I'm a little perplexed by the negative reviews here, though I have not ordered online. The store's address on Yelp needs to be updated to 446 Weaverville Rd. There's a brewery next door which can make for a nice outing in the Asheville area. I chatted with Kim briefly and she was very friendly and welcoming. The prices are reasonable for an in-person shopping experience and there were sales offered on some popular finishing items and specific designers. The staff is vivacious and warm and make you feel right at home the minute you enter. There was a ferocious guard dog who slept through our visit and occasionally opened an eye to see who might have slipped in during his slumber. No threat at all. The only reason I only gave four stars is because I didn't actually make a purchase and wasn't actively looking for anything in particular. Weaverville is a long way from my stomping grounds but if I'm ever in the area again, I will make sure I allot enough time to check in and browse.

Lastly, they pass the credit card fee onto the customer, but don't offer an atm when they require cash. It is absurd to me that I am expected to pay to pay. This should be a cost of business and not an additional fee to shop at your business. Will not be back.

Rachel Smith opened the studio in 2015 and collaborates with 6-8 pottery artists creating anything from dishes to ornaments to vases and more. Her husband, Dana Smith also sells his custom writing instruments and kitchen utensils here. Besides the expected wooden inlay pens, he uses unique materials like pasta and oats, which are worth checking out. I always find something I like here, and prices are reasonable. It's also a great spot to pick up a gift. Hours are typically around 10-3 M-Sat but do vary.
