Another fantastic event by Dan G. at the Lord Clifden! This sunny Sunday afternoon was spent eating delicious Brazilian food and dancing away to great music. Our food ticket could be used for a great selection of entrees, and we were also given a free drink and granita for dessert. The garden at the Lord Clifden was the perfect venue for an event like this. It was absolutely packed and lively, and completely decked out for the occasion. Look forward to the next event!

Brazilian BBQ, live music and sunshine all make for a uber chilled out Sunday afternoon at the Lord Clifden. There is always a great vibe at the Lord Clifden, especially if the sun is out. I love the outdoor garden of this pub; it's always busy but you can usually find a spot to enjoy the atmosphere. Thanks to Yelp we had some yummy Brazilian food - halloumi and grilled vegetables. We also had a delicious tropical fruit granita - mmmm so good and refreshing. Yelp Brum also put on some great entertainment for the event- some awesome live bands! A big shoutout to Faye from Bear Music for rocking it - she had the crowd up and dancing! So much fun! So all in all a great Sunday afternoon - chilled vibes and sunshine! Let's repeat before the end of summer please!! Note to self - sadly no nachos on the Sunday menu!

Possibly my favourite event this year ( but they are all so good, how do you choose?!) The sun was shining down on Dan, Yelp & the Lord Clifden for this Brazilian themed event! I got their pretty early to make sure I got a table in the sun but there is shade available for those that like it. I was presented with a ticket for a free tropical beer or Ting & a BBQ dish. All with a Brazilian theme! I started on the frozen ciders ( one of the UABs selling points) & ordered the hake with coconut sauce. It came with a rice salad. It had all the flavours of Brazil, fresh with lime & not too spicy due to the coconut. After a few beers & some ciders, we were still a little hungry so shared the pork stew...the meat melted in your mouth & I wished I d had a full portion! And we shared sons thick cut chips, we arrived quickly. The clifden often has a long wait for food on a Sunday but the BBQ helped to keep that at bay! We enjoyed the sunshine whilst listening to samba beats. The live music added a real party atmosphere! These were bands I d definitely watch again so well done to Dan for sourcing them & ensuring everything ran perfectly on the day! Great event & lets hope these before a regular thing on a summer Sunday.

Brilliant event! Great atmosphere, great weather, great music, great food. What more could you ask for? The staff were friendly, the Brazilian inspired food very tasty (I tried all 5 dishes, just to check), especially the chicken. The bands that played were perfect for a Sunday afternoon in the sun. All in all, a lot of fun. Thank you to The Lord Clifton for hosting and to Dan for organising it all!

I feel like I'm just repeating myself after each event but Dan smashed it yet again. The place looked amazing the sun was shining. The food was delicious. The music was on point and the vibe was perfect. Not one thing I would change about the event. They just just keep on getting bigger and better. Can't wait for the next one! Props to all of the staff at the clifden as it was so so busy and hot. But most of all yes Dan you did it again!!!!

Another fantastic Yelp event! The last time we was at the Lord Clifden the weather was just as good and the vibe to match! The theme was Brazilian BBQ. The vegetarian option was BBQ'd veg with halloumi and rice and made quite the nice treat. The music was provided by three local bands . The first of which was bear who actually played at the last Yelp event also. Bear are a really good band and always take the time to say hello to us and generally be cool. They rocked the event and set the tone for the afternoon. The whole event was planned really well with some great attention to detail. The Brazilian flag use was great and the summer tropical vibes was also there. Really looking forward to seeing what's in store for another Yelp event at the Clifden.

    Dan's super swag table!

It's hard for an outdoor party to go wrong when the weather is perfect and Dan G. seems to have mastered the elements for the past couple of Yelp events this summer! After the success of the first garden party, the Lord Clifden teamed up with Yelp again for an event celebrating all things Brasil in line with the Rio Olympics. Yelp regulars were generously given free food and drink tickets for their choice of grilled food and tropical inspired drinks. The chefs at the Clifden served up some interesting kebabs over rice. I chose the vegetarian option, composed of halloumi and grilled veggies with rice and beans. I also went with the beer du jour, the Devassa tropical lager. It's actually brewed in Rio, and the first exposure I had to it was at Viva Brazil earlier in the year. There were also house made concoctions available as well with a granita-esque dessert rounding things out. Overall the food and drink had a light, tropical vibe perfect for the weather. The party atmosphere was most accentuated by the excellent beats coming out over the sound system. For the first two hours or so Dan made sure some tunes centred on the party theme were cranking out loud, which was later joined with live bands, including round two for BearMusic. Even with the first garden party at the Lord Clifden going so well, this one somehow managed to surpass it in so many ways with a well-executed theme, great food and drink, and lovely music. Let's hope this series continues!

This was a fabulous afternoon in the summer sunshine. The Lord Clifden garden offers a perfect space to hold such an event and was packed. It was surprisingly easy to move through the crowds to the BBQ and bar and it was very efficiently organised. The highs- a very happy throng everyone getting along; great live music, it was rockin! They created a perfect summer vibe The lows- being a non-smoker it's unfortunate that garden=fags, but that's not unique to this venue; BBQ portions were IMO on the lean side, although what I had (beef skewer) was very tasty. A perfect way to enjoy a sunny afternoon.

The second Yelp / Lord Clifton event took place last week and I had front row seats. The weather was perfect and the Lord Clifton was jam packed. The event boasted a Brazilian barbeque. I tried a couple of dishes and they were lovely. I especially liked the pork stew which was served with rice. I have to admit that I was expecting more meat on the grill. This is just what I associate with Brazillian barbeques but having never actually been to Brazil I can't really comment! The steak kebabs were absolutely delicious and I just couldn't get enough. There were live bands playing at the event which was great. Three separate bars were serving the usual range of drinks, including the frozen cider which is so popular at The Lord Clifton. There was a good mix of Yelpers and non-Yelpers at this event, which was nice, and it meant that I was able to bring along a couple of friends. Thanks for another great event Dan. I can't wait for the next one!

Brazilian Beef Kebab with horseradish mayo. Yum!!

Yet another fantastic Yelp Brum event, Dan has absolutely smashed it this time - the food, the vibe and the music was all spot on, I have never seen the Clifden so packed! The weather was beautiful which just topped off an already amazing afternoon, if I had the choice I would do this every weekend - I can't really think of anything more positive that hadn't already been said! It was the perfect ending to a lovely weekend.

brilhante! Another great turn out by the Yelp crew but I think this is actually the best Yelp event to date. Food, live music, crazy guy dancing and loads of Yelpers and non Yelpers enjoying all of the previously mentioned. Having the 50% off the food helped as I wanted to be greedy and try it all. And I did. Chicken, Beef, Pork, Hake, Vegetables. The fish (Hake) was my favourite though. Just a great great day! Dan is becoming a legend.

The themed Brazilian party event was based at Lord Cliffdon pub. We was given vouchers for food and drink, I picked lemon garlic chicken with rice salad, tropical beer and for dessert fruit cocktail. There was local bands playing live music and they're were fantastic. The event was on a outdoor back garden to the pub, The place was packed and the atmosphere was great, it had that summer cool vibe. Thank you Dan for organising and making it a fun afternoon.

This event was the most perfect chilled Sunday and one of the best day events I've been to in a long time. Myself and my (big) friend group all came to The Lord Clifdon to see the music and check out the Brazilian BBQ. Loved the acts and had heard of two of them before. The food was beautiful, good price for the size portions and the options were mega interesting. Loved the dessert idea and the cheap beers in the fridge. The atmosphere was buzzing in the garden and it seemed busy for this event! Definitely would go again, Brazilian BBQ round 2???

You can't order food from one restaurant and drinks from another without having to make a separate order, frustrating! Oh, and two of my local off-licenses deliver for free, too.

The order arrived, pretty much within 20 mins, I got text so I went to the lift and was also called by the Roo driver! He found the place with no problem. My only real issue with the delivery was it was not in a bag.. So I had to carry 3 bottles of cider into the office lol thankfully no one question me, no one tackled me for a bottle or more importantly did I smash any!! Lol I think next time I would go downstairs with a bag to be on the safe side. The bottles were nicely chilled though they are now in my work rucksack for when I get home! Thanks to Yelp (Dan) and deliveroo for my drinks today!! Cheers !!!!

Thankfully it is largely left as is for people to enjoy! Our fellow Yelper Oona is a bit of a street art expert so organised the tour (complete with map and background info in a booklet). We gathered in Mockingbird at The Custard Factory where the venue kindly provided free coffees. First time I'd been in Mockingbird, the burger selection looked good so will have to come back and check those out. We then had a jolly saunter around the various street art pieces. There are a lot within the immediate vicinity of the Custard Factory. I could bang on about the great art but you can see that from the photos. Really impressive. Finally we finished at The Old Crown (Birmingham's oldest pub). Again the venue was very hospitable and gave us a tour of the building as well as complimentary sandwiches and hot drinks. I'd been to the pub several times before and noted some of its interesting historical features. However I hadn't realised they also have guest rooms upstairs. Very nicely done retaining the character of the building (again see photos). All in all a very enjoyable event. Many thanks to Ling and Oona for organising.
