Loved this event! I love hearing about the history of alcohol but don't know much about rum. We started with a rum and coke and then learnt about Pusser's Rum from brand ambassador Pete, while trying three of their products- spiced, standard and gunpowder. I liked that we could pour our own measures! I really enjoyed the rum, especially the standard and the spiced. The gunpowder was rather strong but worked great in the rum and coke. The cocktail competition was great fun and interesting to see how versatile the rum is. My painkiller cocktail was delicious! Loved the mugs, which we got to take home. Thanks also for the hot dogs from Chilli Dog Dogs to soak up the booze. Those hot dogs are the best.

Iv been to the prince of wales many times before. I came along to the mix and master rum tasting and it was amazing. I learnt alot about pussers rum production, and the history of the drink. I also learnt how to propperly taste or chew rum. I left after thoroughly enjoying the night and a bit tipsy. Thanks pussers rum

I had a great time last week, hanging with the Yelp crew at Prince of Wales in Moseley. The event was being hosted by Pussers Rum and I had been pre-warned not to drive. This was certainly one of the boozier yelp events! We started off being handed a POke (Pussers, Orange and Coke for those not in the know), which got us nicely warmed up for the main event during which we learnt all about the history of rum. I have to say, this was definitely one of the more interesting master classes that I have been to. It always helps when your tutor is passionate about the subject. The event had a great format, with rum tasting and learning about the product first, followed by a cocktail masterclass. We were also (unexpectedly) treated to hot dogs from Chilli Dog which were excellent. The event was rounded off with a cocktail master class. Unfortunately I didn't win the prize for best cocktail, but I enjoyed necking mine all the same

I had a great time at the Mix and Master Yelp event at the Prince of Wales pub. We had a great history lesson on Pusser's Rum at the Tiki Bar which is situated in the outdoor area. It was very tropical as we had the heaters blasting. We were welcomed with a traditional rum and coke and then had a sample of 3 different Pusser's Rum versions. One was spiced and another was referred to as gun powder as it was super strong (ABV 50% approx.) Pete our lovely host demonstrated how to make a few different cocktails and then it was over to the Elite's to have a go. I had an absolute blast and of course I love the souvenir mug. Thank you Pete, Pusser's Rum and Dan.

Thankfully it is largely left as is for people to enjoy! Our fellow Yelper Oona is a bit of a street art expert so organised the tour (complete with map and background info in a booklet). We gathered in Mockingbird at The Custard Factory where the venue kindly provided free coffees. First time I'd been in Mockingbird, the burger selection looked good so will have to come back and check those out. We then had a jolly saunter around the various street art pieces. There are a lot within the immediate vicinity of the Custard Factory. I could bang on about the great art but you can see that from the photos. Really impressive. Finally we finished at The Old Crown (Birmingham's oldest pub). Again the venue was very hospitable and gave us a tour of the building as well as complimentary sandwiches and hot drinks. I'd been to the pub several times before and noted some of its interesting historical features. However I hadn't realised they also have guest rooms upstairs. Very nicely done retaining the character of the building (again see photos). All in all a very enjoyable event. Many thanks to Ling and Oona for organising.

Absolutely a must-see area of B'ham. Stunning examples of various spray techniques. The skill and creative talent is extraordinary. I appreciated the leaflet our hosts had prepared listing key pieces plus a bit of blurb about the artist, too (cheers, Oona!). We rounded off the day in the Grade II listed Old Crown - another fine treat. A popular pub and B&B, apparently, there's even a resident ghost. Plus, they serve the best fruity cider. Enjoyed meeting other laid-back, friendly Yelpers. Hugely grateful to Ling and Oona for leading us today. Can't wait til the next event!

One small 187ml bottle of wine I can buy the full bottle of the same wine for the same price in a local supermarket. I looked at both places we could order from - the Wellington or 40 St. Paul's. Decided as I like cider, I'll pick the Wellington. Though I felt bad as I ordered it to be delivered to my office on Edmund street so that's only on the next block!! Lol I ordered 3 bottles as ordering less than certain amount incurs a fee. The order arrived, pretty much within 20 mins, I got text so I went to the lift and was also called by the Roo driver! He found the place with no problem. My only real issue with the delivery was it was not in a bag.. So I had to carry 3 bottles of cider into the office lol thankfully no one question me, no one tackled me for a bottle or more importantly did I smash any!! Lol I think next time I would go downstairs with a bag to be on the safe side. The bottles were nicely chilled though they are now in my work rucksack for when I get home! Thanks to Yelp (Dan) and deliveroo for my drinks today!! Cheers !!!!

I am now a huge fan of Second Cup Coffee - they have my favorite caffeinated beverage of all time and make it exceptionally well. Shout out to the awesome manager for making me a cup of London Fog to sample in addition to my free hot cocoa. Totally made my day. I've already been back to order one. It tastes like bergamot Christmas and everything nice. I loved the lounge space. The setup inside is perfect for a quick cuppa or for staying a bit to get work done. Our mini movie theater was quite snazzy. I felt so posh and special staying after hours for a fun movie treat with the Yelp crew. Glaze, girl, you have got it going on! Love, love, loved your cupcakes. Such cute decorations and well balanced flavors. I had the hummingbird cake with blue frosting. It was scrumdiddlyumptious. I can't wait to see where your cake business takes you. Please apply to Great British Bake Off. I'd love to cheer you on! I think you'd knock their socks off.
