Reems Creek Pottery is a working studio where the artists also sell what they make on-site. I…read morelearned about it through an artist (IyaBlu' Inc) that was attending a downtown Asheville pottery festival. Rachel Smith opened the studio in 2015 and collaborates with 6-8 pottery artists creating anything from dishes to ornaments to vases and more. Her husband, Dana Smith also sells his custom writing instruments and kitchen utensils here. Besides the expected wooden inlay pens, he uses unique materials like pasta and oats, which are worth checking out. I always find something I like here, and prices are reasonable. It's also a great spot to pick up a gift. Hours are typically around 10-3 M-Sat but do vary.

From the owner: Reems Creek Pottery is a working pottery studio and gallery. Each of the six ceramic artists has…read moretheir own studio space, and the work is fired in the shared kilns. We specialize in functional pottery, from plates, to bowls to mugs, to vases. We also have decorative pottery such as ornaments, and wall pockets and unique pieces. From cat themed, to mountain themed, we have something for everyone's tastes. Small mugs to large beer steins, and sizes in-between. Reems Creek Pottery also carries hand - made blank cards by a local fabric artist, and pens by a local wood turner. Our potters are knowledgeable about how all the work is produced and can answer your questions, as well as show you what they are working on in the studio. We are also featured in the Blue Ridge Craft Trails. So stop by Reems Creek Pottery today, on your way up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, or on your way back from a hike. We are conveniently located next to the Karpen Soccer Field, which has a nice walking trail. We have ample flat parking.
