wish I had one near me. We were passing through and stopped for lunch. We hit the jackpot! This pace is so reasonably priced and the food is super delicious. We are vegan so we had just the Hibachi veggies and rice. It is so flavorful. I felt like I was eating dinner at a full service hibachi restaurant. You can get fried rice or steamed rice. There is teriyaki sauce available to take on your own to add to your meal as well as other sauces. You get a ton! Definitely enough for two meals. Lots of veggies - broccoli, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, carrots. Delish! This place is the opposite of the Quickway Japanese Hibachi where we stopped at for lunch off of 95 in Fredericksburg, VA. (See my review for that place) If I ever pass by another Miyabi, or they finally come to virginia, I will come here again and again. Really really reasonably priced too! read more

Normally Miabis is one our favorite take out restaurants. We ordered 2 Hibachi chicken bowls, 2 teriyaki chicken bowls, 1 steak and chicken entree, and 3 fried cheese cakes. Spent over $60. The entree was wrong (shrimp) and the teriyaki chicken was very fatty and my son found a bone. We were very disappointed and may consider ordering Chinese take out next time. I took a few of my friends to this restaurant... and have been a Customer for quite some time. Since Miyabi's grand opening, I've seen a huge decline in their QUALITY AND QUANTITY. You definitely DO NOT get what you pay for anymore. I hate the fact that Miyabi Jr. doesn't care about its customers. They DEFINITELY DO NOT check/wipe their tables/walls. The seating area is ALWAYS in disarray and everything DESPERATELY NEEDS to be wiped down. The customers end up having to police their own tables and the trash sits wide, opened and is always full. They used to have the sauces available but now you have to stand in line again just to get the sauces you WANT. Their sanitation rating has declined to a B now. It also takes a LONG while for the order to be prepared. The line was very long and our orders were not prepared correctly. I ordered the filet mignon and chicken plate. I couldn't have rice so I opted for the veggies. The portions for $80 worth of food was sadly lacking... and I also didn't get my filet mignon. The steak I received was very tough and I got about a 1/4 cup of steak and a 1/4 cup of chicken and then dropped 1 & 1/2 cups of chopped veggies to fill up the container. The love and quality/quantity in the preparation of food (since its grand opening) is gone and it is more like an assembly line now (just get the food containers/orders together and out) They give less meat and more vegetables/rice. I don't think I'll be coming back. I rather go to Golden Corral. At least I can get my moneys worth of steak/chicken from there. read more

They have stopped delivering through The 3rd party companies such as Door Dash. It's ashamed cause this was my favorite place to order for delivery. Disabled here so it's tough to run out at night and even pick it up. We always ordered the Hibachi meals, Chicken and Shrimp mostly. Never had any disappointment with anything we ever ordered. Hope they start working with one of the delivery services again. I miss them and will keep looking when I order for delivery. read more
